Thank you for choosing a JL Audio Stealthbox® for your automotive sound system.

With proper installation, your new vehicle-specific enclosed subwoofer system

will deliver years of listening pleasure.

We strongly recommend that you have your new Stealthbox® installed by your

authorized JL Audio dealer. The installation professionals employed by your

dealer have the necessary tools and experience to disassemble and reassemble

your vehicle properly. If you prefer to perform your own installation, please read

this installation guide completely before beginning the process.

If you choose to perform the installation yourself, it is absolutely

vital that the Stealthbox®be properly mounted to the vehicle

according to these instructions. Failure to mount the enclosure

properly presents two problems:

1) The sub-bass performance will suffer due to the movement of the

enclosure caused by the force exerted by the woofer(s).

2) A loose enclosure presents a serious safety hazard in the event of a

collision or sudden deceleration.

Note: For optimum performance, JL Audio recommends applying the included Foam Strips (or sound damping material) to surrounding plastic panels to reduce unwanted vibrations.

POWER RECOMMENDATION

JL Audio recommends high quality ampliers such as the JL Audio MX300/1. The diagram below shows the recommended crossover settings for the MX300/1. For a detailed description of the

amplier settings, consult the owner’s manual for the amplier. If another amplier is being used, please reference this illustration and use similar settings on that amplier.

CONNECTIONS

Using quality power, signal, and speaker wire is essential in ensuring the performance of your Stealthbox®. JL Audio recommends using a 4 AWG power kit such as the XD-PCS4-1B for your

Stealthbox® amplier. Other kits are available should you be using more than one amplier. Signal wire such as the JL Audio Premium Audio Interconnect Cables should be used to provide signal for

both channels of the amplier. JL Audio recommends using 12AWG speaker wire for subwoofers such as our XC-BCS12-25.

STEP 8

Remove the lower clip from the bottom of the

side panel.

STEP 7

Remove the upper clip from the rear of the side

panel.

STEP 6

Remove the rear screw from the rear of the side

panel.

STEP 5

Remove the bolt from the bottom of the side

panel.

STEP 4

Remove the two outer screws from the bottom

of the side panel.

STEP 3

Remove the two outer screws from the top of

the side panel.

STEP 2

Lift up on the seat bottom, and remove it from

the vehicle.

STEP 1

Empty the vehicle.

STEP 16

From the inside, pass the seat belt bolt through

the upper hole in the Rear Bracket, back into

the factory hole, and thread the nut back on

from the back.

Position the Rear Bracket as shown, and hand

tighten the seat belt bolt and nut.

Remove the lower seat belt bolt and nut.

STEP 14

Remove the side panel from the vehicle.

STEP 13

Remove the three front clips from the front of

the side panel.

STEP 12

Remove the outer clip from the top of the side

panel.

STEP 11

Remove the inner clip from the top of the side

panel.

STEP 10

Remove the upper clip from the top of the side

panel.

STEP 9

Remove the rear clip from the rear of the side

panel.

STEP 24

Slide a Stainless Steel Cushion Clamp around

the base of the roll bar, and align the hole in

the clamp with the threaded insert on the

rear of the Stealthbox®. Thread a 1/4 - 20 x 1”

Stainless Steel Serrated Flange Bolt through the

hole in the Stainless Steel Cushion Clamp, into

the threaded insert in the enclosure, and fully

tighten.

STEP 23

Align the lower holes in the Large Front Bracket

to the threaded inserts in the front of the

Stealthbox®. Thread a 1/4 - 20 x 1” Stainless

Steel Serrated Flange Bolt through each of

the holes in the Large Front Bracket, into the

threaded inserts on the enclosure, and hand

tighten.

STEP 22

Align the lower holes in the Rear Bracket to the

threaded inserts in the back of the Stealthbox®.

Thread a 1/4 - 20 x 1” Stainless Steel Serrated

Flange Bolt through each of the holes in the

Rear Bracket, into the threaded inserts on the

enclosure, and hand tighten.

STEP 21

Connect speaker cable to the barrier strip on

the Stealthbox®, and slide the enclosure into

position as shown. Route the cable as

necessary.

STEP 20

Slide a 1/4 - 20 x 1” Stainless Steel Serrated

Flange Bolt through each of the upper holes in

the Large Front Bracket, then through the holes

in the Small Front Bracket. Slide a 1/4” Stainless

Steel Serrated Spring Lock Washer and a 1/4 -

20 Stainless Steel Hex Nut over each of the 1/4

- 20 x 1” Stainless Steel Serrated Flange Bolts,

and hand tighten.

STEP 19

Align the Small Front Bracket and Large Front

Bracket around the top of the frame as shown.

STEP 18

Attach a portion of one of the Foam Strips

around the top of the Small Front Bracket as

shown.

STEP 17

Attach a portion of one of the Foam Strips

around the top of the Large Front Bracket as

shown.

STEP 28

Reinstall the seat bottom.

Note: For optimum performance, we

recommend applying the included Foam Strips

(or sound damping material) to surrounding

plastic panels to reduce unwanted vibrations.

STEP 27

Reinstall the side panel, bolt, screws, and clips.

STEP 26

Fully tighten the hardware on the Large Front

Bracket and Small Front Bracket installed in

Step 20.

Fully tighten the hardware on the Rear Bracket

installed in Step 22.

Fully tighten the hardware on the Large Front

Bracket installed in Step 23.

STEP 25

Fully tighten the seat belt bolt and nut

reinstalled in Step 16.
