INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
FOR CONVERSION FROM
NATURAL GAS TO LP/PROPANE GAS
(This manual is to be used with convertible gas appliances only.)
THIS APPLIANCE CAN BE USED WITH NATURAL GAS AND PROPANE GAS. IT IS SHIPPED
FROM THE FACTORY FOR USE WITH NATURAL GAS.
- FOR CONVERSION FROM NATURAL GAS TO PROPANE GAS, PLEASE FOLLOW
INSTRUCTIONS FROM PAGE 1 TO PAGE 3 OF THIS MANUAL.
- FOR CONVERSION FROM PROPANE GAS TO NATURAL GAS, FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS
ON PAGE 4 TO 6 OF THIS MANUAL.

This conversion must be performed by a qualified service technician in accordance
with the manufacturer's instructions and all codes and requirements of the authority
having jurisdiction. Failure to follow instructions could result in serous injury or
property damage. The qualified agency performing this work assumes responsibility
for the conversion.
DISCONNECT OR TURN OFF ALL ELECTRICAL POWER AND GAS SUPPLY BEFORE
INSTALLING THE CONVERSION KIT.
Unlike the standard countertop cooking unit, THE
COOKTOP CANNOT BE LIFTED OR REMOVED. Do
not attempt to remove the cooktop.

HOW TO CONVERT THE
COOKING UNIT FOR USE
WITH LP/PROPANE GAS

CONVERT THE PRESSURE REGULATOR
Remove the cap from the pressure regulator.
Remove the plunger from the cap.
Turn the plunger with the enlarged end down
for LP/Propane gas use (See Figure 1).
Replace the plunger inside the cap.
Replace the cap. Make sure the gasket is in
position under cap.

,CONVERT SURFACE BURNERS FOR
USE WITH LP/PROPANE GAS.
A. Remove the following items (see Figure 2):
1. Remove top grate, burner cap and burner
base.
2. Remove natural gas orifice using a 7 mm
nutdriver.
3. Smaller burner (5K) require to remove the
burner pan for the orifice change.
B, Install the following items (see Figure 2):
1. Replace with supplied burner orifice (see
page 1 for burner orifice identification num-
ber). Tighten orifice until snug. Use caution
not to overtighten.
2. Replace burner pan (smaller burner), burner
base, burner cap and top grate. Repeat for
each burner.

ADJUST THE "LOW" SETFING FOR
SURFACE BURNER VALVES (LINEAR
FLOW AND THREE POSITION VALVES)

Adjust "LO" setting as follows:
a. Let appliance cool down to room tempera-
ture.
b. Light up all burners by turning each control
knob to LITE until all burners ignite and set
them at HI.
c. Quickly turn down the burner involved from
HI to LOWEST SETTING.
d. If burner goes out, readjust valve as follows:
Remove the burner control knob, insert a
thin-blade screwdriver into the hollow valve
stem and engage the slotted screw inside.
Flame size can be increased or decreased with
the turn of the screw. Adjust flame until you
can quickly turn knob from HI to LOWEST
POSITION without extinguishing the flame.
Flame should be as small as possible and
stable without going out.
e. Repeat the steps from a. to d. until all the
burners operate properly.
4. CHECKING MANIFOLD PRESSURE
If it should be necessary to check the manifold
gas pressure, remove the burner cap and choke;
connect a manometer (water gauge) or other
pressure device to the top right rear burner
orifice. Use a rubber hose with inside diameter of
approximately 1/4", hold tubing down tight over
orifice. Turn burner valve on. For an accurate
pressure check have at least two (2) other top
burners burning. Be sure the gas supply (inlet)
pressure is at least one (1") inch above the
specified range manifold pressure. The gas supply
pressured should never exceed 14 inches W.C.
When properly adjusted for Propane gas the W.C.
pressure is 10"
DO NOT USE A FLAME TO CHECK FOR
GAS LEAKS.

Disconnect this appliance and its individual
shut-off valve from the gas supply piping
system during any pressure testing of that
system at test pressures greater than 14" of
water column (W.C.) pressure (approximately
1/2" psig).
The appliance must be isolated from the gas
supply piping system by closing its individual
manual shut-off valve during any pressure
testing of the gas supply piping system at test
pressures equal to or less than 14" of water
column pressure (approximately 1/2" psig).
Save the natural gas orifices and chokes that
were removed from the appliance for future
use.
For conversion from propane gas to natural
gas follow instructions on page 4 to 6 of this
manual.

A. Remove the following items (see Figure 2):

2. Remove LP/PROPANE gas orifice using a 7

B, Install the following items (see Figure 2):
1. Insert the natural gas orifice. Tighten orifice
until snug. Use caution not to overtighten.
2. Replace burner pan (smaller burner), burner
base, burner cap and top grate. Repeat for
each burner.

Vuelva a poner el pist6n dentro de la tapa.
Vuelva a poner la tapa. Aseg0rese que la junta
quede puesta debajo de la tapa.

CONVERSION DE LAS HORNILLAS
DE SUPERFICIE PARA SU USO CON
GAS PL/PROPANO,
A. Quite las siguientes piezas (vea la figura 2):
1. Quite la rejilla de arriba y la tapa de la hornilla
2. Quite la pieza con orificio para gas natural, usando
una Ilave para tuercas de 7 mm.
3. Para el m_ispequeho quemador (5K) es necesario
retirar el colector de aceite para realizar el cambio
del orificio.
B. Instale las siguientes piezas (vea lafigura 2):
1. Sustituya con la pieza con orificio de la hornilla
suministra (mire en la pagina 1 para el num_ro de
identificaci6n del orificio de hornilla).
2. Vuelva a poner el colector de aceite (m_ispequeho
quemador), la basa de quemador, la tapa de
quemador y la rejilla superior. Vuelva a comenzar
para cada quemador.

Ajuste la posici6n BAJO("LO")
de la siguiente forma:
a. Deje enfriar la cocina a la temperatura ambiente.
b. Encienda todas las hornillas poniendo cada control
en ENCENDER("LITE") hasta que las hornillas se
enciendan y despu_s p6ngalas en ALTO ("HI").
c. Inmediatamente cambie la hornilla en la que est,1
trabajando de la posici6n ALTO ("HI") a la posici6n
MAS BAJO.
d. Si la hornilla seapaga, ajuste la wilvula como sigue:
Quite el bot6n de control de la hornilla, inserte un
destornillador con punta fina en el hueco del v- de
la wilvula y ajuste el tornillo con ranura que est,1
dentro. Eltamaho de la llama puede aumentarse o
disminuirse con una rotaci6n del tornillo. Ajuste la
llama, hasta que pueda mover el control
r_ipidamente de ALTO ("HI") a la posici6n M_,S
BAJO,sin que se apague.
e. Repita los pasos de "a." a "d." hasta que todas las
hornillas est_n operando correctamente.
4. COMO VERIFICAR LA PRESION
EN EL DISTRIBUIDOR
Si fuera necesario verificar la presi6n en el distribuidor
de gas, quite la tapa de la hornilla y el obturador.
Conecte un man6metro (de agua), u otro tipo de
instrumento para medir la presi6n, en la parte derecha
de la hornilla de atr_is. Utilice un manguera de goma
con un di_imetro interior de aproximadamente 1/4",
manteniendo el manguera bien ajustado sobre la pieza
con orificio. Abra la wilvula de la hornilla. Para una
medida de presi6n adecuada, tiene que tener al menos
otras dos (2) hornillas encendidas. Aseg0rese que la
presi6n de la entrada de gas es de por Io menos de una
(1") pulgada por encima de la gama de presiones
especificadas para el distribuidor. La presi6n del
suministro de gas no debe de exceder 14 pulgadas
seg0n la columna de agua; y cuando est,1ajustada de
forma apropiada para el gas propano, la presi6n seg0n
la columna de agua es de 10".
NO USE NINGON TIPO DE LLAMA PARA
VERIFICAR SI HAY FUGAS DE GAS.

Cuando este verificando el sistema bajo presiones
m_is altas que 14" seg0n la columna de agua
(aproximadamente 1/2" psig), desconecte esta
cocina y su wilvula individual de cierre, del sistema
de tuber[as de suministro de gas.
Durante cualquier tipo de verificaci6n bajo presi6n
del sistema de tuber[as de suministro de gas con
presi6n igual o menos de 14" seg0n la columna de
agua (aproximadamente 1/2" psig), la cocina tiene
que estar aislada del sistema de tuber[as del
suministro de gas, cerrando su wilvula manual de
cierre.
Guarde la pieza con orificios y losobturadores para
gas natural que se quitaron de este artefacto para
su uso en un futuro.
Para la conversi6n de gas propano a gas natural
siga las instrucciones de las p_iginas10 a 12 de este
manual.
