General Safety Guide
The stand alone type DVR is manufactured to satisfy the international safety standards.
Review the following safety precautions to avoid injury and prevent damage to this product or any
products connected to it.
1) Use Proper Power Source
Do not operate this product from a power source that applies more than the specified voltage (90~260Vac).
2) Never Insert Anything Metallic into the DVR Case.
Something into the DVR case can be a source of dangerous electronic shock.
3) Do not Operate in Wet & Dusty Conditions.
Avoid the place like damp basement or dusty hallway
4) Do not Expose this Product to Rain or Use in Near Water.
If this product accidentally gets wet, unplug it and contact an authorized dealer immediately.
5) Keep Product Surfaces Clean and Dry.
Use a cloth lightly dampened with water(no solvents) to clean the exterior of the DVR.
6) Provide Proper Ventilation.
This DVR set supports automatic proper ventilation.
7) Do not Operate with Suspected Failures.
If there are any unusual sounds or smells coming from it. Unplug it immediately and contact authorized de-
aler or service center.
8) Do not Attempt to Remove the Top Cover
You are exposed to a shock hazard(near the SMPS). The cover should only be removed by qualified ser
vice personnel.
9) Handle Carefully
If the system is impacted strong, the system may cause malfunction. in this case, contact an authorized
dealer immediately
10) Use Standard Lithium Cell Battery
Use standard lithium cell battery having nominal DC voltage is 3 volt and
standard discharge current is 0.3mA.
Put the used cell battery in the used battery gathering box or equivalent.
11) Install this Product under Good Air Circulation Conditions
Our DVR system contains hard disk drive inside, which generate much heat during operation.
So do not block air holes (bottom, upper, sides and back) of the DVR to cool down the system
while running. Install or place this product at good air circulation conditions.

1. Introduction to Digital Video Recorder (DVR)
This DVR system is a Digital Security System designed to record/retrieve up to 4 channel video streams
at the same time. It adopts a digital image compression technology to compress the input channel video
streams, and uses hard disks to record the compressed video stream.
“Chapter 3, “Operation Guide” explains how to operate/manage the DVR, and “Chapter 4, “DVR
Installation” explains how to install the DVR in your home.

2. Operation Guide
A. Power Up
If the DVR is properly installed (refer to chapter 4 formore detail on DVR installation), The DVR is
ready to record and play digitally processed video stream. The DVR power switch is at the back of
the DVR. Turn on the switch.
[NOTE] Please, make sure that the DVR is properly installed before you turn it on.
i. View Mode
When the DVR starts up, it enters the default operational state, “View” mode. In this mode,
the DVR does not record, and does not play the recorded stream. It just shows the current
images from each camera connected to the DVR.
[NOTE] There’s an exception on entering DVR “View” mode. That is “Power
Recovery,” which would be activated when the DVR detects that it’s been shut
down without stopping the recording process.
1. Change Channel
There are 5 display mode (1,2,3,4,ALL) selection buttons on the DVR front panel.
The default display setting of the DVR is to show all 4 channels at the same time
reducing each channel’s image size. With this setting, you can see all 4 channels on your
TV screen at the same time. However, when you want to see only one channel on full
screen, which means one large image, you can simply select one channel and it’ll be
displayed.

All : All Channel selection button. – This option displays all 4 channels at the same time.

B. Basic Function
The basic function of the DVR is to record (REC) and play (PLAY).
[NOTE] This chapter describes the BASIC DVR functions like recording, playing, fast
forwarding, reverse, etc. For more detailed descriptions on the DVR menu,
please refer to the “Section C. DVR Menu” of this chapter.
i. Record (REC)
1. Start Recording
Press “REC” button on the DVR front panel.
Then, you will see this mark ‘n’ on the selected channel/s of the screen, which means the
channel is now recording .
2. Stop Recording
Press stop, ‘n’, button.
Then, the ‘n’ mark will disappear.

ii. Playback
1. Start Playing
Press “4” button on the DVR front panel. (PLAY)
you will see the playback time selection menu.
However, you can just simply press the “4” button once again to start playing.
Then, you will see the recorded video stream on your TV set.
[NOTE] You can also press “Select” button to start playing.
[NOTE] For more detail information about playback by time search function, read
“Playback” section on page 21 of this manual.
2. Fast Forward (FF)
To play the recorded stream faster, press “8” button.
There are three levels of fast forward playback speed.
nFF 1: Play two times faster (x2) than the normal play.
nFF 2: Play three times faster (x3) than the normal play.
nFF 3: Play four times faster (x4) than the normal play.
To change the fast forward play back speed level, press the “8” button again.

3. Reverse (REW)
To play the recorded stream backward, press the “7” button.
The reverse playback speed depends on the frame rate, the number of channels
recorded, and the record quality.
4. Pause (PAUSE)
To pause the video playback, press the “;” button.
Then, the video displaying will be stopped. To continue playback, push play “4” button.
5. Stop Playback
To stop playback, press ‘n’, button.

C. DVR Menu
There are four buttons for managing the DVR.
Manu : To display menu option, press “MENU” button.
Up & Down : To changemenu field or change the DVR configuration
values,pressup,“5,” or down, “6,” buttons.
Select : To select a menu item, change the DVR configuration
values, or select a sub menu, press “SELECT” button.
The DVR menu will be described in the following pages.

i. MAIN MENU
Operating Instructions for the DVR Board
Below you’ll find a screen shot of the primary “Menu” page (the “Camera and Record
Control Menu). Press the “Menu” button to display this menu.

Press the “UP” or “DOWN” key on the DVR front panel to move up or down the arrow sign
“>” in order to change the settings.
1. In the main menu, the arrow indicator “>”will be shown on the screen right next to one of
the seven different menu selections, on the left hand side.

CAMERA
SELECT
There are 4 cameras that can be connected to the DVR.
Use the key button on the front panel to select the camera for real-time
viewing on the screen.
CH1 (Camera 1) CH2 (Camera 2)
CH3 (Camera 3) CH4 (Camera 4)
You can also use “SELECT ” button for different combinations of camera
viewing. For example,
①When you choose ( - - - - ), all cameras will be disabled.
②When you choose (1 2 3 4), all cameras will be operational.
③When you choose ( - - - 4 ), only camera 4 will be operational.
④When you choose (1 2 - 4), cameras 1, 2, and 4 will be operational.
* There are 16 different combinations of channel settings.

RECORD
SELECT
Selecting the camera channel/s on RECORD SELECT menu is the same as
CAMERA SELECT options.
Please remember that only the selected camera will record real-time events during
recording period.
RECORD
MODE
There are two different record modes: EACH and QUAD
When you set your DVR on “EACH” mode, you can view each image displayed in a
single full screen by using the key buttons on the front panel of the DVR box.
When you set your DVR on “QUAD” mode, you can see the images from the 4
cameras in a quad screen, which means your TV screen will display 4 sections at the
same time.
VIEW
CONTROL In EACH mode, you can use the following keys to select the camera that you want to
see in full screen.
This View button controls FULL SCREEN display from CH 1 (Camera 1)
This View button controls FULL SCREEN display from CH 2 (Camera 2)
This View button controls FULL SCREEN display from CH 3 (Camera 3)
This View button controls FULL SCREEN display from CH 4 (Camera 4)
Quad screen: All images from 4 cameras are displayed at the same time in 4
separate sections on a single screen.

RECORD
FRAMERATE
Factory default setting is 30, which means DVR records the events at the speed of
30 shots of frames per second.
The higher the record frame rate, the more natural motion will be
displayed on the screen when you playback.
The lower the record frame rate, the more you can save space on the hard
disk drive.
There are 10 different record frame rate sets that you can choose.
VIDEO
QUALITY
There are three different video quality settings: NORMAL, LOW, HIGH
The higher video quality, the clearer images you’ll see when you
playback. T
he lower video quality, the more space you can save on the
hard disk drive.
* It make no different on screen display no matter which mode you choose.
However, it affects the video quality on screen when you playback.
REMOTE
CONTROL Basically, it supports IR remote controller to operate all of DVR functions. There are
two different settings: ON, OFF
On : IR remote controller function enable.
Off : IR remote controller function disable.
You can change a recording schedule during a day (24-hour period) using this
option. If the sensor device is attached to the DVR, it will add additional functions to
your recording.

The numbers above indicate the length of recording during a 24-hour period.
( T ) letter indicates non-stop automatic recording.
(M) letter indicates motion recording : It means that the DVR starts recording
automatically only when motion would be detected in front of camera. If motion
would disappear in front of camera, the DVR system would stop recording
automatically.
( S ) letter indicates sensor recording. It means that the DVR starts recording only
when a sensor device attached to the DVR has received movement signals in front
of the camera.
( --) This signal means that nothing will be recorded during this period.
NOTE : To activate motion function, make sure set ‘M’ on this menu

1. OVERWRITE ENABLED:
If you choose YES (default setting), recording continues and overwrites previous
recording when hard disk drive space is full. If you choose NO, the recording
session stops when all hard disk drive is full for recording.
2. MASTER HDD SIZE:
It shows the size of the primary hard disk drive installed in the DVR.
3. MASTER HDD USED:
It shows the space used on the first hard disk drive for recording.
4. MASTER HDD FORMAT:
If you format the hard drive, it will erase all the data recorded on the first hard disk
drive.
5. SLAVE HDD SIZE
(Note: Our current model doesn’t support this function)
It shows the space available that the secondary hard disk drive has in the DVR.
6. SLAVE HDD USED
(Note: Our current model doesn’t support this function)
It shows the space used on the secondary hard disk drive for recording.

7. SLAVE HDD FORMAT

If you format the hard drive, it will erase all the data recorded on the secondary
hard disk drive.
When you press the “SELECT” key you will be prompted to input a password when
the hard disk format menu appears.

When you key in the correct password, the following message will flash 3 times,
“Password Correct.” Otherwise, the following error message will be displayed on the

1. SENSOR RECORD TIME
It indicates the time recording period when that the sensor detected movements in
front of the camera.
2. ALARM OUT TIME
It indicates how long (in seconds) the alarm lasts after it sets off.
3. There are 3 different mode for sensor setting:
NOT INSTALLED, NORMAL-CLOSE and NORMAL-OPEN.

In NORMAL-OPEN mode, if an intruder cuts off the cable line that connects the
sensor to the DVR, the sensor recording starts automatically. In NORMAL-CLOSE
mode, if an intruder cuts off the cable line that connects the sensor to the DVR ,
the sensor recording will not start at all.

It supports software motion detection. You’ll find the above screen shot.
1. RECORD TIME:
It indicates the time recording period when that the motion detected movements in
a screen and how long record data after the movements have been detected in a
screen(5~30 second).
2. ALARM OUT TIME:
To set alarm active time for motion was detected.
When motion event is set alarm operation time.
3. Motion disable or enable:
Channel -1 ENABLE
Channel -2 DISABLE
ENABLE : The DVR system will record automatically when motion will be detected.
DISABLE: The DVR system will not record even if motion will be detected.
4. SENSITIVITY:
There is three different motion sensitivity :HIGH, NORMAL, LOW
HIGH: The software motion sensor responses for pretty minute movements.
NORMAL: Alittle movement would be ignored such as light wavelength.
LOW: Motion sensitivity is dullness. In case that lots of movements would be detected,
set the LOW position
5. CHANNEL POP-UP
If motion will be detected in a screen, the screen will be full screen in a live viewing
during 3 second automatically.

A live display rotation among channel 1, 2, 3, 4 in regular sequence with a ‘SELECT’
button on live display.
ROTATION TIME : It indicates screen rotation period(1~10 second).
To activate channel rotation, press ‘SELECT’ button in front panel or IR remote
controller. To disable the rotation function, press ‘SELECT’ button once more.

When you select, “PASSWORD CHANGE”, a password input menu replaces the “Sub
Menu”.
(The Factory Default Password is 111111)
You will then, be asked to input the following 3 pieces of information:

PASSWORD CONFIRM : - - - - - -
When the new password is accepted, the following screen message will flash:
Password changing !!!
Themessage will blink 5 times. Then the “OPTION MENU” will return.
If the password is not accepted, you will receive a message that informs you that it
wasn’t accepted and the“OPTION MENU” returns. You may try again by repeating the
same steps.

Use the “UP” and “DOWN” buttons on the front panel to move the “ ^ ”
cursor below the numbers back and forth. Then use the “SELECT ” button
to change the numeric values of date & time.
RECORD
CONTROL
When the “RECORD” button is pressed, the recording process starts
immediately. The recording channel indicator next to CH1, CH2, CH3,
CH4 appears in the center of the screen to indicate which camera is
running during recording period.
PLAYBACK
CONTROL
Playback Control:
(1) When you press the “u” (Play) button, you will be asked to input thetime
period that you want to select from the recorded video
(2) Press the “u” (Play) button again to view the recorded video.
(3) You may use a group of five buttons (1,2,3,4, All) under CHANNEL
(during playback) to select the camera/s that you desire to display on
your TV monitor. Full screen playback is available only when the camera
record selection is in “Each” mode.
To pause playback, press the “;” key.
(4) To back up a 10 seconds playback, press the “7” key.
(5) To play X4 way, press the “8” key.
