Guide to Safe Operation
The JML Food Sealer is an electrical device, and certain basic safety standards
must be applied at all times, as follows:
1. Keep the unit away from water or other liquids to avoid electrical discharge;
don’t plug the product in if it’s resting on a wet surface.
2. Place the unit on a solid surface to avoid movement or falling.
3. Don’t place the unit on or near warm surfaces, in the oven, or in a dish
washer.
4. Never immerse the unit in water. If the cord and plug become wet at any
time, remove the plug from the electric socket while wearing dry rubber
gloves. If the unit has been immersed, send it immediately to an authorized
service centre or to your dealer.
5. To avoid getting burned, never touch the sealing bar while the unit is
operating.
6. Never use adapters with input voltage not indicated on the bottom of the
unit (rating plate).

9. Make sure that both panels of the bag are located within the rippled
area (vacuum plate), but below the vacuum nozzle (see figure 3).
10. Close the cover and press down at each end ensuring that both
locking mechanisms click into place.
11. Press the “Vacuum/Seal” button and the bag will be vacuumed and
sealed (see figure 4). The machine automatically stops when the bag

Helpful Hints
1. Do not overfill the bag: leave enough empty length at the open end of
the bag so that it can be placed on the vacuuming plate easily.
2. Ensure that the open end of the bag is not wet. A wet bag may be
difficult to melt and seal tightly.

Troubleshooting
Here are the steps to follow if you’re experiencing difficulties with your product.
Nothing happens when I press the vacuum/seal button
• Make sure the power cord is plugged in correctly. Test the electrical outlet
by plugging in another appliance.
• Check to see if either the power cord or the plug is damaged. If they are,
don’t attempt to start.
Air is not removed from the bag completely
• The bag may not be completely sealed. To seal properly, the open end of
the cut roll should be resting entirely inside vacuum channel area
• The bag may have a hole. To test, seal the bag with some air in it,
submerge in water, and apply pressure. If there are bubbles present this
indicates a leak and a new bag should be used.

• This may be caused by a leakage due to wrinkles, crumbs, fats or liquids.
Open the bag, clean the upper part and take any foreign matter off the
sealing bar before trying to seal again
• Make sure the bag is free of holes. If sealing foods with sharp edges, first
line the bag with napkins or paper towels
Bags are not sealing correctly
• The cause may be the sealing bar overheating or melting the bag. Open
the lid and let the sealing bar cool down for several minutes
