- Do not immerse the cord, plug, or any part of the
appliance in water or other liquids.
- Unplug from the mains when not in use, when

cleaning any part of the appliance.

- When unplugging the device, hold the plug itself,

Beforeusingyourkettleforthersttime,makesureitisthoroughly
clean.Fillthekettletothemaximumlevel,boilthewaterandpourit
away. Do this twice. Wipe down its outer surfaces with a damp cloth.
Note: The kettle’s maximum capacity is 1.7L.
1. Placeyourkettleonaatsurface.
2. Takeyourkettlefromitsbase.Openthelidbypressingtherelease
button,thenllthekettletothedesiredlevelandclosethelid.
Thewatershouldbebetweentheminimumandthemaximumll
levels.Ifthereistoolittlewater,thekettlewillswitchoffbeforeboiling.

Note:Donotllbeyondthemaximumlevelaswatermayspurtfrom
thespoutwhileboiling.
3. Placethekettlebackonthepowerbaseandclosethelid.
4. Plugthekettleinandswitchiton.Thekettlewillstarttoboil.Itwill
switchoffautomaticallyoncethewaterhasboiled.Ifyouwanttouse
it again, you will need to wait 30 seconds. To stop the water from
boilingatanypoint,simplyswitchoffthekettleorliftitfromitsbase.

Note:Ensurethattheswitchisnotobstructedandthelidisrmly
closed.Thekettlewillkeepboilingiftheswitchcannotrelease,orifthe
lid is open.

5. Liftthekettlefromthepowerbaseandpourthewater.

WARNING! Hot water and steam can scald skin. Do not open the lid
whenthekettlehasjustboiledorwhilethewaterinsideisstillveryhot.
Pour the water carefully.
6. Thekettlewillnotre-boiluntiltheswitchispressedagain.
Thekettlemaybestoredonthepowerbase.

Shouldyouaccidentallyswitchonthekettlewithoutwater,theboil-dry
protector will automatically switch the kettle off. If this occurs, allow the
kettletocoolbeforellingitwithcoldwaterandre-boiling.
1. Alwaysunplugthekettleandletitcooldownbeforecleaning.
2. Neverimmersethekettle,powercordorpowerbaseinwater.
3. Wipeitssurfacewithadampcloth.Donotuseabrasivecleaners
or solvents.
4. Cleanthelterregularly.Detachthelterfromtheinsideofthe
kettlebypressingdownonthereleasetabs.Donotforgetto
replacethelteraftercleaning.

NOTE:Filterisdishwashersafe.

CAUTION:Donotusespecialiststeelorotherabrasivecleanerson
the outside of the kettle or you may damage its surface.
5. Youmaywindthepowercordaroundthebottomofthekettlefor
storagebutensurethatthekettlehascooleddownandisempty.
You should regularly descale your kettle to ensure that it works properly.
Youcanuseacommerciallyavailabledescalerandfollowtheinstruc-
tions on the packet. Alternatively, you can use white vinegar as follows:
1. Pour three cups of white vinegar into the kettle. Add enough water
sothatthemixturecompletelycoversthebottomofthekettle.
Leave the solution in the kettle overnight.
2. The following morning, pour away the mixture. Fill the kettle with
cleanwatertothemaximumlllevel,boilandthendiscardthe
water. Repeat several times until the smell of vinegar has completely
gone.Anystainsremaininginsidethespoutcanberemovedby
rubbingwithadampcloth.
