lighter while near batteries. Do not handle the battery while wearing vinyl clothing
because static electricity sparks are generated when vinyl clothing is rubbed. Review all
cautionary material on the Jump-N-Carry and in the engine compartment.
Always wear eye protection, appropriate protective clothing and other safety equipment
when working near lead-acid batteries. Do not touch eyes while working on or around
lead-acid batteries.
Always store clamps in their holsters, away from each other or common conductors.
Improper storage of clamps may cause the clamps to come in contact with each other,
or a common conductor, causing the battery to short circuit and generate high enough
heat to ignite most materials.
Use extreme care while working within the engine compartment, because moving parts
may cause severe injury. Read and follow all safety instructions published in the vehicle's
Owner's Manual.
While the battery in the Jump-N-Carry is a sealed unit with no free liquid acid, batteries
being jump started with the Jump-N-Carry unit likely contain liquid acids which are
hazardous if spilled.
Failure to follow instructions may

whenworkingwithalead-acidbattery.Alead-acidbatterycanproduceashort-
circuitcurrenthighenoughtoweldaringortheliketometal,causingasevere
burn.
• NEVERchargeorjumpstartafrozenbattery.
• Topreventarcing,NEVERallowclampstotouchtogetherortocontactthesame
pieceofmetal.
• Useofanattachmentnotrecommendedorsoldbythemanufacturermayresult
inariskofdamagetotheunitorinjurytopersonnel.
• TheBooster Cables maybeusedunderanyweathercondition–rain,snow,hot
orcoldtemperatures.
• Donotsubmergeinwater.
• Donotoperatewithflammablessuchasgasoline,etc.

Jump Starting Instructions
Safety Check List
AlwaysPerformthisStepBeforeUsetoEnsureSafeOperation.
1. Checktomakesurethattheclampsandcablesareingoodworkingorder. Signs
ofdamageinclude,butarenotlimitedtothefollowing:
  -Burnmarksonthejaws
  -Damagedclamphandles
  -Damagedclampsprings
  -Damagedcableswherecopperwiringmaybeexposed(insulationjacket
deteriorated,cutormissing)
VerifyingthesesimplecheckpointsbeforeeveryusewillkeepyourBoosterCablessafe
touseandincreaseitsservicelife.
Note: Both the battery to be jumped and the booster source must be of the same
voltage (6 or 12V, etc.).
Note: Power sources other than batteries should not exceed 15V for use with 12V
systems or 8V for use with a 6V system.
Note: Position the “host” vehicle, or other power source, adjacent to the “disabled”
vehicle with the discharged battery so that booster cables can be connected easily
between both vehicles. Make certain that the vehicles do not touch each other.
1.Turnoffallelectricalloadsandsettheparkingbrakeonallvehicles.Place
automatictransmissionvehiclesin“PARK”andmanualtransmissionvehiclesin
“NEUTRAL”.
2.Besurethattheventcapsaretightandlevelonbothbatteries.Placeadamp
clothoveranyventcapsoneachbattery,makingcertainitisclearoffanblades,
beltsandothermovingparts.
3.Determinewhetherthedischarged(dead)batteryhasthenegative(-)orthe
positive(+)terminalconnectedtotheground.Thegroundleadisconnectedto
theengineblock,thevehicleframe,orsomeothergoodmetallicground.The
batteryterminalconnectedtothestarteristheonethatisnotgrounded.(All
vehiclesmanufacturedintheU.S.A.after1955havethenegativebatteryterminal
grounded.AllEuropeanandAsianpassengervehiclesmanufacturedafter1971
havethenegativebatteryterminalgrounded.)
4.Onanegativegroundsystem,connectthepositive(POS,+)cabletothepositive
(pos,+)terminalsofbothvehiclebatteries(hostanddisabledvehicles).Donot
allowtheclampstotouchanyvehiclepartotherthanthebatterypositive(POS,
+)terminal.
5.Onanegativegroundsystem,connectoneendofthenegative(NEG,-)cableto
thenegative(NEG,-)terminalofthehostvehiclebattery.Connecttheotherend
ofthenegative(NEG,-)cabletoavehiclegroundonthedisabledvehicle(engine
block,vehicleframeorotherheavy-gauge,non-moving,unpaintedmetalpart–
neverconnecttocarburetor,fuellines,orsheetmetalbodyparts).Again,donot
allowtheclampstotoucheachotheroracommonconductor.
6.Startthehostvehicle’sengineandallowtoidle.

7.Attempttostartthedisabledvehicle.Donotcrankformorethan6seconds.
Ifvehicledoesnotstartinthisamountoftime,turnignitionofthedisabled
vehicletoOFFandallowtorestfor3minutesbeforeattemptingagain.
8.Oncedisabledvehicleisstarted,removeboostercablesintheopposite
orderoftheconnectionsequence.
Jump-N-Carry Limited Warranty
CloreAutomotivewarrantsthisproducttobefreefromdefectsinmaterialor
workmanshipforaperiodofoneyearfromthedateoforiginalenduserpurchase.
Thiswarrantyextendstoeachpersonwhoacquireslawfulownershipwithinoneyearof
theoriginalretailpurchase,butisvoidiftheproducthasbeenabused,altered,misused
orimproperlypackagedanddamagedwhenreturnedforrepair.
Thiswarrantyappliestotheproductonlyanddoesnotapplytoanyaccessoryitems
includedwiththeproductwhicharesubjecttowearfromusage;thereplacementor
repairoftheseitemsshallbeattheexpenseoftheowner.

Faites preuve du plus grand soin quand vous travaillez dans le compartiment du moteur :

Exécuteztoujourscesétapesavantd’utiliserl’appareilpourvousassurerd’un
fonctionnementsûr.
1. Vérifiezquelespincesetlescâblessontenbonétatdefonctionnement.
Lessignesdedétériorationcomprennent:
  –tracesdebrûluressurlesmâchoires;
  –poignéesdepincesendommagées;
  –ressortsdepincesendommagéset
  –câblesendommagés;lecâblageencuivrepeutêtreapparent(gaineisolante
endommagée,fendueoumanquante).
Cesvérificationssimplesàeffectueravantchaqueusagepermettentdevérifierque
votreJump-N-Carryestsûretd’enprolongerladuréedevie.
Remarque:La batterie à charger et l’aide au démarrage (booster) doivent être de la même
tension (6 ou 12V, etc.).
Remarque: Les sources d’alimentation autres que les batteries ne doivent pas dépasser
les 15V sur les systèmes 12V ou 8V sur les systèmes 6V.
Remarque: Positionner le véhicule “fonctionnel”, ou l’autre source d’alimentation,
adjacent(e) au véhicule “en panne” de façon à ce que les câbles de l’aide au démarrage
puissent être facilement branchés aux deux véhicules. Assurez-vous que les véhicules ne se
touchent pas.

batteries.Placerunchiffonhumidesurn’importequelbouchondechaquebatterie,
envousassurantdenepasleplaceràproximitédeshélicesdeventilateur,des
courroiesetautrespiècesenmouvement.
3. Déterminersilabornenégative(-)oupositive(+)delabatteriedéchargée(morte)est
connectéeàlaterre.Lefildeterreestreliéaublocmoteur,auchâssisduvéhicule
ouàuneautrebasemétalliqueappropriée.Labornedebatteriereliéeaudémarreur
estcellequin’estpasmiseàlaterre.(SurtouslesvéhiculesfabriquésauxÉtats-Unis
après1955,labornenégativedelabatterieestmiseàlaterre.Surtouslesvéhicules
detourismefabriquésenEuropeetenAsieaprès1971,labornenégativedela
batterieestmiseàlaterre.)
4. Surunsystèmenégatifàlamasse,connecterlecâblepositif(pos,+)àlaborne
positive(pos,+)delabatteriedechaquevéhicule(véhiculefonctionneletvéhiculeen
panne).Nepaslaisserlespincestouchertouteautrepartieduvéhicule,seulementla
bornepositive(pos,+)delabatterie.
5.Surunsystèmenégatifàlamasse,connecterlecâblenégatif(nég,-)surlaborne
négative(nég,-)delabatterieduvéhiculefonctionnel.Connecterl’autreextrémité
ducâblenégatif(nég,-)àlamasseduvéhiculeenpanne(blocmoteur,châssisou
autrepartiemétalliquenon-peinte,résistanteetsansmouvement-nejamaisrelier
aucarburateur,auxconduitesdecarburantouplaquesdetôle).Làencore,nejamais
