ཱུFunction and alarm test
1. Carry out a visual inspection of the smoke alarm device. Check:
•if the smoke alarm device exists
•that the alarm device is not polluted by paint, any cover or dust for example
•if the device is in a correct condition (nothing broken off)
If there are any claims of the above, replace the smoke alarm device immediately.
2. Carry out a function test. Therefore press the detector head for at least one
second. A warning beep sounds if the smoke alarm device is operational.
3. Regarding to the DIN 14676 rule, replace all smoke alarm devices after 10 years
for new ones!
The alarm mute will be activated for approx. 10 minutes after every function test
Note!
If you test the smoke alarm device with testing aerosol than the alarm
muting (11) will not take place.
ེAlarm muting
The alarm muting can be activated by pressing the detector head (1).
The response sensitivity level of the detector will be reduced respectively the response
threshold level increased. The detector will mute if the smoke concentration in the
measuring chamber is beneath the raised response threshold.
Is this not the case and the smoke concentration is higher as the increased responds
threshold, then the smoke alarm device will mute as soon as the smoke concentration
decreases below this level. The smoke alarm device will mute for approx. 10 minutes
and then reset itself to the normal operation sensitivity level.
ཻBattery low alarm muting
This function is a very useful feature, especially at night.
The battery low alarm can be muted for approx. 8 hours by pressing the test button
(detector head). The battery low alarm will return after the 8 hours automatically to
remind you to swap the detector for a new one.

ྲྀMaintenance
The house- and apartment owner is responsible for the installation and maintenance of
smoke alarm devices in a couple of states and provinces.
A service must be done at least once a year and contains an optical inspection and a
function test due to the DIN 14676 rule. A function test must be done after a longer
absenteeism but latest within one year (see chapter 6).
ཷExchange date & Serial-No. on the type plate
Replace all smoke alarm devices at the latest after 10 years for new ones!
The recommended exchange date is printed on the label next to the serial number.
The alarm device is max. two years suitable for storage before commissioning.

ོOptional accessories:
- VdS certified adhesive pad:
The detector base can be attached to the ceiling via the included screws and plugs or
with a double sided adhesive pad (Order-no.: 32587). Check the condition of the
corresponding surface before fitting the detector to assure a firm hold.
Check the surface condition of the ceiling before use of the double sided adhesive pad.
It must be suitable for durable bonding and bearing strength (test bonding if necessary).
Pull of the protection film on one side of the pad and stick the pad tightly to the centre
of the detector base. Next remove the film of the other side, tighten the base firmly to
the ceiling and continue as described in chapter 2 "Installation and commissioning"
step 6.
- Anti tamper lead or safety screw
An anti tamper lead from plastic can be pushed into the smoke alarm device head to
indicate an unauthorised extraction.
A safety screw can be fitted instead of an anti tamper lead to prevent unauthorised
extraction.
The anti tamper lead and safety screw are not scope of delivery and can be ordered
separately (detectomat order no.: Anti tamper lead: 32301; Safety screw: 50437).
