2. Product Description
With the speaker accessory 'K&F Mounting Bracket PASSIO' you can mount a PASSIO-
Lautsprecher easily, visually perfect and securely to almost any wall or ceiling.
With its compact and flexible design, you can adjust the speaker in any sensible direction.
2.1 Scope of Delivery
The following is included in delivery:
• 1 x K&F Mounting Bracket PASSIO with ball joint
• 1 x M10 bolt - 25-8.8
• 1 x M10 flat washer
• 1 x neoprene washer
• User's Manual (1x)
3. Safety Instructions
3.1 Mounting the Speakers / Wall and Ceiling Installation
Warning
Suspended loads are safety related.
The speakers may only be mounted by qualified event technicians or personnel which are
instructed by them, adequately. This also applies for wall and ceiling fixations.
The technicians responsible for assembling the speakers on site are responsible for the safe
setup and use of the speakers and guarantee the safe use of the mounting elements.
Never use signal cables or power cords for suspending, aligning or securing the systems.
Before carrying through ceiling and wall installations, it is essential to consider the load
capacity, the stability and type of the construction of walls, ceilings and panelling. If there is
wall panelling, for example, it is then necessary to examine the solidity of the wall and use
the appropriate wall plugs.
Note that the suspension points on the hall ceiling (i.e. shackles, suspension points, or chain
points) must comply with the accident prevention regulation BGV C1 (Event and Production
Sites for Stage Presentations) or comparable applicable national standards, and the total load
must be approved by an authorised expert.
Make sure to comply with the stipulated tightening torques.
If not otherwise stated in this manual, only original KLING & FREITAG parts may be used for
mounting the speakers. The use of other parts – in particular parts by other manufacturers –
is not permitted in this case.
Ensure that all installation connections comply with the applicable safety guidelines and that
the size and strength are sufficient.
Ensure that all connections are secured against coming loose and that only authorized,
statically tested and correctly sized supports, mounting equipment, wire ropes and chains are
used.
As a basic principle, you must visually inspect all safety-relevant components of the speaker
and the accessory before every use. If there are signs of wear, cracks, or deformation, then
you must replace the parts immediately. The visual inspection also includes checking the
screwed connections on supporting elements.
The information described here does not relieve the user of the duty to follow the given
safety requirements and legal regulations.

3.2 Intended Use
Warning
The speaker accessory 'K&F Mounting Bracket PASSIO' is solely for professional use and may
only be used with the PASSIO-Lautsprecher in the manner described here.
The speaker accessory may not be used to lift and secure persons or objects other than the
abovementioned PASSIO-Lautsprecher.
The speaker accessory is protected from temporary weather conditions. For long-term use,
however, it is designed to be used indoors only.
3.3 Admissible load capacity
Warning
The speaker accessory 'K&F Mounting Bracket PASSIO' may only be loaded with one speaker
model PASSIO with a maximum weight of 6 kg (BGV C1).
We recommend securing every mounted speaker with a safety wire.
Please contact Kling & Freitag if you lose one ore more parts of the mounting system. The
use of parts by other manufacturers is not permitted and Kling & Freitag will not guarantee
for the safety of the system in this case.

4. Installation and Usage Instructions
4.1 Overview of Components

4.2 Mounting
Caution
Using wrong accessories for the wall or ceiling can result in the loudspeaker falling down.
PASSIO-Lautsprecher
Check the stability of the wall or ceiling before mounting the loudspeaker to it. Make sure to
use only sufficiently suited mounting material like wall anchors and matching screws. PASSIO-
Lautsprecher
Only the included M10 bolts may be used for mounting the speakers.
The Mounting Bracket can be rotated and locked on the PASSIO-Lautsprecher in steps of 90°.
The possible adjustment angle between the PASSIO and the wall depends on the mounting
position. PASSIO-LautsprecherFind the right position of the Mounting Bracket on the speaker
depending on the desired alignment of the speaker.

Before permanently fixing the device, check if it has the optimal position.
1. Place the speaker on a stable support.
2. Check the position in which the Mounting Bracket is best suitable for the later alignment
of the PASSIO-Lautsprecher.
3. Mount the Mounting Bracket (POS.1) with four appropriate screws and wall anchors to
the wall.
4. Put the bolt (POS.2) through the washer (POS.3) and then through the mounting plate of
the Mounting Bracket.

Warning
It is mandatory that you insert the Neoprenscheibe as described. Without the
Neoprenscheibe you will not be able to fasten the PASSIO-Lautsprecher sufficiently.
Furthermore, a missing Neoprenscheibe can lead to damages on the enclosure. This
affects the security of the mounted speaker.
Place the Neoprenscheibe (POS.4) over the bolt, mount the speaker to it and tighten the
M10 bolt.
6. We recommend that you always secure the speaker with a secondary safety device
against falling down (safety rope).
7. Adjust the speaker and lock it in place on the Mounting Bracket using the two set screws
(3mm hexagon socket) (POS.5).
8. Check if the PASSIO-Lautsprecher is mounted securly to the wall or the ceiling.

5. Transport and Storage
The speaker accessory 'K&F Mounting Bracket PASSIO' is protected against short term
moisture. The accessories has to be stored, transported and used in a dry enviroment. This
speaker accessory is not designed for long-term use in a corrosive environment.
Make sure that the system is adequately ventilated during longer storage periods so that
possible residual moisture can escape from the equipment.
6. Maintenance and Care
Warning
The accessory can exhibit signs of wear over the years, i.e. from mechanical strain, corrosion,
or improper handling. If speakers are to be flown, this always means there is a high safety

As a basic principle, you must visually inspect the accessory every time you suspend it and
take it down. For fixed installations, you must inspect the speaker for signs of wear at regular
intervals.
During these inspections, you must especially look out for deformations, cracks, dents,
damage to threads, and corrosion. Mounting devices such as shackles, chains and wire ropes
also have to be checked for signs of wear or deformation carefully.
If as a result of these checks any uncertainty should arise with regard to safety or if specific
faults are found, the accessory may no longer be used and you must send in the product to
KLING & FREITAG GmbH for inspection and repairs, if necessary. If defects are ascertained,
then you must send in the product to KLING & FREITAG GmbH for inspection and repairs, if
necessary.
The inspection requirements vary depending on application and country of use. Observe the
requirements that are relevant for you. If in doubt, contact local authorities.
In many countries, regular inspection of mounting components and accessories is required.
In most cases (e.g. german BGV C1), an additional annual inspection is required that must be
done by a technical expert. Additionally, a detailed inspection carried through by a legally
certified or official authority is required every four years.
In this context, it is very important to keep an inspection log book. In this inspection log
book, the data for every used accessory is entered at the periodic inspections, making the
data available at all times for possible inspections. This book should document maintenance
measures and inspection intervals and contain parts lists.
