• Anyunqualifiedworkorrepairscarriedout
on the appliance are dangerous since
there is a risk of electrical shocks and
short circuits. No such work or repairs
may be carried out in order to avoid in-
jury to persons and damage to the appli-
ance. For this reason it is essential for
such work or repairs to be carried out by
a qualified electrical technician, for
example,amember of customer service.
• Overheatedoilorfatcanigniteonthehob.
Cooking must be monitored.
Never pour water onto oil or fat that has
ignitedsincethereisariskofburns.Cover
the cookware to smother the flames.
Switch off the cooking zone and let the
cookware cool down on the hob.
• Electric appliance connection cables
mustnotcomeintocontactwith hot cook-
ing zones since this may result in a short
circuit if the cable insulation material be-
comes damaged. Always keep electric
cables away from the hob.
• Neverplacecombustibleoreasily-inflam-
mable objects or objects which may be-
come deformed on heating right under-
neath the hob.
• Caution:infantsandchildren are particu-
larly at risk of suffering burns or scalds
since they are not yet able to recognise
therisks.Alwayskeepsmallchildrenaway
fromthehobandonlyallow older children
to use the hob under supervision.
• The surfaces of heating and cooking
appliancesbecomehotduring operation.
For this reason small children must
always be kept away from them.Always
usepotholders and oven gloves anduse
yourappliancewithcare in ordertoavoid-
ing burning and scalding.
Safety instructions
• Do not put any metal objects, such as
knives, forks, spoons and tops of jars or
bottles onto the induction hob since they
may become hot.
• Switchthecookingzone offwiththe touch
control.Donotuse the potdetectionfunc-
tionalone,inorder to avoid the appliance
beingswitchedonagainunintentionally.
• Magnetising cookware made of steel,
steel enamel or cast iron must be used
forcooking and baking withtheinduction
hob.
• High-pressurecleanersandsteamjetsmay
notbeusedforcleaningtheappliance.
• Should any tears or breaks occur on the
glassceramichob,theappliancemust be
put out of operation, since there is a risk
of electrical shock. Switch off the cook-
ing zones and the appliance fuse in the
fuse box. After doing so, please contact
customerservice.
Avoiding damage
• Glass ceramic hobs can be damaged if
objects are placed on them.
• Glassceramichobsare extremelyrobust,
but they are not unbreakable. Hard or
sharpobjectswhichfallontothehobmay
damage the surface.
• Grainsofsand orroughcast-ironpotscan
scratch the surface and the trimmings.
• Donotpushanycookware around on the
hobsincethismayscratchthetrimmings.
Liftup cookware when moving it from one
cooking zone to another.
Proper use
The induction hob is designed to be built
into a worktop. It may only be used for
preparing food in homes.
It may not be used for any purpose other
than that for which it is intended.

Operation with sensors
The glass ceramic hob is operated by
means of touch control sensors which are
located on the right-hand side of the hob.
Thesensorsare operated as follows: touch
the squares containing the symbols on the
glass ceramic surface lightly with your fin-
gertip.Each operation correctlycarried out
is confirmed by means of an acoustic sig-
nal.
On/off sensor (18 in the illustration)
This sensor is used to switch the hob on
and off. It is therefore the ”main switch”.
Cooking zone selection sensor
(9)
The cooking zone is selected with one of
four sensors.Asetting (e.g. cooking level)
is then made.
Plus sensor / minus sensor (15)
These sensors are used to set the cooking
levelsand the switch-offtime.
Touchingbothofthesensorssimultaneously
will delete any of the cooking level settings
orthe switch-offtime (0 is thenindicated).
Lock sensor (17)
The lock sensor is used to block the
sensors.
Power sensor (10)
This sensor is used to activate the corre-
sponding cooking zone at high power.
Automatic switch-off sensor (11)
The automatic switch-off device integrated
inthe appliance enables one cookingzone
whichhasbeen switched on tobeswitched
off automatically after a specific period of
time.
Operation
Description of the displays
Cooking setting display (7)
Thecookingsetting displayshowsthecook-
ing level selected, or, if the cooking zone
has been switched off, it will show an ”H”
forresidualheat still available.
The power setting shows a ”P” when it is
activated and in the case of the automatic
boosterfunctionitshowsan”A”inalternation
withthecookinglevelselected.
A ” ” is shown for pan detection.
Ready-for-setting display (8)
A setting can be made after the ready-for-
settingdisplay of acooking zone haslit up.
Lock control lamp (16)
The lock control lamp shows the lock
function.
Commencing operation
Once the hob has been installed and the
electrical connection (mains) has been
made, the controls will be tested automati-
cally.This test is carried out quickly.
Wipe over the surface of the hob with a
sponge and washing-up water and rub it
dry.

The principle of how the induc-
tion hob functions
The hob is equipped with induction cook-
ing zones which are extremely efficient for
pre-cooking and for cooking.
Heat is produced in the base of the cook-
ingpot,where it isrequired,withoutanyloss
of heat through the glass ceramic surface.
This results in a lower consumption of
energythaninthecaseofstandardradiation
elements.
Theglassceramiccookingzone itselfisnot
directly heated up; it is only warmed up by
the heat generated by the pot. This is
indicatedafterswitch-offbytheresidual heat
display.
In the case of an induction cooking zone
heatingtakesplacebymeansofaninduction
coil located under the glass ceramic plate.
This coil generates a magnetic field which
producesinductioncurrentsinthe magnetic
base of the cooking or frying pans. These
currents heat up the base of the pans.
Cookware suitable for induction
hobs
Inductionhobs will onlyfunction perfectly if
the correct type of cookware is used!
Cookware made of steel, steel-enamel or
cast iron is suitable for induction hobs.
Stainless steel pots with a copper or
aluminium base is not suitable and neither
isglass cookware.
On purchasing the respective cookware
itisessential toensurethat it isindicated
as being ”suitable for induction”.

Tips on how to save energy
Here you will find some important hints on
how to use your new induction hob and
induction cookware economically and
efficiently.
• When purchasing cookware please note
thatitisfrequentlythediameter of the top
ofthe pot that isindicated.Thisisusually
larger than the base of the pot.
• Pressure cookers are particularly useful
for reducing time and energy required,
sincetheyare tightlyclosedandcookwith
pressure. Short cooking times also
preservevitamins.
• Alwaysensurethatthereissufficientliquid
in the pressure cooker since if the pot
dries out the cooking zone and the pot
may be damaged due to overheating.
• Ifpossible,alwayscovercookingpotswith
atightly-fittinglid.
• Usetherightsizeofpotfortherespective
quantity of food. A large pot which is
hardly filled will use up a lot of energy.
Pan detection device
Anadvantageofinductionheatingisthepan
detectiondevice. If thereis no cookingpan
ona cooking zoneorif the panistoo small,
noelectricity will betransmitted.
When a cooking zone is switched on, the
pan display ” ” will light up in the cooking
level display. If within ten minutes, a pan is
placedonthe induction cooking zone,itwill
recognise the pan and switch on at the
cookinglevel set.
The power supply will be cut off when the
pan is removed from the cooking zone.
Shouldsmaller potsorpansbe placedona
cookingzone and thepandetection device
stillbeactivated, onlysufficientelectricityfor
therespective pot or panwill begenerated.
Cooking levels
There are nine power settings for the
cooking zones.
In the table below you will find examples of
what the respective settings are used for.

Please note:
• An acoustic signal will sound every time
a sensor is touched.
• Once the hob has been switched on with
the on/off sensor , other sensors must
beactivatedwithin10seconds otherwise

• The control system will acknowledge
activation of the minus sensor or the
plussensor ifa cookingzonehasbeen
selected,i.e.therespective ready-for-set-
ting display must light up.
•Do not put any metal objects, such as

off manually after use (”0"). This
should not be carried out by the pan
detection mode alone, in order to

Operation
Lock / childproof safety lock
The lock can be used to block operation of
the hob and a setting (for example, cook-
ing level 4). Only the on/off switch sensor
will be ableto be usedin order toswitch
off the hob.
The lock will remain activated even if the
hob has been switched off.
The lock thus also serves as a childproof
lock to prevent the hob from being used
intentionallyorunintentionally.
When cooking:
1.Touch the lock sensor .
Thelockcontrol lamp will lightupandthe
sensors will be blocked.
2.The lock is released if the lock sensor
istouchedagain.Thecontrollampwill
be switched off.
Note: Ifthelockhasbeenactivatedandthe
hobisswitched offwiththe on/offsensor ,
thelockremainsactivated.Itmust therefore
bedeactivatedprior to cooking again.
Residual heat display
The glass ceramic hob is equipped with a
residual heat display, ”H”. It does not heat
up itself; instead it is heated up by heat
generated by the cookware.
As long as the ”H” lights up after switch-off
the residual heat can be used to melt food
or to keep it warm.
The cooking zone can still be hot when the
letter ”H” has switched off. Risk of burning!

Automatic switch-off
Theautomaticswitch-offdeviceinstalledinthe
appliance is used to switch off one cooking
zone which has been switched on after a
certainperiodoftime.Timeperiodsofbetween
1 minute and 99 minutes can be set.
1.Theready-for-settingdisplayontheselected
cooking zone must light up. It may be
necessary to touch the cooking zone se-
lection sensor.
2.Touch the minus sensor or the plus
sensor immediatelyafterwards.
Select a cooking level from 1 to 9.
3.Touchtheautomaticswitch-off sensor
immediatelyafterwards.Theready-for-setting
displayonthe automaticswitch-offlightsup.
4.Touch the plus sensor (or the minus
sensor ) immediately afterwards in order
to enter the cooking time at between
1 minute and 99 minutes. The control lamp
nexttotheswitch-offtimedisplaywillindicate
the cooking zone for which the automatic
switch-offhas been activated.
5.The cooking zone willbeswitchedoffwhen
the cooking time has elapsed and a buzzer
willsoundfor2minutes.Thisbuzzercan be
switched off by touching the automatic
switch-off sensor .
Please note
• Thecookingtimeset can beadjustedatany
time.Activate the respective cooking zone,
touchtheautomaticswitch-offsensor and
adjust the cooking time with the minus
sensor or the plus sensor .
• To terminate the automatic switch-off: acti-
vatetherespectivecookingzone,touchthe
automaticswitch-offsensor andtouchthe
minus sensor and the plus sensor
simultaneouslyonce.
• The automatic switch-off can also be used
as a minute minder if no cooking zone has
beenactivatedwhenthetime is set.

The power setting remains activated for

While the power setting is activated the
output of the other cooking zones will be
reduced. This is indicated in the cooking
level display by means of alternating the
powerlevel set andthelimited power level.
1.The ready-for-setting display on the
selected cooking zone must light up.
Touch the cooking zone selection
sensor to achieve this.
2.Touch the power sensor once to
switch on the power setting. The cook-
ing level display will show a ”P”.
3.After 10 minutes the power setting is
automaticallyswitchedoff.The”P”willno
longer light up and the cooking zone will
switch down to cooking level 9.
Terminating the power setting:
1.Touch the minus sensor or the
power sensor until the cooking level
displayindicates ”9".
Note
Whenthepower setting has beenswitched
off the other cooking zones can be operat-
ed at full power again.

The maximum operating period of each
cookingzone is limitedandcan be seen on
thetable.
Whenthesafetycut-offofaparticularcook-
ing zone has been activated, the cooking
level display will indicate a ”0", or an ”H” if
residualheatisstill available.
Once the on/off switch sensor has been
touched the controls are once again ready
for operation.
Operating errors
• Shouldmorethanonesensorbetouched
simultaneously (apart from the plus and
minussensors),thecontrolswillconsider
this to be an invalid activation of the
sensor.
• Should one or more sensors be touched
for longer than 10 seconds, the controls
willpresumethatafaulthas occurred and
will switch off automatically. This may
occur unintentionally if food boils over or
if a pot has been placed on a cooking
zone.
Overheating protection
The induction hob has a built-in device to
protect it against overheating, thus ensur-
ingthattheelectronics system does not get
damaged.
Theoverheating protection modeoperates
in several stages. If the temperature of the
hob reaches an extremely high level, the
two-stage fan will be activated. Should this
beinsufficient,thepower setting willbede-
activated and then the power output of
individual cooking zones may be reduced
or switched right off. Once the hob has
cooled down the full power output will be
availableagain.

Important: Neveruseaggressivecleaning
agentssuchascoarseabrasives,roughpot
scourers,rustremoversandstainremovers,
etc.
Cleaning after use
1.Always clean the entire hob when it has
becomestained,ifpossibleeverytimeit has
been used. Use a damp cloth and a little
washing-up liquid. Then wipe it dry with a
clean cloth to ensure that no washing up
liquid remains on the surface.
Weekly care
2. Clean the entire hob thoroughly once a
week with standard cleaning agents for
glassceramic. It isessentialto observe the
instructionsoftherespectivemanufacturer.
When applied, the cleaning agent forms a
protectivefilmwhichisresistanttowaterand
dirt.Dirtwillremainonthefilm and can then
be easily removed. The hob must then be
wiped dry with a soft cloth.
Ensure that no cleaning agent remains on
thesurface,sinceit will have an aggressive
effect when the hob is heated up and will
cause the surface to change.
Cleaning and care
Switch off the hob and let it cool down prior
to cleaning.
When cleaning the hob please ensure that
you only wipe over the on/off switch
sensor brieflyinorderto avoid switching
ontheapplianceunintentionally.

Specific stains
Stubborn dirt and stains (limestone or
stainswhichshinelike mother of pearl)can
be removed best when the hob is still hand
warm. Use standard cleaning agents and
clean the hob as indicated under Item 2.
Food which has boiled over must firstly
besoaked with a wetclothandthe remains
must then be removed with a special glass
scraperforglass ceramic hobs.Then clean
the hob as indicated under Item 2.
Burnt sugar and melted plastic must be
removedimmediately,when still hot,with a
glass scraper. Then clean the hob as
indicated under Item 2.
Grains of sand, which may drop onto the
hob when potatoes are being peeled or
lettuceisbeingcleaned,can cause scratch-
eswhenpotsaremovedaround on thehob.
Please ensure that no grains of sand are
left on the surface of the hob.
Changes in the colour of the hob do not
have any influence on the functioning and
the stability of the glass ceramic. The hob
has not been damaged; these are merely
stains which were not removed and have
thereforebecomeencrustedon thesurface.
Shiny areas result from the base of pots
scrapingonthe hob,particularlywhen cook-
ware with an aluminium base is used or as
a result of unsuitable cleaning agents.
These marks are extremely difficult to
removewithstandardcleaningagents.You
mayneedto repeat the cleaningprocedure
several times.Aggressive cleaning agents
andpotsscrapingon the hob willcausethe
patterndecorationtowear offwith time and
dark marks will result.

After being switched on with the on/off
sensor the hob switches itself off
again:
If after 10 seconds no cooking zone has
been switched on, the control system will
presume that a fault has occurred and will
switchoffautomatically.
The hob or a cooking zone has suddenly
switched off
• Did you operate the on/off switch
sensor by accident?
• Havethesensors been partlycovered by
a damp cloth, fluid or a metallic object?
Pleaseremove.
• Hasthe safety cut-offbeen activated, i.e.
a cooking zone was used for longer than
a certain period? See the section on
”Safety cut-off”.
The cooking zones cannot be switched
off
• Havethecookingzonesbeen locked, i.e.
is the lock control lamp on? Touch the
lock sensor in order to disengage the
lock.
The pot indication ” ” is shown?
A cooking zone was switched on and the
hobis expecting a suitablepot tobeplaced
on the cooking zone. Only then will power
be generated.
Any work or repairs carried out by unquali-
fiedpersonsisdangerous, as there is arisk
of electrical shocks and short circuits. No
unauthorised persons may carry out such
work or repairs on the appliance, in order
to avoid injury to persons and damage to
theappliance.
Please note
Should your appliance develop a fault use
thisinstructionmanualtoseeifyou are able
torectify the faultyourself.
Below you will find useful tips on how to
rectifyfaults.
The fuses blow repeatedly …
Call customer service or a qualified
electrician.
You can’t switch your induction hob on?
• Has the fuse in the domestic installation
system(fuse box) beenactivated?
• Havethecookingzonesbeen locked, i.e.
is the lock control lamp on? Touch the
lock sensor in order to disengage the
lock.
• Havethesensors been partlycovered by
a damp cloth, fluid or a metallic object?
Pleaseremove.
• Is the wrong cookware being used? See
the section on ”Cookware for induction
hobs”.

Safety instructions for installing
kitchen units
• Veneers, adhesives or plastic coverings
of adjacent units must be heat resistant
(>100°C). Any veneers and coverings
which are not sufficiently heat-resistant
may become deformed.
• Protection against accidental contact
must be ensured on installation.
• Facing strips made of solid wood for the
connectionbetween the worktopandthe
wallbehindthehobmaybeusedprovided
that the minimal clearances indicated on
theinstallationdiagramsare observed.
• Minimalclearance for the hobcut-outsat
the rear as indicated on the installation
diagrams must be observed.
• If the hob is installed right next to a tall
cupboard, a safety clearance of at least
40 mm must be maintained. The side
panels of the tall cupboard must be
covered with heat resistant material. For
working purposes, however, the clear-
ance should be at least 300 mm.
• The clearance between the hob and an
extractor hood must be at least equiva-
lentto that indicatedin the installation in-
structions for the extractor hood.
• Packaging materials (plastic foil,
polystyrene, nails, etc.) must be kept out
of the reach of children, since they may
be a source of danger. Small parts could
be swallowed and foil may lead to suffo-
cating.
Installation instructions
Installation
Important:
• Should the hob be installed above unit
parts (side panels, drawers, etc.) an
intermediate floor must be installed with
a clearance of at least 20 mm to the
underside of the hob, to prevent any
accidentalcontact.Theintermediate floor
must be attached so that it can only be
removed with tools (see diagram).
• If the hob is to be installed above a built-
in oven, the oven must be equipped with
a cooling fan.
• Anycrossbarslocated under the worktop
must be removed, at least in the region
of the worktop cut-out.
• In order to avoid a risk of fire, it must be
ensured that no inflammable or easily-
combustibleobjectsorobjectswhich may
become deformed as a result of heat are
placed right next to the hob.
Sealing the hob
The hob sealing enclosed is to be
completelyfitted prior toinstallation.
Itmust be ensuredthat no liquids canseep
betweenthe edge ofthe hob andthe work-
top or between the worktop and the wall
intoanyelectricalapplianceswhich may be
installedunderneath.
On fitting the hob into a ceramic worktop
toporone withanysimilartop(tiles), sealing
whichmaybeonthehobmustberemoved,
and sealing made of a plastic sealing
material such as heat-resistant silicone
rubber(notincludedinthescopeofdelivery)
is to be applied between the hob and the
worktop.

Ventilation
The bank panel of the bottom cupboard
must be open in the area of the cut-out to
provide for an exchange of air.
The front crossbar of the unit must be re-
movedin order tocreate an airvent across
thewholewidthoftheapplianceunderneath
the worktop.
Theremustbesufficientspacebetween the
induction hob and kitchen units or built-in
appliancestoallowfor adequate ventilation
of the induction system.
Theventilation openings must be thermally
separated from one another by means of
the shield supplied in order to prevent the
air heated up from flowing back on the
induction side for cold air.
Attention! The shield may not cover the

Electrical connection
Important
• Anyexcessivelengthofcablenotrequired
forconnectionmaynot be laid in the area
of installation of the hob.
• Onconnecting the device tothe mains, a
device which enables all of the poles of
theapplianceto bedisconnectedfromthe
mains with a minimum gap construction
of at least 3 mm must be provided.
Suitable disconnecting devices include
LS circuit breakers, fuses (screw plug
fuses must be removed at the socket),
fault current switches and contactors.
• Leadsinsulatedwith PVC(typeHO5VV-F
with green/yellow earthed leads) or more
superiorleadscanbeusedforconnection.
• Prior to connection a check must be
madeastowhetherthe voltageindicated
on the nameplate complies with the
powersupplyavailable.
Procedure
• Remove the connection covering under-
neath the hob.
• The protective conductor must be
sufficiently long so that, in the event of a
failure of the strain relief, it will only be
stressedaftertheconductingleadsofthe
connection wire.
• Lead the connecting lead through the
strain relief cleat and screw it tight.
• Connectthemainsconnectingleadto the
clamps according to the circuit diagram.
• Screwon the connection coveringagain.
The appliance may only be connected to
themains by customerserviceor by an au-
thorisedelectrician!
Improperinstallationwilldamagepartsofthe
appliance,in which casethereis no entitle-
ment to claim for compensation against
guarantee!
The connected power voltage (230V / N)
must be checked by a professional

Worktop cut-out
The cut-out in the worktop should be car-
riedout aspreciselyas possiblewithagood-
quality, straight saw-blade or withasurface
milling cutter. The cut edges should then
besealedsothatnomoisture can seep into
them.
The hob cut-out is prepared in accordance
with the diagrams.
Itis essential thattheglass ceramic hob be
level and flush on installation. Twisting or
warpingcancausethe glass plate to break.
• Check the sealing of the hob to ensure
that it is properly in place and that there
are no gaps.
• Then space the clips as indicated in the
followingdiagramandinsert themintothe
worktop cut-out. Due to the horizontal
catch no depth alignment is necessary.
• Now put the hob down on the left-hand
side as illustrated (1), align it (2) and clip
it in (3).
Should the worktop cut-out have been
made a little too large, the clips can be
screwed in order to increase the initial ten-
sion of their springs.
