removal

—

Never

remove

the

enclosure.

the

internal

parts

are

touched

accidentally,

a

serious

Cleaning

use

volatile

solvents

alco-

hol,

paint

thinner,

gasoline,

or

benzine,

etc.

to

clean

the

cabinet.

a

clean

dry

cloth.

Abnormal

smell

—

detected,

turn

the

power

and

pull

out

the

cord.

Installation

The

Super

Woofer

is

a

virtually

omnidirectional

speaker,

so

it

can

be

installed

in

almost

any

location.

For

example,

the

Super

Woofer

can

be

installed

the

center

system

(consisting

of

an

amplifier,

tuner,

cassette

deck,

etc.),

or

in

a

corner

of

the

room,

under

a

desk,

etc.

The

Super

Woofer’s

ultra-

|

bass

reproduction

characteristics

are

richest

when

the

Super

Woofer

is

installed

in

a

corner

or

near

|

a

wall.

Since

the

ultra-bass

component

in

music

is

usually

monaural,

only

one

Super

Woofer

is

neces-

sary

to

obtain

a

sufficient

sound

field

effect

when

used

in

combination

with

a

stereo

music

system.

Also,

it

is

not

possible

to

connect

two

Super

Woofer

units.

Note

on

installation

The

Super

Woofer

should

be

installed

standing

alone

at

a

dis-

tance

of

more

than

10

centimeters

from

the

nearest

wall

so

that

its

duct

is

not

blocked

by

the

wall.

Also,

be

careful

not

to

place

anything

on

the

Super

Woofer

or

sit

on

it.

Howling

lf

the

Super

Woofer

is

installed

near

an

analog

record

turnta-

ble,

a

howling

sound

may

be

generated.

If

this

occurs,

place

the

Super

Woofer

farther

away

from

the

turntable

or

reduce

the

Super

Woofer

VOLUME

(by

rotating

the

volume

conirol

counterclockwise).

The

howling

phenomenon

may

also

occur

due

to

cross-interference

with

a

cassette

deck,

compact

disc

player,

or

Laserdisc

player,

although

this

is

very

rare.

If

sound

or

picture

seems

to

be

distorted

due

to

this

reason,

place

the

Super

Woofer

farther

away

from

other

components

or

reduce

its

volume.

Prevention

of

speaker

magnetism

and

opera-

tion

near

a

TV

.

The

Super

Woofer

is

usable

at

a

short

distance

from

your

TV

set,

but

color

irregularities

may

sometimes

occur

de-

pending

on

their

proximity.

If

such

irregularities

occur,

switch

the

power

of

the

TV

to

OFF

and

then

switch

it

ON

again

after

waiting

for

a

period

of

15

to

30

minutes.

The

influence

of

the

Super

Woofer

on

the

TV

picture

may

be

improved

by

self-demagnetization

of

the

TV

set.

If

the

color

irregularities

still

persist,

move

the

Super

Woofer

farther

away

from

the

TV.

.

If

another

source

of

magnetism

is

also

placed

near

the

TV,

color

irregularities

may

be

observed

on

the

TV

picture

due

to

the

interaction

between

the

source

of

magnetism

and

the

Super

Woofer.

Be

careful

to

install

the

Super

Woofer

in

con-

sideration

of

this

phenomenon.
