1INTRODUCTION
The IRA-360 is an a tive infrared sensor. While the TX sensor emits a beam of infrared light
the RX is able to re eive this signal, the sensor manages and analyzes it through a
mi ro ontrolled ir uit that ompares the transmitted and re eived signal using information
of amplitude, width, and polarity of the signal , and if there is a real intrusion into the
prote ted perimeter it will fire.
The sensor also has spe ial lenses with UVA treatment, whi h prote ts the box from sunlight,
allowing it to be installed in any type of external and / or internal area, su h as restri ted
a ess areas, land, warehouses, residential walls.
1.1 GENERAL CHARACTERISTIC

INTERNAL PART OF THE EQUIPMENT
Re eiver

NF - normally losed
NA - normally open
CM - ommon
3 - LD1: when on indi ates that the sensor is going off
4 - POT1: sensibility potentiometer
5 - LD2: when off indi ates that the re eiver is aligned with the transmitter (alignment help)

3 INSTALLATION
After hoosing the pla e to install, follow the steps below:
1-install the transmitter first
2-with the help of the "mirror" hoose the pla e to install the re eiver like the pi ture below.
3-install the re eiver. after installing verify if the re eiver is aligned the best as possible with
the transmitter, for this use the mirror or led ("LD2")
obs.: the mirror and led are an initial form of alignment, being ne essary to make a fine
alignment for points TP1and TP2 the items below show how to use these three installing
tools.
Figura 3
LED:
when making the me hani al adjustment for a perfe t alignment, the "LD2" (red ultra bright)
should be off. If the led is on, adjust it until it turns off.
obs.: it´s ne essary that the beam is not interrupted by no obsta le during the alignment.

MIRROR:
Always observe both mirrors for a better alignment for both RX and TX. The mirror is used
when it´s not possible to view the led ("LD2") on the re eiver board. this type of alignment
works as a basi alignment being ne essary to make a fine alignment.
To align see the pi ture below:
Figura 4
4FINE ALIGNMENT
After installing the transmitter and re eiver, it´s ne essary to make a fine alignment for the
ideal fun tioning.
you have to measure the points (TP1 and TP2) a minimum tension of 1,4V.
If ne essary, adjust the lens horizontally and verti ally until you get this value (see pi ture 3B).
Figura 5
5SENSIBILITY
To adjust the sensibility you have to adjust the trimpot "POT1". this sensibility will be the time that the
beam has to be interrupted so the sensor go off.
minimum sensibility: turning the "POT1" anti lo kwise, the beam has to be interrupted for 100ms
(millise onds).
maximum sensibility: turning the "POT1" lo kwise, the beam has to be interrupted for 50ms
(millise onds).

8 PRECAUTIONS/RECOMMENDATIONS
For a good fun tioning and that there´s no false alarms it´s important that you be areful
with the situations below:
- Always pass the wires in the pla es indi ated, so the lid an lose
orre tly
-never pass the wires on the upper part of the sensor
- Do not install near plants, tree bran hes or obje ts that an
interrupt the beam.
Do not install near pla es where it an have splash of mudd or
dirty water.
IRA-360:
- On pla es with intense fog install in the maximum of 100 meters
- Do not install in a movable base or easy dislo ation.
- When installing 2 pairs of the sensor you
have to put the transmitter (TX) with their
ba k to one another, so there´s no
interferen e between the pairs.
