Introduction:
The USB 2.0 serial adapter is a smart and convenient accessory for connecting RS-232 serial devices to your USB-
equipped Windows host computer. It provides a bridge connection with a standard DB 9-pin male serial port connector at
one end and a standard Type-A USB plug connector at the other end. You simply connect the serial device to the serial
port of the cable and plug the USB connector into your PC USB port. It offers a simple and easy way of adding serial
connections to your PC without having to go through inserting a serial card and traditional port conguration.

Installing the device:
This section will guide you thru the installation procedure of the USB 2.0 serial adapter in
Windows® XP, 2000, ME, 98 operating systems.
Note: Please take notice of the installation order. First, plug in the USB to serial adapter and then run the Install
Shield wizard
The following steps will show how to install the device under Windows® XP. Basically, the procedures are also somewhat
the same for other Windows®operating systems.
1. Connect the USB 2.0 serial adapter to the USB port on your PC, the computer will find the new hardware
automatically.
