This booklet describes the ideal conditions to which a site should be prepared prior
to the installation of the Lifestyle bath.
The bath is intended to be used for assisted or independent bathing and should
only be installed by competent individuals. The bath may incorporate lifting
mechanisms, pumps and other electrical items and will normally have thermostatic
mixer valves. These will require careful setting and subsequent maintenance.
At any stage, ingkraft can provide telephone advice and a full commissioning
service following installation by others. *please note charges apply. ingkraft also
offer maintenance service. Please call the company for details. If requested
ingkraft will also undertake a pre-delivery site survey and offer advice.
Throughout this pre-installation guide a ‘left handed
bath’ is shown. If a right handed bath is specified, mirror
the enclosed images.

General information
The Lifestyle bath features either a powered raise/lower function. It has one side
which opens and slides down fully to allow the bath to be easily accessed.
With the door in the fully down position it can be used as a changing table, or
allows different methods of transfer into and out of the bath.
The bath is supplied as standard with a digital TMV3 mixer tap for bath fill or
bath/shower fill.
The bath is supplied with twin waste system as standard for quicker drainage.
The bath can be provided with PVC waterproof cushions to cover the base, side or
other parts if required. Removable supports can be supplied to suit the needs of
the individual bather.

PISR – Lifestyle - Issue 4 – 01.17
Delivery and room preparation
•The room must be easily accessible for the manoeuvring of the very large
bath unit
•Walls finished – painted/tiled
•Floor finished and level
The Lifestyle bath is typically delivered in an assembled state. The Lifestyle bath
can be disassembled into separate components to allow entry areas to where
access is difficult / limited. *if King raft are not aware of access at quoting /
ordering stage, please inform us prior to delivery/install. If this is required, it
should only be done by a King raft engineer.
Please note this is a large and heavy product and will require careful consideration
on how the bath mouldings are moved into the designated room in the building. If
the bathroom is not particularly large, it is recommended to leave other fittings not
in place. E.g. basins, W.C’s until after installing the bath.
If there is any uncertainty over the floor strength where the bath will be situated this
should also be addressed before delivery.
Careful handling of the Lifestyle bath must be undertaken at all times due the
possibility of compromising component durability. The bath should not be lifted /
manoeuvred by the external panels. All handling must be carried out by using the
metal framework of the main bath moulding itself. Panels should be fitted only
once the bath is in the required position.

PISR – Lifestyle - Issue 4 – 01.17
Positioning
The bath must be away from any objects / fittings to allow free movement up and
down.
We would recommend that the bath is screwed down to the floor.

Pipewor
Hot and cold water supplies:
•1 x 150mm high copper pipe stub for hot water
•1 x 150mm high copper pipe stub for cold water
If the water system supplying the bath is gravity fed the pipes should be in 22mm. If
it is a pressurised system 15mm pipes will be sufficient.
The temperature of the hot supply should be a constant minimum of 55 degrees
Celsius at full flow. This is crucial for the temperatures on the bath TMVs to be set
up correctly and the safety shut offs to work.
Also ensure there are no other thermostatic valves on the hot supply leading up to
the bath.
Drainage / waste pipes:
The Lifestyle is supplied with a twin waste as standard to be able to drain the water
away as quick as possible. The drains pass through on-board bottle traps
connected to 40mm flexible drain hoses.
. Two separate rigid 40mm solvent pipe connections should be provided or one
50mm solvent pipe connection to tee into. Connecting both drain flexibles onto
one 40mm pipe connection will not speed up the drainage on the bath.
They must be no more than 6” / 150mm high.

PISR – Lifestyle - Issue 4 – 01.17
Panels
Please note the bottom skirting and rear side top panels may have to be cut to
allow clearance for pipework to enter under the bath if the hot and cold supply and
waste pipes are not located under the bath.
Water supply regulations
Depending on the nature of the establishment where the bath is to be used, U
regulations stipulate certain conditions of supply. It is understood that the bath
might be classed by the water authorities as either a Category 3 fluid container
(typically used in domestic dwelling) or a Category 5 fluid container if used in multi
– user environment (e.g. Care Home/Hospital) The categorisation is important.
If the bath is to be categorised as Cat 5 the shower will be fitted with a crook and
short shower hose to prevent back siphoning down the shower hose.
A standard Lifestyle bath has a volume of no more than 230 litres. Your local water
authority should be able to advise you on the likely categorisation of the bath in
your particular establishment.

PISR – Lifestyle - Issue 4 – 01.17
Water supply requirements
The bath may be used if required as an easy access bath. The bather enters
through the open bath side and the bath is subsequently filled after the door has
been closed. In order that the bather does not become cold, the bath is designed
to permit high flow rates (although they may work with low flow rates, when the fill
time will be longer) Depending on how the bath is to be used, it is therefore
important to establish there is sufficient flow available.
Typical high flow rates are 20 litres per minute, low rates are approx. 5 litres per
minute.
The mixer valves provided are together with the necessary non-return valves
cause restrictions that reduce flow rate still further. If high flow rates are available
then it is preferable to pipe supplies in 22mm. (combi-boilers require 15mm
pipework and will generally fill quite slow)
Consideration may need to be given to providing a pumped supply to the bath if
flow rates are likely to be an issue. A minimum head of water of 4 metres is
preferable to potentially avoid the need for a pump. (Combi-boilers or mains
supplies can not be pumped) A competent plumber should be able to advise the
best option.
If the bath is being used in continuous cycles, adequate hot water storage must be
available. A standard bath is 230 litres in volume. Please check if you are in doubt.

PISR – Lifestyle - Issue 4 – 01.17
Mixer Valves
The bath is supplied with a digital mixer unit. (RADA Sense)
Digital Mixer Valves (RADA Sense)
The mixing valve unit is mounted underneath the bath unit and the control panel is
either mounted remotely from bath, for example on an adjacent wall or on a
bracket attached to the bath. *Note, we advise if fitting to the wall fit conduit set into
the wall for the RADA activation panel wire prior to any tiling etc.)
The mixer valves are set to maximum and minimum temperatures and the user
can vary between these using the infra-red sensing control unit. Please discuss
with ingkraft if mounting on the wall next to the bath, it must not interfere with the
bath moving side when raising / lowering.
Nothing should be wall mounted above the bath that causes a risk of trapping as
the bath traversers upwards.

PISR – Lifestyle - Issue 4 – 01.17
Electrical requirements
The room into which the baths will be installed must comply with the latest
electrical zoning regulations. These stipulate the minimum distance from the bath
to electrical equipment in the room. In addition, adequate ventilation must be
provided. A qualified electrical engineer should advise.
ingkraft will not be able to complete installation / commissioning of a bath unless
an Electrical Installation Certificate (including test details covering the room in
which the bath is to be installed) is issued to the ingkraft engineer prior to the
work commencing. This certificate is normally held by the householder/property
owner.
Part P of the Building Electrical Safety Regulations applies to domestic dwellings
where persons reside or share a common supply of electricity with a business
premise. These regulations are effective from 1
st
January 2005. At the very least,
residential type properties require confirmation in writing that the installation
complies with the requirements of BS7671.
The electrical low voltage installation for the bath facility shall confirm the following
specification. A competent electrician must carry this work out.
1. The supply shall be 240V, 50Hz, single phase and neutral on a fused spur.
2. The supply shall be protected by a suitably rated RCD with a 30mA trip and
shall be of a dedicated type. I.e. supplying the bath installation only. (not
supplied with bath) A suitable isolation switch (not supplied) must be
included in a suitable location within site of the bath. (5 Amp fuse)
3. The supply shall terminate at an agreed position nominally 200mm above
floor level,
4. The supply shall terminate in an enclosure of IP5/6 rating; the enclosure
shall have facility for ‘glanding off’ using waterproof compressions glands to
preserve the IPx5/6 rating of installation. (not supplied with bath)
5. The enclosure shall be 100mm x 100mm x 50mm in dimension.

PISR – Lifestyle - Issue 4 – 01.17
Please ensure only competent individuals undertake the above work and
remember at all times to consult ingkraft if there is any doubt. ingkraft engineers
are able to carry out pre-installation site surveys depending on locations.
We can carry out visits on work done following installation of the bath and provide
a full commissioning service and certificate, please note charges apply.
This is the recommended course of action.

IMPORTANT SAFET INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: Any person who is incapable of fully helping themselves must
NEVER be left alone in the bath even for a short period.
These instructions contain information for all standard versions of the ifestyle bath.
Special design baths manufactured by Kingkraft may differ to those described
herein. Please make sure you read all sections of the user manual before use of the
bath.
If you have any doubt as to the operation of the bath, please consult Kingkraft as
soon as possible for advice.
•Do not stand in the bath at any time
•Kingkraft products are intended for domestic and commercial use only
•Kingkraft baths are intended only for bathing people and adjusting the
height for carers requirements
•Do not exceed the maximum load marked in the unit (133kg, 21
st
) which is
also displayed on the bath
•Do not put excessive load on the moving side when it is at its lowest point,
when it is moving or when it is at the top –this could damage the mechanism
•Only one person should be in the unit at any one time
•The handset should not be submerged in the water, if it should drop in the
water, dry it immediately and do not leave it under the water
•If whirlpool fitted, under no circumstances should bubble bath be used as
this will froth excessively
•Check the ifestyle frequently or damage, especially any cables / wires and
the rubber door seal. If you find signs of damage, do not use the bath and
contact Kingkraft to arrange a service and/or repair.
Your bath should only be used if any powered equipment on it (e.g whirlpool raise
/ lower system etc.) is connected to a suitable power supply protected by an earth
leakage circuit breaker. Ensure this is tested on a regular basis and if you are any in
doubt contact a competent electrician. The bath is made from GRP material and
the cushions are made from PVC with filler foam, No naked flames are to be in the
vicinity of the bath.

LBUI – Issue 4 - 17
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The ifestyle bath is designed primarily as an assisted bathing bath incorporating a
unique opening side for easy access and variable height to help carers.
The opening side also allows the ifestyle bath to be used as a general purpose
changing platform.
The base of the bath is set at wheelchair height when the bath is at its lowest level
to allow easy transfer from a wheelchair.
Cushioning and positioning sets can be purchased from Kingkraft
The maximum bath and shower temperatures are pre-set and regulated by
thermostatic mixer valves, incorporating over temperature shut down protection.
As standard a RADA Sense Digital mixer tap is supplied. This can be mounted on
the wall or on the bath.
We recommend applying instructions on the wall (Kingkraft can supply laminated
versions) so that the instructions are visible for all users and carers.

LBUI – Issue 4 - 17
CLEANING
Certain bath additives may damage the bath, if the contain bleach or other
corrosives due to the product the bath is made from. Use only water, normal soaps
and approved cleaning agents. Under no circumstances should bleach be used.
We recommend Chemgene which can be purchased from Kingkraft. Regular
cleaning routines should be followed.
•Do not use pressurised jets
•Do not steam clean
•If a whirlpool is fitted, we recommend Bronte 6 month whirlpool cleaner
which can be purchased through Kingkraft
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Cleaning and care of the door seal
The Lifestyle door must be cleaned regularly to ensure it
seals properly e erytime the bath is used. This can be done
by opening the door when it is at the top, before it starts to
lower, creating a small gap which should be enough to rung
a cloth between the seal and the door.
Alternati ely you can lower the door to its lowest position
and then reach up to the flat side of the door with a cloth
from underneath and carefully run it o er the seal.
Door storage position when not in use
The door must be kept in OPEN position when not in use.
This means the door seal should not be kept pressed up
against the bath tub whilst not in use, especially for long
periods of time. This could lead to permanent deformation /
flattening of the rubber seal, causing the bath to not seal
properly.
