• P ace the sma (11) or the arge fi ter (12) correct y in the fi ter
ho der.
• According to the required number of cups, fi the sma or arge
fi ter with 1 or 2 measures of specia espresso coffee powder using
the measuring spoon (13).
• Then press the coffee with the tamper (13).
• Insert the fi ter ho der (3) in the support of the fi ter ho der (14).
Therefore, p ace the hand e (6) of the fi ter ho der to the eft and
check that the fi ter ocking ever (15) is as far as possib e from the
fi ter by pu ing it to you. Insert the fi ter ho der in its support and
turn it firm y to the right unti it b ocks. The fi ter ho der shou d be as
far to the right of the c osing zone as possib e and at east in the
midd e of the app iance. This wi avoid that the fi ter ho der
comes out of its housing as the pressure rises when the coffee is
f owing. If the fi ter ho der does not fit in the c osing zone and at
east in the midd e of the app iance, do not operate your
app iance, remove the fi ter ho der and position it again as
described here above.
• P ace one or two cup(s) on the grid of the drip tray (4) and under
the dripping ho es of the fi ter ho der.
• Check that the function se ector (9) is in off position and p ace
the ON/OFF switch (5) in ON position. The red power ight (2) of
the switch wi i uminate and indicate that the app iance is
switched on.
• Wait unti the b ue ready ight (8) ights up. When it comes on, turn
the function se ector (9) to . The pump wi start functioning
and a few seconds ater the coffee wi start coming out through
the openings of the fi ter ho der. At the beginning you can hear
that the pump makes more noise than when the water starts
f owing. This is abso ute y norma .
• When the cup(s) is (are) fi ed, turn the function se ector (9) back
to “0" and the water wi stop f owing.
• To prepare other espressos, empty the used coffee of the fi ter.
Therefore you have to remove the fi ter ho der by turning it to the
eft. CAU ION: Be careful when you remove the filter holder
because the metal parts may still be hot. Never remove the filter
holder when the function selector is not in “0” position. Put the
fi ter ocking ever (15) against the edge of the fi ter in order to
b ock it and beat the fi ter ho der above the bin. Rinse the
