Before You Begin
• Observe all local plumbing and building codes.
• Carefully inspect the new toilet for damage.
• If the existing toilets does not have a supply shut-o valve below the tank,
install one before installing the new toilet.
• Ensure that the inlet and new drain has the correct roughing-in dimension.
• Fixture dimensions are nominal and conform to tolerances established by
Standards TIS 794.
CAUTION: Risk of hazardous gases. If the new toilet is not installed
immediately, temporarily place a rag in the closet ange.
CAUTION: Risk of personal injury or product damage.
Handle with care. Vitreous china can break or chip if the bolts and nuts
are overtightened, or if the product is handled carelessly.
CAUTION: Turn on the water and allow water to ow through the
supply pipe to ush the system of any debris before connecting ll valve


 



2 Mark the tank mounting holes on the wall. Drill the holes, and insert the anchors.

Insert the outlet pipe into
the tank and tighten the nut.
Insert outlet pipe to the bowl. Carefully position
until trapway insert into the waste pipe. Draw
outline of bowl and carefully remove
the bowl from the position.
Install the tank on the wall with bolt kit.Verify
the tank is level.
Slide the nut over the top of
inlet pipe and insert gaskets
to the pipe.

Install the bowl. Verify the bowl is level.

Care and Cleaning
Kohler Co. shall not be responsible or liable for any tank ing damage caused
by the use of cleaners containing chlorine (calcium hypochlorite).
For best results, keep the following in mind when caring for your product:
• Use a mild detergent such as liquid dishwashing soap and warm water for
cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners that may scratch or dull the surface.
• Carefully read the cleaner product label to ensure the cleaner is safe for use
on the material.
• Always test your cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area before applying
to the entire surface.
• Do not allow cleaners to sit or soak on the surface.
• Wipe surfaces clean and rinse completely with water immediately after
cleaner application. Rinse and dry any overspray that lands on nearby surfaces.
• Use a soft, dampened sponge or cloth. Never use an abrasive material such
as a brush or scouring pad to clean surfaces.
WARNING: Risk of property or product damage. Do not use in-tank
cleaners in your toilet. Products containing chlorine (calcium hypochlorite)
can seriously damage ings in the tank. This damage can cause leakage
and property damage.

Symptoms Recommended Action
1. Poor ush. A. Adjust the tank water level to match the waterline.
B. Fully open the water supply shut-o valve.
C. Clear obstructions from the trapway, jet, or bowl rim
holes.
D. Clear obstructions from the waste line.
2. No ush. A. Reconnect the apper chain to the trip lever or ush
valve.
B. Adjust the apper chain assembly to remove
excessive slack.
3. The ll valve
turns on/o by
itself without
the toilet being
ushed, or it
runs, allowing
water to enter
the tank.
A. Adjust the apper chain for proper slack so the
apper closes.
B. Clean or replace the apper if it is worn, dirty, or
misaligned with the opening.
C. Clean the area around the opening to allow the
apper to seal.
D. Adjust the tank water level if it is too high.
E. Replace the ll valve if the valve oat sinks.
4. Tank takes
excessive time
to ll.
A. Fully open the water supply shut-o valve.
B. Check the exible supply line (if applicable) for
a kink. Remove the kink.
C. Clean the valve inlet, valve head, or supply line.
Flush the lines.
5.
There is excessive
noise when the
tank is lling.
A. Partially close the water supply shut-o valve if the
water pressure to the toilet is too high. Check the
toilet performance following any such adjustment.
B. Remove dirt or obstructions from the valve head.
Flush the lines.
6. Trip arm strikes
tank lid underside.
A. Adjust ush ball chain assembly to remove excessive
slack.
B. Adjust trip arm bracket and ange so they are parallel
with tank top.
