Kenwood CM650 series User manual

to make coffee
1Pour water into the tank. The
water must be between the top
and bottom cup marks. Then close
the lid.
●Use cold water. We recommend
using filtered water from a
Kenwood Water Filter as it reduces
limescale. Never use warm or fizzy
water.
●If you use the jug to fill the tank,
look at the tank marks, not the jug
marks. They’re slightly different to
allow for the fact that some of the
water gets absorbed by the coffee.
2Open the filter door by pressing
the release button and insert the
filter holder.
3Add either a permanent filter or a
paper filter. Add the coffee
(approximately 1 rounded
dessertspoon/7g per cup). Then
close the filter door.
4Put the jug on the hotplate.
5Plug in and switch on.
●Model CM660 press the
auto/on/off button twice. The
light will come on.
6CM660: to produce stronger
coffee press the strength control
button.
●During operation the strength
control indicator light will glow for
approximately 10 minutes.
7Don’t remove the jug until brewing
has finished. The hotplate will keep
your coffee hot, but the sooner you
drink it, the better it will taste.
●Model CM660 After 2 hours,
power to the hotplate will cease
and the auto/on/off indicator light
will go out.
8When the jug’s empty, switch off
by pressing the on/off switch
(CM650) or the auto/on/off button
(CM660). Let the machine cool
down before cleaning.
●If you haven’t used the machine for
a while, run one lot of water
through it (without coffee) to clean
it out. Fill the tank to the top cup
mark when you do this.
●Never put the jug in the
microwave.
to use the automatic timer
(model CM660 only)
1Set the correct time.
2Press the automatic timer button
and at the same time adjust the
Hour and Minute buttons to
display the time you want the
coffee maker to come into
operation. Make sure that the
desired AM or PM is selected.
3Release the automatic timer
button.
4Press the auto/on/off button once.
The automatic timer light will glow.
●When the set brewing time is
reached the coffee maker will
operate, the automatic timer light
will go out and the auto/on/off light
will come on.

before cleaning.
