□Unpack the equipment.
□Insert hard drives into drive slots as shown
below.a
□Press each drive until it clicks and the handle is
held behind the release button.a
□Connect to VGA monitor.c
□Connect mouse and keyboard.c
□Connect AC Power.d
□Connect to network.c
□Connect analog cameras.c

□Turn on the main power on the
back of the DVN.e
□Press the power switch on the
front of the DVN.e

□Enter the User ID and Password.
Default User ID = admin
Default Password = <blank> (no password)
Note: Analog cameras are configured and
operate automatically.
Note: For security reasons, change the
administrative password as soon as possible.
□Configure DVN for network access.
□Set the date and time in the DVN.
□Configure network cameras.
□Configure Record Scheduler for cameras.
Please read before installation
□Click Login to log into the server.

□Select the language and click the OK button.
□Read license conditions and click Accept.
□Select the video standard setting for your
location.
Default language is
English.

□Validate the recording. Record and play back
5 minutes of video recording.
Default IP Address: 192.168.135.145
Default Web Address: 192.168.135.145
Default Net Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.135.253

No power to unit. Power cord plugged into
proper 120/220 VAC power
outlet?
ON/OFF switch on back and
front of unit set to ON?
Cannot log into
server from client
Correct user name and
password?
Server and client running
same software version?
Can you ping server from
client?
Max. number of clients

and properly configured?

Have you tested IP camera
using manufacturer’s native
user interface?

Any RAID drive error
messages in the system log?
