The Software is “commercial
computer software,” as defined by
Federal Acquisition Regulation
(“FAR”) 2.101. Pursuant to FAR
12.212 and 27.405-3 and

commercial computer software
under the same terms by which the
software is customarily provided to

M9384B into a standard Keysight rack.

In Figure 2, you can see the entire rack mount kit and how it looks when it is
fully assembled and attached to the M9384B VXG.
Tools Required
— Torx Drivers: T-10, T-20, T-25
— Phillips head screwdriver
— Flat head screwdriver
Preparation
Before starting the procedure, the instrument needs to be prepared for the rack
mount kit by removing the side trim strips and strap handles from the
instrument chassis. If necessary, the feet on the instrument can also be
removed.
To remove the strap handles from the chassis, a Torx-10 driver must be used to
loosen and remove the screws connecting the strap handles to the instrument.
Use a flat head screwdriver to loosen and remove the side strips.
To remove the feet, the gray rubber inserts must be removed from the feet,
then a Torx-20 driver must be used to loosen and remove the screws holding
them in place.

Width Considerations

With the side trim strips and strap handles removed, the instrument has a
width of 449.4mm. When the rack mount plates are installed, the width should
remain at 449.4mm. The standard instrument rack has an internal rail to rail
width of 450.8mm, which only leaves 1.4mm of space to fit the instrument.

Kit Installation and Instrument Mounting Procedure
1. Attach front handles to front mounting brackets using the Phillips-Recess
M5X0.8 8mm-LG screws (0515-5827).
2. Mount front handle/bracket assemblies to instrument, using 5
Phillips-Recess M4X0.7 10mm-LG screws (0515-5828) on each side.

3. Mount rear brackets to unit, using 3 Phillips-Recess M4X0.7 10mm-LG
screws (0515-5828) on each side. Do not install L brackets at this time.

4. Mount instrument to rack and secure front bracket assemblies to rack
rails. Take care to avoid damage to the instrument. (See “Width
Considerations” on page 7)

5. Install L-bracket to rear mounting bracket using 2 Crest-Cup Pan-HD
TCRX-T25 M5X0.8 10mm-LG screws (0515-0386) on each side.

6. Secure rear bracket assemblies to rack rails.
