have placed in us by purchasing the travel bed.
With the decision to use a travel bed from KayserBeen GmbH & Co. KG, you will re-
ceive a care product with high functionality at the highest safety level.
The travel bed was assembled and conscientiously checked by our employees before
delivery and le our premises in perfect condition.
When you receive the travel bed, the responsibility for its proper and intended use
also passes to you.
These instructions for use inform you about the daily handling, the mode of operation
and the safe handling.
We are convinced that our product will make a positive contribution to your therapy
and care.

Warranty
KayserBeen GmbH & Co. KG grants a guarantee on new devices purchased in the
European Union and their components which show a defect due to manufacturing
and/or material faults within 24 months of purchase.
This warranty does not apply if the defect of the device is due to improper handling
and/or disregard of the intended use and the rules of conduct described in these
instructions for use. Failure to observe the instructions for use, improperly performed
maintenance work as well as technical modications and additions (aachments)
without the consent of KayserBeen GmbH & Co. KG will invalidate the warranty and
product liability in general.

Travel beds made by KayserBeen GmbH & Co. KG bear the CE mark and are ma-
nufactured in accordance with the technical documentation and meet the require-
ments of the Medical Device Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR).
Applied conformity assessment procedure (EU) 2017/745: Annex II, Annex III, Annex IV,
Annex V.
You can obtain the current declaration of conformity directly from us or at
www.kayserbeen.de as a download.
The safety requirements can only be fullled if the operator/user/professional per-
sonnel satisfy themselves of the proper condition of the travel bed and accessories
before using them.

Denitions of terms
Operator
The operator of a medical device is any natural or legal person who is responsible for
the operation of the health care facility in which the medical device is operated or
used by its employees.
An operator is also a person who keeps medical devices available for use outside of
health care facilities in his or her business or institution or in the public domain.
The obligations of an operator must also be fullled by anyone who provides patients
with medical devices for use by themselves or by third parties in the home environ-
ment or in other private surroundings on the basis of a legal or contractual obligation.
User
The user is any person who is authorised to operate the travel bed or to perform work
on it on the basis of his or her training, experience or instruction. The user has been
instructed in the handling of the travel bed. The user can recognise and avoid possib-
le dangers and assess the patient‘s condition.
Patient
Person in need of care (for example, disabled or inrm person) who is dependent on
need-based positioning in a travel bed.
Qualied personnel
Qualied personnel are employees of the manufacturer or the specialist dealer who,
due to their training, experience and instruction, have the necessary expertise to
deliver, assemble, dismantle and transport the travel bed and to be able to carry out
maintenance and servicing work properly.

aHAZARD!
FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE WARNINGS AND ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
NEVER USE PLASTIC SHIPPING BAGS OR OTHER PLASTIC FILM AS MATTRESS
COVER BACAUSE THEY CAN CAUSE SUFFOCATION.
INFANTS CAN SUFFOCATE IN THE GAPS BETWEEN TRAVEL BED SIDES AND A
MATTRESS THAT IS SMALL.
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF SIDS, PEDIATRICIANS RECOMMEND HEALTHY IN-
FANTS TO BE PLACED ON THEIR BACKS TO SLEEP, UNLESS OTHERWISE ADVI-
SED BY YOUR PHYSICIAN.
STRINGS CAN CAUSE STRANGULATION. DO NOT PLACE ITEMS WITH A
STRING AROUND A CHILD’s NECK SUCH AS HOOD STRINGS OR PACIFIER
CORDS. DO NOT SUSPEND STRINGS OVER A CRIB OR ATTACH STRINGS TO
TOYS.
TO HELP PREVENT STRANGULATION TIGHTEN ALL FASTENERS. A CHILD CAN
TRAP PARTS OF THE BODY OR CLOTHING ON LOOSE FASTENERS.
DO NOT PLACE THE TRAVEL BED NEAR WINDOWS WHERE CORDS FROM
BLINDS OR DRAPES MAY STRANGLE A CHILD.
DO NOT LEAVE THE CHILD WITH DOORS OPEN. BE SURE ALL DOORS ARE
CLOSED AND LOCKED WHEN CHILD IS IN THE TRAVEL BED.
REMOVE CHILD’s HAND / FINGERS FROM THE ZIPPER BEFORE CLOSING THE
DOORS.
CHECK THIS PRODUCT FOR DAMAGED HARDWARE, LOOSE BOLTS OR OTHER
FASTENERS, MISSING PARTS, OR SHARP EDGES BEFORE AND AFTER ASSEMBLY
AND FREQUENTLY DURING USE.
SECURELY TIGHTEN LOOSE BOLTS AND OTHER FASTENERS.
DO NOT USE TRAVEL BED IF ANY PARTS ARE MISSING, DAMAGED OR BROKEN.

Personnel qualications
According to the German Medical Devices Operator Ordinance (MPBetreibV, §4) the
travel bed may only be assembled, operated, maintained and repaired by persons
who have completed required training or have the necessary knowledge and expe-
rience.
Intended use
The NILS travel cot is for children with disabilities who cannot use a bed or standard
travel cot. It enables the disabled child to participate in holidays with the family and
oers restless and active children peace and protection in unfamiliar surroundings.
The NILS travel cot is a safe place to sleep at night and suitable as a place to play
and retreat during the day.

Only use the travel bed indoors for home care, in hospitals or in care homes
(application environment no. 3, 4, 5 according to MDR (EU) 2017/745 ) in a dry
and dust-free environment.
Use the travel bed to relieve or compensate the patient‘s impairments or di-
sabilities and to facilitate the working conditions of care sta in care homes,
hospitals and domestic care.
aWARNING!
The suitability of the travel cot must be determined on a case-by-case basis
according to the patient‘s clinical picture and physical and mental condition
and must be assessed by qualied care personnel or the aending physician
or therapist. In particular, the patient‘s motor behavior must be taken into ac-
count.
aWARNING!
When using the travel cot, the anthropometric data and the individual needs
of the patient must be taken into account.
Use the travel cot only on a horizontal surface.
Location of the travel bed
aDANGER!
Fire hazard!
The travel cot must not be placed in the vicinity of open res (e.g. replace).
aCAUTION!
Only use maresses with dimensions suitable for the care bed (see chapter „Techni-
cal data“).
Improper use
Do not use the travel cot for any purpose other than its intended use.
Labels on the care bed
Never remove or alter labels on the travel cot without the manufacturer‘s per-
mission.
Replace damaged or lost labels immediately to match the original.

Transporting and storing the travel bed
aCAUTION!
Heavy objects. Risk of injury.
Always transport the care bed with two persons.
Please note
The service life of travel beds for domestic use is approx. ve (5) years. Frequent
transporting, assembling/disassembling and moving reduces the service life of the
care bed.
Transport, (dis)assemble and move the care bed only if necessary.
Note
Store and move the unassembled care bed as follows:
- in the original packaging
- protected from impact
- secure against falling
- in a dry, clean area.

5. Assembly
Specic safety instructions
aCAUTION!
Parts laying around can create tripping hazards. Risk of injury.
Ensure that parts are not laying around.
Reckless use of necessary tools such as cuer knifes, screw drivers, cordless
drills etc. can cause cuts and hand injuries.
Unpacking travel bed
1. Unpack the parts.
2. Always ensure that all parts are put down carefully and turned the right way.
3. Check the delivery for completeness (see chapter “Scope of delivery”). In case
any parts are missing immediately contact the manufacturer (see chapter
“Manufacturer”).
Assembling Travel bed
To assemble the travel bed you will need a clear area of at least 2m x 3m.
Screw lower, shorter horizontal bars ... ... to vertical bars by using screws
M8 x 65.

6. Cleaning
Cleaning of the net
Dust deposits
be sure to clean dry
Use a brush, a hand brush or a very so brush to carefully remove dust from
the net.
Non-dust deposits - stains
Please note
We recommend that you rst try cleaning with clean water before using other
suggested cleaning liquids.
Always dampen a so cloth rst before using it to remove stains.
In the case of stains on the mesh, use either water, methylated spirits or etha-
nol, as appropriate.
Following the cleaning process, moisture marks may appear, depending on the
type and size of the dirt traces or stains to be removed.
Never wet the net completely.
Please note
Material damage! Never use the following
cleaning methods:
- Abrasive cleaning agents of any kind: scouring powders, pastes, liquids, spon-
ges, etc....
- Steam pressure cleaners,
- water generators under high pressure.
organic chemicals:
Acetone, gasoline, benzene, fuel oil, kerosene, perchloroethylene, turpentine,
toluene, trichloroethylene, petroleum, THF, ethyl acetate, hydrogen peroxide,
etc....
inorganic chemicals:
Ammonia, nitric acid, sulfuric acid, acetic acid, hydrochloric acid, sodium car-
bonate, sodium hydroxide solution, sodium hypochlorite solution, etc....

10. Maintenance
In Germany, according to MPBetreibV §7 (maintenance), operators of medical devices
are obliged to ensure the safe condition of the medical device throughout its entire
service life.The inspection according to DIN EN 62353 includes the following minimum
requirement:
- Visual inspection
- Insulation resistance measurement*
- Leakage current measurement*
- Functional test
- Overall assessment
To ensure safe operation, a visual and functional inspection with electrical testing
must be carried out at least once a year*.
Test the care bed once a year according to DIN EN 62353 (see protocol for tes-
ting in chapter „Appendix“).
Copy the protocol (see protocol for testing in chapter „Appendix“) and docu-
ment the test in the copy.
Have the care bed serviced by qualied personnel only. Contact the manufac-
turer (see chapter „Manufacturer“).
During maintenance and repair work on the care bed or parts of the care bed,
no persons may be in the care bed.

12. Repair
Have the care bed repaired by qualied personnel only. Contact the manufac-
turer (see chapter „Manufacturer“).
Aention
Only original parts and components approved by the manufacturer may be
used.
Electrical components may only be repaired or replaced by authorised spe-
cialist personnel. Contact the manufacturer (see chapter „Manufacturer“).
