FALL OR STRANGULATION HAZARD
• Avoid serious injury from falling or sliding out. Always use child retention system.
• DO NOT use carrier with a child weighing less than 16 lb.
* Total load limit including the child AND cargo for the TC 2.0 & 3.0 is 40 lb.
• DO NOT use carrier if child cannot sit upright unassisted.
• DO NOT place carrier on countertops, tables, or other elevated surfaces.
PROTECT YOUR CHILD
• DO fasten child’s harness when in use.
• DO monitor child while in carrier. Periodically check the child’s position.
• DO assure your child is dressed properly for the weather. Periodically check the
child’s comfort.
• DO protect your child from the harmful effects of the sun.
• DO NOT leave child unattended in the carrier.
• DO NOT place more than one child in the carrier.
• DO NOT use the carrier as a car seat, child seat, or high chair.
• DO NOT allow your child to stand on the carrier seat.
• DO NOT use carrier if your child will not ride calmly in carrier.
• DO NOT place carrier near a campfire, cook stove, or open flame.
• DO NOT allow child to eat food while riding in carrier. Keep small objects away
from child in carrier.
• DO NOT place the carrier on soft, uneven, or elevated surfaces.
• DO NOT let go of carrier. Carrier is not designed to stand, unsupported, on its own.
• When attaching items to carrier, assure they will not swing and hit child.
• If your child has special needs, consult with a physician before using Kelty carriers.
This carrier may not be appropriate for special needs children.

• DO check to assure all buckles snaps, straps, and adjustments are secure before
each use.
• DO check the condition of carrier before each use.
• DO NOT use the carrier if the fabric, padding, straps, or buckles are damaged.

COORDINATION AND BALANCE
• DO NOT use the carrier while skating, biking, skiing, or engaging in any activity
that will affect your balance.
• DO NOT bend at the waist when using the carrier. Bend at the knees to avoid
pitching the child forward.
• DO NOT use carrier on icy or wet surfaces or on rough or uneven terrain.
WHEN PUTTING CARRIER ON
OR TAKING CARRIER OFF
• DO lift and lower carrier and child gently.
• DO NOT shake or jar the child unnecessarily.

• DO consult with a physician before using Kelty carriers (or partaking in any
physical activity).
• DO NOT use carrier if you feel faint, dizzy, nauseated, or experience muscle pain.
• DO NOT use carrier at night, in the dark, or in low light conditions.
• DO NOT attach carrier to bicycles, automobiles, snowmobiles, or other machines.
• DO NOT use carrier on busy streets or in heavy traffic.
• DO NOT use carrier on public transportation.
• DO be aware of the conditions around you.

CARRIER FEATURES
-BEFORE YOU START-
CARE AND CLEANING
• Clean with mild detergent and a damp cloth.
• Allow carrier to air dry.
• Do not use bleach or liquid detergent.
• Store carrier indoors, in dry location, out of direct sunlight.

2. Loosen the shoulder straps and waistbelt, and
unbuckle the sternum strap.
3. Put the carrier on by slipping arms through shoulder
straps. Buckle waistbelt and adjust it up or down so
center of buckle lies over navel. Tighten waistbelt by
pulling forward on the webbing.
NOTE: It is recommended to wear the belt on the hip
bones, just under the rib cage, so that the belt is
roughly in line with your belly button, Fig. 2A & 2B .

A. Place the carrier on the floor or firm, level ground.
B. Make sure the side-release buckles attached to the silver webbing on the
child’s shoulder harness are unbuckled (Fig. 4A).
C. Adjust the cockpit seat height by attaching the two snap-hooks to the
desired steel rings at the front of cockpit (Fig. 4B). There are three
sets of steel rings for seat-height adjustment. To raise the seat height,
attach to higher seat rings. To lower, attach to lower rings.

Before starting, make sure the cockpit has
been opened (Fig. 5A), the child’s shoulder
harness is unbuckled (Fig. 5B), and the
yellow leg straps located inside the cockpit
are unbuckled (Fig. 5C).

5. Adjust the leg straps so they fit comfortably over the child’s legs by tightening
or loosening the yellow leg strap webbing inside the cockpit (Fig. 9).
Make sure the leg straps are not binding or pinching the child’s legs.
2. Place child’s shoulder harness over child’s shoulders.
3. Attach the side-release buckles, sewn to the child’s shoulder harness (Fig. 5B)
to the mating buckles on the silver webbing sewn to the child’s chest pad.
4. The child’s shoulder harness can be adjusted up or down by loosening the
hook and loop material and then sliding the harness on the webbing at the
back of the child’s seat (Fig. 8). Adjust the harness so the padded section lies
smoothly over the child’s shoulders.

BEFORE PUTTING THE CARRIER ON
1. Make sure the cockpit has been adjusted correctly and that both
buckles on the child’s shoulder harness are properly fastened.
2. Make sure the adult backpack shoulder straps are loose and the
waistbelt and sternum strap are unbuckled.
3. Look around you to be sure there is no obstacle nearby that the child
could strike or the carrier could catch on.
PUTTING THE CARRIER ON
1. With feet approximately shoulder-width apart and knees bent, grasp
both handles (located at the front and rear of the cockpit) firmly and lift
the carrier to your knee, resting the front of the carrier on your thigh.
2. While still grasping the front handle with one hand, slip your other arm
under and through the shoulder strap. Lift the carrier off your knee and
onto your shoulder.
3. Carefully release the front handle and slip carrier onto the other
shoulder.
4. Buckle waistbelt and tighten.
5. Tighten shoulder straps and buckle sternum strap.
TAKING THE CARRIER OFF
1. Loosen shoulder straps.
2. Unbuckle waistbelt and sternum strap.
3. With feet approximately shoulder-width apart and knees bent, remove
one arm from shoulder strap and grasp front handle (behind head).
4. While still grasping front handle, rotate your body toward the carrier,
allowing the front of the carrier to rest on your thigh.
5. Remove other arm from shoulder strap and grasp rear handle.
6. Carefully lower carrier to the floor or firm, level ground.

possible products. Kelty products are covered under warranty, to the original owner, for
the lifetime of the product, against defects in materials or workmanship.
Since no Kelty product is indestructible, Kelty’s warranty does not cover defects attributa-
ble to or resulting from normal wear and tear (ie: exhausted zippers), natural hazard dam-
age (ie: weather, animals, ultraviolet [UV] damage on tents), abuse or alteration.
All products being returned require a Return Authorization number.Service
under our warranty is available to the original purchaser by returning the product to any
authorized Kelty dealer or by contacting our customer service department at 1-866-349-
7225 (1-866-FIX-PACK) for a Return Authorization number.
If, after inspection, we determine that the product is defective, we will repair or replace it
at our discretion, free of charge. If your Kelty product needs service or repair that is not
covered under warranty, we will provide the necessary service at a reasonable charge.
This warranty gives you, the original purchaser, specific legal rights. You may also have
other rights, which vary from state to state
