2. Long term Storage

3. Operating principle
IQL actuators ar ngin ring d vic to providing thrust forc to mov valv s
and th forc which com s out from th driv shaft is g n rat d by th motor
with multi stag of r ducing g aring.
Actuator is mount d on valv support d by th two pillars, and pillars can b
diff r nt d p nding on valv typ s.

5. Manual operation
Wh n mounting actuator on valv or during s tting limit switch s, actuator
should b op rat d by manual hand-wh l.
A. By pulling auto/manual l v r toward hand-wh l, manual op ration can b
possibl , and onc pow r is appli d, auto/manual l v r will automatically
r turn to auto op ration.
B. In case of IQL08~25, th r ar th forc switch s for op n and clos and
2 Limit Switch s and 2 Auxiliary Switch s. Wh n you want to limit th full
op n and clos positions by th forc switch s, you only s t th Auxiliary
Limit Switch s and l av th limit switch s at th pr vious positions (Op n
and Clos ).
C. M chanical s tting should b prop rly don .
aution: 1) Don’t operate hand-wheel with extremely excessive force
2) Total mechanical stroke should be limited between upper
limit and lower limit, and when setting is done over this
range, it may cause serious problem in the performance and
operation of actuator.

7. Mounting Actuator on Valve
IQL actuator can b asily applicabl to various typ s of valv s.
Warning! 1. Before completing setting the limit switches (Open/ lose),
make sure not to supply any electric power to actuator at any case,
and setting limit switches should be done by manual operation.
aution! 1. Upper stroke limit and lower stroke limit are marked on pillar
to indicate the mechanical maximum stroke, and when mounting
the actuator onto the valve, total stroke of valve should be set
between these two limits.
2. So, the length of valve stem should be carefully decided after
checking all dimension of the pillar, valve stem and other related
parts, and make sure the valve stroke should be within this range
after mounting.
Actuator should b prop rly mount d on th valv supporting by 2 pillars.

3) Mounting flang on valv and tight n by locking d vic .
4) Making th low r part of pillar go s through flang hol s, and ass mbly it with
spring wash r and nuts, but mak sur not to tight n it up so much.
5) Two lin s ar mark d at upp r and low r of Pillar indicating upp r and low r
strok limit, and valv total strok should b in this rang . So, aft r ch cking th
max strok of valv , mount actuator prop rly so that max strok of valv may
not s t out of this rang .
6) Ass mbl machin d Coupl r with valv st m, and tight n it with nut from th
bottom. Don’t forg t to ins rt spring wash r.
7) Using manual hand-wh l, mak actuator mov down and ass mbl coupl r
with actuator shaft tog th r. And b tw n actuator shaft and coupl r, must
ins rt indicator plat without fail (Att ntion to th dir ction of indicator).
8) Tight n th nuts onto th thr ads of pillars which cam out from th hol of
flang .
Mak sur nd of pillar must b compl t ly ins rt d into th hol of flang .
aution! 1. Before tightening nut on valve flange, double check if ends of
pillar are completely inserted into the holes of mounting flange. If
not, correct the position of pillar or flange.
8. Setting Limit Switch
aution! Before setting limit switch, make sure not to operate actuator
by electric power.
Otherwise, it may cause damage to actuator or valve.
Two typ s of th s tting limit switch s can b possibl d p nding on sp cific cas s.
S tting d p nding on limit switch ind p nd ntly and s tting limit switch d p nding on
limit/Forc .
And ach s tting th limit switch s should b don according to th op ration typ of
th valv .
Basic Principles
2-way typ valv (Through-valv ) r quir s Forc /limit at th clos position first,
and th n r quir s limit ind p nd nt at th op n position.
3-way valv r quir s forc /limit s t for both nds.

Force/Limit setting
By using manual hand-wh l, s t Clos limit switch as b low.
hecking the indicator, make sure close setting point is not over the lower
limit on Pillar.
1) By turning th manual hand-wh l, s t th clos Limit switch as b low tabl .
Warning: Clos S tting Point should b l ss than th bottom of th Pillar lin .
2) To s t th Clos Limit xactly is v ry important, Us r can us as b low ways.

switch at this point as clos .

Setting limit switch independent
1) Plac th actuator at th point n d to b s t by
actuator’s manual hand wh l.
2) Loos ning cam of corr spond nc with its limit switch and mov th cam until it
activat limit switch. And tight n scr w at th point.
9. Wiring and onnection
aution 1. When wiring, make sure to place proper sealant to secure the
sealing between cable entry and gland, so that water outside doesn’t
flow into actuator inside.
1) El ctrical wiring attach d insid of cov r is provid d for individual actuator only,
sinc wiring can b diff r nt d p nding on r quir d sp cifications,
doubl ch ck all th sp cification b for wiring.
2) Standard motor of IQL actuator has its own th rmal prot ctor, and if
t mp ratur of motor is ov r th limit, it cuts l ctricity in th lin , so that
actuator may not g t th th rmal damag .

10. ommissioning
Op n cov r and plac th actuator in th middl of total strok of valv by using
manual hand-wh l.
1) Supply th main pow r.
2) Supply op n signal for about 5~10 s conds, ch ck if op rating dir ction is corr ct
and vis v rsa. If dir ction is r v rs , xchang th signal lin ach oth r.
3) Wh n th main pow r is 3 phas l ctricity, ch cking op rating dir ction must b
don b for normal op ration. Oth rwis , actuator or valv may g t fatal
damag !
4) K p supplying th signal until th cam activat s th limit switch, and if n c ssary,
s t th cam corr ctly again!
11. Maintenance
1) If actuator is und r normal condition and maintain d as p r d scrib d in this
manual, th r is no mor sp cial instruction for th maint nanc and no n d to
r fill th gr as or lubricant into actuator.
2) Actuators n d to b cl an and dry condition und r op ration and storag .
12. Spare Part
1) Handling and during op ration, if th r is any parts damag d or lost, r plac m nt
can b suppli d s parat ly upon r qu st. Pl as consult with local distributors or
ag nt to g t th n c ssary parts.
