Kenwood Coffee Experience
Here at Kenwood we share your appreciation or co ee and that’s why we have
ensured that this ilter machine will enrich your experience or enjoying iltered
co ee. Un ortunately not all co ee machines are able to brew co ee the ways it’s
meant to be. In act it’s a ine art to deliver the per ect cup; a combination o using
the right ingredients and the right equipment.
Filter co ee is one o the many ways to enjoy co ee, below are some
recommendations to per ect the ultimate ilter co ee experience to serve you,
amily and riends.
The Water ~ Your co ee is around 98-99% water so it’s important to ensure you
use resh iltered water. We recommend using a water ilter as it will reduce
limescale and prolong the use o your co ee maker.
The Co ee ~ This machine will optimise the lavour o medium ground co ee, to
deliver ull body, aroma and taste. Be sure be ore you buy that the co ee is
suitable or a ilter machine. Or i you grind your own beans set the grinder to
medium coarseness. I the particles are too small, water will pass through the ilter
too slowly resulting in ‘over-extraction’; your co ee will taste bitter. I particles are
too large, water will pass through too quickly resulting in ‘under-extraction’; your
co ee will taste weak and watery.
The Measurements ~ To brew a per ectly balanced cup we recommend to use
7 grams or 1Tbsp o ground co ee per cup. Use the measuring spoon provided to
do this accurately. Co ee will taste better when resh so we recommend drinking
within 30 minutes o brewing, any longer and taste begins to deteriorate.
The Maintenance ~ Use paper ilters or a permanent ilter either type is suitable to
produce great co ee. We recommend that you rinse your permanent ilter with
water a ter every use as any residual detergent could taint your co ee. Dispose o
the used grounds immediately a ter use to prevent drip through o unwanted
lavours trapped in the used co ee grounds. Try to keep your co ee machine
clean, especially the shower head as this will help to prolong your machine and
maintain per ect brewing.

1 Lift the lid using the handle 햳at
the front of the coffee maker.
2 Fill the tank with the desired amount
of water. The water level must be
between the 2 and 6 cup marks.
Do not fill above the MAX level.
lUse cold water. We recommend
using filtered water as it reduces
limescale and prolongs the life of
your coffee maker. Never use warm
or fizzy water.
3 Ensure the filter holder is positioned
correctly.
4 Fit either the permanent filter
supplied or a paper filter into the
filter holder. Add the coffee using
the spoon supplied (approximately
1 level spoon (7g) per cup to taste).
5 Close the lid and put the carafe on
the hotplate. NOTE: The lid
must be fitted to the carafe
in order to operate the anti-
drip valve.
6 Plug in and switch on.
7Don’t remove the carafe until
brewing has finished. When the
carafe is empty, switch off and
unplug the appliance.
lYour coffee maker will keep the
coffee warm and then switch off
after approximately 40 minutes. The
indicator light will go out when the
keep warm stops. If you want to
continue keeping the coffee warm
then switch the coffee maker off for
approximately 2 seconds then
switch back on, the coffee will then
keep warm for another 40 minutes.
lThe hot plate will keep your coffee
hot, but the sooner you drink it, the
better it will taste.
lIf you have not used the appliance
for a while, run one full tank of
water (without coffee) through to
clean it out.
