The thermostat’s display has fo r distinct fields. These fields are the Men field, the Item field, the N mber field and the Stat s

the desired settings.

Congrat lations on the installation of yo r kanmor Control Systems programmable thermostat. This
thermostat has been designed with state of the art technology and packaged in a compact and attrac-
tive enclos re. The large display and easy to se b ttons make this thermostat extremely ser friendly.
This kanmor Control Systems programmable thermostat is designed to increase the comfort level of
yo r home as well as to increase the energy efficiency of yo r heating system. At the same time these
thermostats have been designed to be simple to se.

VIEWING THE CURRENT TEMPERATURE(S)
The View men allows yo to view the c rrent temperat re(s) being sensed by the thermostat and its a xiliary sensor(s). To
view the vario s temperat res, begin by selecting the View men sing the Menu b tton. Next se the Item b tton to view the
available temperat res.
Room: This is the c rrent air temperat re of the room that is being controlled. At
least one air sensor m st be active for this temperat re to be displayed.
Outdoor: This is the c rrent o tdoor air temperat re. This item is only available if the
a xiliary sensor has been set to sense the o tdoor air temperat re.
Slab: This is the c rrent slab temperat re. This item is only available if at least
one of the a xiliary sensors has been set to sense the slab temperat re.
Remote: This is the c rrent temperat re at the remote sensor. This item is only avail-
able if the a xiliary sensor has been set to sense a remote temperat re.
DEFAULT DISPLAY
The defa lt display for the thermostat can be either the time fo nd in the Time men
or any item in the View men . To select the default display, use the following
procedure.
Step One: Use the Menu b tton to select either the Time or the View men .
Step Two: Use the Item b tton to select the desired item.
SETTING THE TEMPERATURE(S)
A separate heating temperat re can be set for each event of the sched le. If a slab sensor is connected to the control, a sepa-
rate minim m slab temperat re can be set for each event of the sched le. If the thermostat is sed for cooling, a separate
cooling temperat re can be set for each event of the sched le. Use the following procedure to set each temperature.
Step One: Press and release the Menu b tton ntil the Adj st Men is reached.
Step Two: Press and release the Item b tton ntil the desired temperat re is
displayed.
Step Three: Use the or b tton to set the desired temperat re. Record this
temperat re in the sched le table fo nd on page 4.
Repeat steps two and three for each additional temperature.
SETTING THE TIME
Step One: Press and release the Menu b tton ntil the Time Men is reached.
Step Two: Press the
Item b tton. While the min tes are flashing, se the or
b tton to set the proper min tes.
Step Three: Press and release the Item b tton. While the ho rs are flashing, se
the or b tton to set the proper ho r.
Step Four: Press and release the Item b tton. While the day is flashing, se the
or b tton to set the proper day.
SETTING THE SCHEDULES
A sched le allows the thermostat to a tomatically change between several preset temperat res based on the time of day. The
sched le divides the day into either two or fo r events. For each event, a different temperat re can be set. This allows the room
and / or floor to be warm d ring the day and cooling d ring the evening and night. To set the time of day at which each event
is to begin, use the following procedure.
Step One: Press and release the Menu b tton ntil the Sched le (SCHD) Men is
displayed.
Step Two: Press and release the Item b tton. Use the or b tton to select
the desired sched le Mode. None = one temperat re per day. 2 = two
temperat res per day. 4 = fo r temperat res per day.
Step Three: Press and release the Item b tton. Use the or b tton to select
the sched le Cycle, either 7 day or 24 ho r.
Step Four: Press and release the Item b tton. Use the or b tton to set the
event’s beginning time. If the event does not have a time, select the “- - :
- -” time. This time is fo nd between 11:50PM and 12:00AM. Record the
event time in the sched le table fo nd on page 4 for f t re reference.
Repeat step four until all events have been programmed.

OVERRIDING THE SCHEDULES
Temporary Override
Note A temporary override lasts for three ho rs and does not permanently change the existing sched le.
Step One: Press and release the Menu b tton ntil the View Men is displayed.
Step Two:
Press and release the
Item
b tton ntil the Room temperat re is displayed.
Step Three: P r e s s t h e b tton to increase the temperat re to the desired setting
or the b tton to decrease the temperat re to the desired setting.
A three-hour temporary override is now in effect.
Temporary Override for the 512e in the Heat / Cool mode
Note A temporary override lasts for three ho rs and does not permanently change the existing sched le.
Step One: Press and release the Menu b tton ntil the View Men is displayed.
Step Two: Press and release the Item b tton ntil the Room temperat re is displayed.
Step Three:
Press and release either the or b tton once.
Step Four: Use the Item b tton to select between the Heating temperat re and the Cooling temperat re.
Step Fi e: Press the b tton to increase the temperat re to the desired setting or the b tton to decrease the
temperat re to the desired setting.
A three-hour temporary override is now in effect.
Canceling a Temporary Override
To cancel a temporary override, press the Menu b tton once or twice if back light is not lit.
Permanent Override
Note A permanent override stays in effect ntil a new override is selected. A permanent override does not change the existing
sched le.
Step One:
Press and release the

Step Two: Use the or b tton to select the desired permanent override.
Canceling a Permanent Override
To cancel a permanent override, use the following procedure.
Step One:

b tton ntil the Sched le (SCHD) is displayed.
Step Two: Use the or b tton to select the None setting.
Away Override
An Away override is a q ick override that does not change yo r existing sched le. This is to be sed d ring long periods of absence.
When the Away override is selected, the heating temperat re is set to 62°F (16.5°C) and the cooling temperat re is set to 82°F
(28.0°C) (Type 512e in Heat / Cool mode only). If a slab sensor is being sed with the thermostat, the minim m slab temperat re is
also ignored. This operation contin es as long as the Away override is selected. To select the Away override, use the following
procedure.
Step One: Press and release the Menu b tton ntil the Sched le (SCHD) Men is displayed.
Step Two: Use the or b tton to select the Away override.
Canceling the Away Override
To cancel the Away override, use the following procedure.
Step One: Press and release the Men b tton ntil the Sched le (SCHD) Men is displayed.
Step Two: Use the or b tton to select the None setting.
DISPLAY LIGHTING
The display of the thermostat has a back light setting. The back lighting can be t rned off, t rned on or set to operate temporar-
ily for 60 seconds after any b tton is pressed. To set the operation of the back lighting of the display, use the following
procedure.
Step One: Press and release the Menu b tton ntil the Adj st Men is reached.
Step Two: Press and release the Item b tton ntil the word LITE is displayed.
Step Three: Use the or b tton to select the desired back light operation.
Note If the back light setting is temporary, the first press of a b tton t rns on the back light.
UNITS OF DISPLAY
To select between Fahrenheit and Celsius, use the following procedure.
Step One: Press and release the Menu b tton ntil the Adj st Men is reached.
Step Two: Press and release the Item b tton ntil the c rrent temperat re nit
begins to flash.
Step Three: Use the or b tton to select between Fahrenheit and Celsi s.

SETTING THE MODE OF OPERATION
Depending on the type of the thermostat that has been installed and its set p, there are several modes of operation that
are available.
Off: In the off mode, the thermostat does not operate the heating or the cooling for the room.
Heat: In the heat mode, the thermostat operates to maintain the room at the req ired heating
temperat re. If yo are sing the type 512e for heating and cooling, this mode ens res
that the cooling does not t rn on even if the room req ires cooling.
Cool: This mode is only available in the type 512e that is set p for heating and cooling. In
the cool mode, the thermostat operates to maintain the room at the req ired cooling
temperat re and ens res that the heating does not t rn on.
Auto: This mode is only available in the type 512e that has been set p for heating and cooling. This mode allows the
thermostat to a tomatically switch between heating and cooling the room as the air temperat re req ires. If a slab
sensor is installed, the floor maintains the minim m slab temperat re even d ring cooling.
