
WHEN USING YOUR VACUUM,
BASIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS SHOULD ALWAYS BE OBSERVED,
INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
1. Do not leave vacuum cleaner unattended when it is plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not
in use and before pulling filters out.
2. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
3. Do not allow children to use as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used near children.
4. Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
5. Do not use with damaged cord or plug. Do not use vacuum cleaner if it has been dropped,
damaged,left outdoor,or dropped into water. Return appliance to the appliance customer
service for examination repair or adjustment.
6. Do not pull or carry by cord. Do not use the cord as a handle, close the door on cord, or pull
cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from
heated surfaces.
7. Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp by the plug, not the cord.
8. Do not handle plug or vacuum cleaner with wet hands. Dot not use outdoors or on wet
surfaces.
9. Do not put any objects into openings. Do not use with any openings blocked and do not
restrict airflow. Keep all opening free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce airflow.
10. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
11. Do not pick up hard or sharp objects such as glass nails, screws, coins, etc.
12. Do not pick up hot coals, cigarette, matches or any hot, smoking, or burning objects.
13. Do not use without filters in place.
14. Turn off all controls before plugging or unplugging vacuum cleaner.
15. Use extra care when vacuuming on stairs.
16. Do not pick up flammable or combustible materials (lighter fluid, gasoline, etc.) or use in the
presence of explosive liquids or vapor.
17. Do not pick up toxic material (chlorine bleach, ammonia, drain cleaner, etc.)
18. Do not use in an enclosed space filled with vapors given off by oil based paints, paint thinner,
moth proofing, flammable dust, or other explosive or toxic vapors.
19. Always unplug this appliance before connecting or disconnecting vacuum hose. Do not allow
plug to whip when rewinding.
20. Use only on dry, indoor surfaces.
21. Do not use for any purpose other than described in this user’s guide.
MACHINE OPERATION
22. Store your appliance indoor in a cool, dry area.
23. Keep your work area well dry.
24. Do not immerse the vacuum into water or other liquids.
25. Keep end of hose, wands and other openings away from your face and body.
26. Do not use the vacuum to clean your pets or any animal.
27. Keep the head (eyes, ear, mouth, etc.) away from the openings, when the cleaner is working
or plugging.

1- ON/OFF Switch
•After assembling vacuum, plug the
cord into an electrical outlet. Turn the
vacuum ON by pressing the ON/OFF
pedal (A). To turn vacuum OFF press
the pedal again.
Note : The Cord Winder Pedal (B) is on
the other side.
4- Wand Storage Clip
•To save storage space, stand the
cleaner on end and hook wand
storage clip on bottom of vacuum.
The nozzle must be positioned down
as shown.
•Lift up on wand to remove storage
clip from cleaner.
Polarized Plug
•To reduce the risk of electric shock,
this appliance has a polarized plug (
one blade is wider than the other ).
This plug will fit in a polarized outlet
only one way. If the plug does not fit
fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If
it still does not fit, contact a qualified
electrician to install the proper outlet.
•DO NOT CHANGE THE PLUG IN ANY
WAY.
Thermal Protector
•An internal thermal protector has
been used in your vacuum to prevent
overheating if a large item or clog gets
caught in the nozzle or at the opening
of the bag.
•When the blockage is not removed,
the thermal protector will trip and
cleaner will stop running.
•If this happens, turn vacuum OFF
and disconnect vacuum from
electrical outlet. Then disconnect
nozzle and remove obstruction.
Within 30 minutes the thermal
protector will cool and automatically
reset and and cleaning can resume.
•If vacuum does not operate, allow
additional time for thermal protector
to reset.
Note : The canister must remain
unplugged during the 30 minutes
cooling period.
2- Full Bag Indicator
•When the indicator light comes on
(C), open the canister and check the
filter bag. See page 10 for details and
instructions on how to replace a filter
bag.
3- Variable Suction
Control
•The variable suction control (D) is
located on the top rear of the vacuum.
•Push the (–) button to reduce
suction and to clean lightly soiled
areas or delicate fabrics. Push the (+)
button for maximum cleaning power
in heavily soiled areas.
