AMS 2010 HFC LEAKAGE METER

The keyboard of the AMS 2010 meter is shown in Fig. 1.

To switch on the meter (or switch it of) press the red b tton “3” .
After the meter has been switched on, yo will see the Main Men screen (Fig. 2).

To choose the mode, highlight it with the navigation keys (left arrow , right arrow
, p arrow and down arrow ) and pres the Enter key .
Yo can choose the following operation modes: Leakage , Spectr m , Config ration
and Info .
If yo want to begin the leakage meas rement, choose the icon and press Enter .
Yo will see the Leakage screen (Fig. 3).

The screen displays the GPS info on the screen. If there is no GPS signal or yo do not want
to se the GPS option, simply press Enter . The time necessary for initialization of the
GPS receiver may vary from a few seconds p to 2 min tes.

The Leakage screen displays the meas rement freq ency (121.400 MHz), the tagger 1 and 2
freq encies (22 and 23 Hz, respectively), the act al distance to the leak so rce (10 m) and the
leakage val e (E field intensity 981.7 µV/m). The screen also shows the Max Hold val e
(981), time (01:03), the battery stat s, the charger stat s, the antenna type (Hand), the GPS
receiver stat s (No GPS Fix). If the meter detects the tagger, it will be shown on the screen (!
TAG1! and/or !TAG2!). There is also a bar graph scale (on the left) for q ick optical
assessment of the leakage level. If yo want to stop the meas rement, press the “0” key .
The meas rement files will be saved. If yo want to choose the antenna type, press the SHIFT
key consec tively (yo may choose Hand, Car, Upstream and Misc antennas).
If yo want to choose the Config option, highlight the icon with the navigation keys and
press Enter . The Config ration Men will appear on the screen (Fig. 4).

If yo want to set p parameters related to leakage meas rement, highlight Measure and
press . Yo will see the screen shown in Fig. 5.

Press the left arrow key if yo want to go back to the Config Men .

If yo want to change the test freq ency, highlight Measure Frequency and press Enter
. Using n merical keys enter the new freq ency in the dialog field and press the left
arrow key in order to go back to the Config Men . If the entered val e is o tside the
valid freq ency range, the freq ency field will display “---.---“ and yo sho ld enter the
correct val e again.
Highlight TAG 1/2 Frequency and press if yo want to change the tagger freq ency.
Choose the proper freq ency val e sing the p or down arrow keys .
Highlight Distance, Level units or Antenna type and press Enter if yo want to
change one of these parameters. Choose the proper parameter val e sing the p or down
arrow keys . Press the left arrow key in order to go back to the Config
Men .
If yo highlight Date&Time from the Config ration Men and press , yo may choose
Date or Time. Press or to enter the dialog field and set p date or time sing the
n merical keys (Fig. 6).

If yo choose GPS&GE option from the Config ration Men (by highlighting them and
pressing ), yo may t rn the GPS receiver on or off and enable/disable the Google Earth

option (Fig. 7). Simply highlight the proper option, press and se the arrow keys
to set p the proper parameter val e. Press the left arrow key in order to go back
to the Config Men .

Yo can change the display contrast and color by choosing the olor & ontrast option
from the Config Men (Fig. 8). Highlight the req ired parameter and press or to
enter the dialog field and set p the req ired parameter with the arrow keys .

If yo want to charge the meter, simply connect it with the USB port of any comp ter. The
charging stat s and battery stat s are shown on the screen (Fig. 9). The USB port is switched
off to save energy. If yo want to switch it on, simply press the SHIFT key . Yo can
switch on/of the USB port at any time (except the leakage meas rement mode). When the port
is off, the meter ses its internal memory (the memory icon on the top of the screen – Fig.10).
When the port is on, the meter reso rces are available to any PC connected to the USB port
(the cable icon – Fig.11).
