INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
The di
agram above sh ows t he typical
installation procedure int o a fi be rgl ass panel usi ng
the supp lied hardware. Always fo ll ow proper
safety proc edures when work i ng on a vessel.
Before cutting, drilling
or insert ing any screw, che ck
clearanc es on both sides of the planned mounting
su r face. Al so check for any potent ial obst ac le s, such
as wiring ha rne sses ,fuel li nes, hydrau li c lines,et c. Use
eye-p r otec tion at all ti me s and a dust mask and
glo ves when cutting.
1) Choose a flat mounting su rf ace th at has
su
ff icient dep th a nd air space behi nd it to accept
th e subwoo fer.
2) Cu t a 8.875-inch ( 22 5 mm) diameter hole.
3) Run the speaker cable to the moun ting location.
4) Place the woofer in the hole and mark th e screw
hole locations using a sharp,
po inted tool.
5) Rem ov ethe w oo fer a nd dr i ll a pil ot hole
(see chart on next page) in ea ch of the screw
locatio
ns . It is al so advi sa ble to us e a hand-dri ve n
count
ers ink tool on each hole to f urt her i nh i bit
ge l-coat cracking of fib ergl ass panels.
6) Con nect the speaker w ir es and pl ace the woof er,
wit h itsgrille in place, into the open i ng
7) While holding the speaker firmly in itsmou nt ing
locatio
n, evenly s nu g the mounti ng screws in a
cri ss - cross patt e rn, th en hand tighten in a cri ss -
cross pattern.

While this speaker is designed to be water and
spray resistant,
it is not designed to be submerged
or to with s tand high-pressure wa ter spray.
Please exercise care
when washing your boat to
avoid damaging your speaker. Do not install on
submersibles, personal watercraft or any other
vessel likely to be under water at any time.

This high-performance speaker can exceed
this
level. Please exercise restraint in its operation in
order to preserve your ability to enjoy its fidelity.
When in
sta lling a s ubwoo fer in your vessel, it is
extremely
impor ta nt to secure it firmly. Thisapplies
not only to the woofer itself, but also the structure
it is mounted to. If not firmly attached, the speaker
can become a dangerous projectile in a collision.
