Introduction:
The USB 2.0 serial adapter is a smart and convenient accessory for connecting RS-232 serial devices to your USB-
equipped Windows host computer. It provides a bridge connection with a standard DB 9-pin male serial port connector at
one end and a standard Type-A USB plug connector at the other end. You simply connect the serial device to the serial
port of the cable and plug the USB connector into your PC USB port. It offers a simple and easy way of adding serial
connections to your PC without having to go through inserting a serial card and traditional port conguration.

System Requirements:
• Windows® 98, Windows® ME, Windows® 2000, or Windows® XP operating system

Installing the device:
This section will guide you thru the installation procedure of the USB 2.0 serial adapter in
Windows® XP, 2000, ME, 98 operating systems.
Note: Please take notice of the installation order. First, plug in the USB to serial adapter and then run the Install
Shield wizard
The following steps will show how to install the device under Windows® XP. Basically, the procedures are also somewhat
the same for other Windows®operating systems.
1. Connect the USB 2.0 serial adapter to the USB port on your PC, the computer will find the new hardware
automatically.

2. On the Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard page, choose “Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)”,
and click next.
3. Click “Browse” and choose the right driver in the CD-ROM, and click next.
4. Hardware searching automatically.

5. Software certification identified page (only under Windows® XP system), please click “Continue Anyway.”
6. Click “Finish” to complete the installation.
7. Hardware searching automatically.

8. Right click “My computer”, select “properties” and check the result of the installation.
9. You can see the device information by clicking “Device Manager”.
10. Hardware running normally.
Installation for Vista®operating systems:
Windows® Vista only needs the installation of the “PL-2303 Vista Driver Installer.exe”.
1. Double click “PL-2303 Vista Driver Installer.exe”.

2. Click “Next”.
3. Accept the terms of the license agreement and click “Next”.
4. Click “Finish” to complete setup program.

5. Complete the installation connecting the devices, there will be a pop-up message, please follow the instructions.
6. The installation procedure is finished.

Einleitung:
Der serielle USB 2.0 Adapter ist ein praktisches Zubehörteil zum Anschluss von Geräten mit seriellem RS-232 Anschluss
an einem Windows-PC mit USB-Ports. Er bietet eine Verbindung mit standardmäßigem DB 9-Pin Seriell Stecker auf der
einen Seite und einem Standard USB-Stecker Typ A auf der anderen Seite. Schließen Sie das serielle Gerät einfach
am seriellen Anschluss des Kabels an und stecken Sie dann den USB-Stecker in den USB-Port Ihres PCs. Hiermit
bekommen Sie eine leichte Möglichkeit bei neuen PCs serielle Geräte anzuschließen, ohne den Einbau einer seriellen
Karte und der damit verbundenen Port-Konguration.

Installation:
Dieser Abschnitt führt Sie durch die Installation des USB 2.0 seriellen Adapters unter
Windows® XP, 2000, ME, 98 Betriebssystemen.
Hinweis: Bitte beachten Sie die Reihenfolge der Installation. Schließen Sie zunächst den seriellen Adapter am
USB-Port des PCs an, danach lassen Sie den Installationsassistenten ablaufen.
Die nachstehenden Schritte zeigen Ihnen, wie das Gerät unter Windows® XP installiert wird. Der Ablauf entspricht in etwa
den anderen Windows®Betriebssystemen.
1. Schließen Sie den USB 2.0 seriellen Adapter am USB-Port Ihres PC an, der Computer erkennt die neue Hardware
automatisch.
2. Im Neue Hardware-Assistenten wählen Sie „Software von einer Liste oder bestimmten Quelle installieren“, dann
klicken Sie „Weiter“.

3. Klicken Sie „Suchen“ und wählen Sie den richtigen Treiber von der CD-ROM, dann klicken Sie „Weiter“.
4. Die Hardware wird automatisch gesucht.
5. Das Menü zur Identifizierung der Software (nur unter Windows® XP) wird angezeigt, klicken Sie „Trotzdem
weitermachen“.

6. Klicken Sie „Fertigstellen“, um die Installation zu beenden.
7. Die Hardware wird automatisch gesucht.
8. Rechtsklicken Sie „Arbeitsplatz“, wählen Sie „Eigenschaften“ und überprüfen Sie das Installationsergebnis.
