INTRODUCTION
The KELDAN RC1 remote control is based on ultrasonic technology. It has two brightness
channels. Each channel can address an innite number of lights simultaneously. A light can be
paired with any of the two channels with a pairing mode.
The range under water is about 50 meters. The RC1 remote control can also operate in air,
but the range will be limited to about 1-2 meters.

1. MOUNTING OPTIONS
The ball adapter of the RC1 remote control can
be attached on the top or bottom side.
By using a triple clamp, it can be easily attached
on the top or on the side of your camera housing.
2. BATTERY CHANGE
The RC1 remote control operates on a 9V block battery.
• We suggest using lithium or alkaline type cells.
• Due to their poor performance, we do not
recommend zinc carbon cells.
When opening the lid, it is important to ensure
that no water gets into the housing. The RC1
remote control should be dry and free of
waterdrops before opening.
Take care that the transducer cable is not squeezed when closing the lid.
IMPORTANT: RECALIBRATING THE KNOBS AFTER BATTERY CHANGE
If the RC battery has been changed, the knobs must be re-calibrated.
1. Calibrate all knobs by turning them twice all the way from limit to limit.
2. When done, you are ready to use the RC1 remote control again. A new pairing is not necessary.
3. PAIRING
A pairing is needed to pair a light with the RC1 remote control.
Each controller has a unique identier which is sent along with each command. This allows to use
multiple remote controllers at the same location without interference.
The pairing procedure can be executed in air or in water. (Note that the range in air is limited to about
1-2 meters.)

Pairing procedure :
1. Switch the RC1 remote control to PAIR mode.
2. Switch your light to remote mode, now pairing is possible during the next 10 seconds.
3. Turn the brightness knob of whichever channel you want the light to be paired to.
4. The light conrms a successful pairing with short ashes.
The light permanently remembers the pairing information. Only a new pairing overwrites the stored
pairing information.
4. MAIN FUNCTIONS
Range:
The RC1 remote control has eight RANGE steps, ascending from
left to right. With the RANGE knob, the transmit power of the
RC1 remote control can be controlled. The shortest range setting
is working well for a distance of a few meters. With the highest
range a distance of 50m or more is possible.
Brightness:
1. Set the XR compact light to remote mode.
2. Move the brightness knob on the RC1 remote control to the
desired level.
3. The 9 brightness levels on the RC1 remote control
correspond to the nine levels which can be set manually on
the light.
4. The green LED on the remote conrms sending of the
command.
If the light does not respond:
• Increase the RANGE step.
• Check if the light is paired with the selected channel.
Global ON/OFF:
1. When the RANGE knob is turned to OFF, all lights which are
paired with the RC1 remote control will be turned o󰀨.
2. When the RANGE knob is turned from OFF to any RANGE
level, all lights which are paired with the RC1 remote control
will return to the previous brightness level.

6. MAINTENANCE
• Rinse with fresh water after each use.
• Do not use sharp tools to remove O-Ring.
• Grease O-ring frequently with silicone grease.
• Remove the 9V battery if the device is not used for several month.
7. WARRANTY
RC1 remote control carries a two-year warranty after purchase (proof of purchase date required). The
warranty is limited to material defects which occur when correctly handling the product. The warranty
does not cover the battery.
KELDAN® warranty coverage is void for defects as a result of improper use.
8. LIABILITY
KELDAN® declines all responsibility for damages arising from any improper use of the RC1 remote
control or as incurred by a third person.
