The KANE78 is a personal CO alarm, once activated the unit will operate for up to 2 years
in normal operation

If CO levels in a room or space exceed 20ppm it is strongly recommended that any

Bump Test
Users of portable gas detectors are recommended to conduct a “bump” check before
relying on the unit to verify an atmosphere is free from hazard
A “bump” test is a means of verifying that a detector is working within acceptable limits
bybrieyexposingtoaknowngasmixtureformulatedtochangetheoutputofallthe
sensorspresent.(Thisisdierentfromacalibrationwheretheinstrumentisalsoexposed
toaknowngasmixturebutisallowedtosettletoasteadygure&thereadingadjusted
to the stated gas concentration of the test gas)
General Maintenance
Keep your KANE78 dry, if it gets wet wipe dry immediately as liquids can degrade
electronic circuits
Whenever practical, keep the KANE78 away from dust & dirt
Although your KANE78 is built to withstand daily use, it can be damaged by impacts
Use reasonable caution when using & storing the KANE78
Cleaning
Periodically clean your KANE78 using a dry lint free cloth
