1. Brief Introduction
DC regulated power supply of AC/DC series switch made by Kaidi is a new kind of power supply
using the latest technology. Based on years of experiences in design, the power supply adopts new PWM
control chip and rapid TMOS switch tube with high reliability. It meets the requirements of full voltage AC
input, with protection against short circuit, overload, and over-temperature and over-voltage failure. Its
no-load power consumption is less than 0.5W@240VAC, which meets the demand of California Energy
Commission (CEC). The power supply has been widely applied to various household appliances that require
DC power supply.

Please read the contents in this manual carefully!
In this way mistakes may be avoided when you install or connect to switch power supply.
Mistakes may result in:
zHuman injury and accidents;
zDamage to switch power supply or significantly shorten service life;
zDamage to terminal products.

This manual can be used only for Kaidi switch power supply and terminal devices approved
by Kaidi.
Kaidi shall bear no responsibilities for damages or dangers caused by the following:
zOperations fail to follow instructions in the manual;
zReform the products without permission from Kaidi;
zUse parts and accessories that are not made or approved by Kaidi, which may lead to
damages or dangers.

2. Restrictions in Use
Cautions!
zChildren or people that need help can touch switch power supply products only under
adult care.
zChildren are forbidden to play with switch power supply.
2.1 Before using this product, please read product introduction and instructions first, observe wiring marks,
and confirm input voltage in line with the product.
2.2 For a large voltage power supply, there are several wiring terminals on its output terminal. In addition,
the wiring terminals are internally connected (equal to one-channel power supply). Thus the output
terminal should be accessed in load balance.
2.3 When wiring, please cut off the input power supply.
2.4 The switch power supply is a heating element. Please install it in a ventilated and dust-proofing
environment so as to prolong power supply service life. No package for the switch power supply. No
use in a flammable or explosive gases or vapors (such as anesthetic) environment, or a humid
environment (such as outdoor).
2.5 Most of the power supply cabinet is heat sink. During installation, please enlarge the contact area
between the cabinet and the shelf so as to maximize heat dissipation. This may prolong power supply
service life.
2.6 Check the contact between installed screw and power board parts, and measure the insulating resistance
of the cabinet, input and output in order to prevent electric shock.
2.7 Before turning on the power after installation, please check the connection of every wiring terminal
again. Make sure that input and output, AC and DC, single-phase and multi-phase, positive pole and
negative pole, voltage value and current value, etc. are correct. Reversal and misconnection are not
allowed.
2.8 Once a faulty occurs in a power supply, please contact our company. Tell us the fault to figure out the
reason. Our company will repair or replace the product based on the actual situation.
2.9 Frequent turning on and off a power supply will shorten its service life.

2.11 Do not open the cabinet or decompose the product. That is, do not break the power supply seal;
otherwise, electric shock or product damage may occur. These operations may also lead to difficulties in
analyzing and judging fault reasons, and cause losses of both parties.

1) The switch power supply made by our company must not be used on terminals that do not
obtain our approval or match our products.
2) It is normal that the switch power supply cabinet may heat during usage.
4. Installation and Usage of Switch Power Supply
Cautions!
Before installation, switch power supply must be powered off. After installation the power
supply can be powered on.
4.1 Connection of Switch Power Supply (See Figures 1a and 1b)

4.4 Correct Usage of the Switch Power Supply
Step 1 Please confirm the following items before powering on:
(1) Switch power supply must be connected according to our company’s requirements;
(2) Parameters for the operating environment is within the parameter range of our company;
(3) Terminal devices to be connected are approved by our company;
(4) Voltage to be applied to switch power supply is within the range allowed by our company;
(5) The operating environment is normal.
(6) Ensure hands dry when plugging in or out the power line.
Step 2 Plug a battery socket into a power socket after confirmation. If the indicator becomes on in 3
seconds after the switch power supply is connected, the switch power supply starts operation.
4.5 Maintenance and Repair
Regular check should be performed upon the product. The suggested check period is 6 months.
This check work must be done by an appliance specialist or specially trained personnel.
Check all parts regularly:
zWhether there are cracks or fracture signs on the cabinet.
zWhether there are clamped or damaged signs of the connecting wire.
zWhether the connector and screw loose.

Cautions!
All damaged devices must be replaced by the manufacturer or specially trained personnel, in
order to eliminate hidden danger.
In order to ensure safety of Kaidi products,
zDo not open the product by yourself. The switch power supply should be opened only by
the manufacturer or specially trained personnel.
zThe switch power supply applies only to dry rooms.
zDo not place flammable and explosive matters, etc. around the switch power supply.
Pay attention to your own safety!
For emergency, power supply can be plugged out immediately. In this case, make sure that
the power supply plug can be rapidly plugged out from the socket at any time.
4.6 Disassembly
Parts such as power supply mainframe, power wire, and terminal connecting wire must not be disassembled
destructively.
5. Nameplate and Label (Example)
Every switch power supply has a recognition nameplate to display mode, code and technical parameters
(see the following example)

6. Troubleshooting
Methods listed in the following table shall help you check and eliminate common faults. If the fault you
encounter is not listed here, please contact your supplier. All faults or disoperation should be investigated
and rectified only by the manufacturer or specially trained personnel.

The indicator of switch power
supply does not respond when the
power is on.
zCheck the connecting wire and make sure that the wire is
connected correctly;
zContact your supplier or dealer;
Switch power supply in operating
state suddenly stops operating.
zCheck the connecting wire and make sure that the wire is
connected normally;
zContact your supplier or dealer;
Switch power supply is in high
temperature.
zCabinet temperature at 75℃or below is normal;
zIf cabinet temperature is over 75℃, contact your supplier or
dealer;
The indicator of switch power
supply flashes when power is on.
zCheck the connecting wire and make sure that the wire is
connected normally;
zCheck the terminal device and make sure that the device
runs normally;
zContact your supplier or dealer;
7. Cleaning
Plug out the power supply before cleaning.
Clean dusts on the surfaces of all parts with humid rag, and prevent water drops from flowing into
inside of the parts.
During cleaning, make sure that the connecting wire and the plug are connected normally.

Cautions!
Do not clean with benzene, alcohol or similar solvents.
Prohibit watering or high pressure washing the device, or splashing liquids onto the parts;
otherwise, the switch power supply may be damaged.
8. Waste Disposal
zSwitch power supply, consisting of electronic component, conduction wire, and metal, plastic,
etc., should be disposed according to the relevant environment laws of different countries.
zSwitch power supply cannot be disposed as regular household waste.
