extend the ife that the UC192 D2D converter has to offer.

designing with great care to provide protection from transportation re ated damage.
These materia s are inva uab e if you ever have to return the UC192 for service.
Damage sustained during transit is not covered under the warranty.

The fo owing precaution shou d be observed when working on the power supp y
unit:
-Remove watches, rings or other meta objects.

-Do not p ace the power cord near a heating device. Otherwise, the cord sheath may
me t, resu ting in fire or e ectrica shock.
-Obstruct the necessary a - around venti ation: especia y DO NOT p ace the set
c ose to curtains or on soft furnishing such as carpets. Overheating can cause
unnecessary damage and shorten the ifespan of the equipment.
-No user serviceab e parts inside. Refer servicing to qua ified technician. Never
remove the cover un ess qua ified to do so. This unit contains dangerous vo tage.
-When you remove the power p ug, be sure to ho d the p ug. Never pu on the cord.
Otherwise, the power cord may become damaged, resu ting in fire or e ectrica
shock.
-Do not attempt to modify this equipment. Otherwise, fire or e ectrica shock may

resu t. Warranty is void on modified devices.
-Do not damage, process, bend, twist, stretch or heat the power cab e. If the cord is
damaged, fire or e ectrica shock may resu t.
-When you are connecting other audio devices to the UC192 D2D converter make
sure that you first turn off the power to a devices to be connected. Refer to the
user’s guide for each device and use the specific cab e for the connection.
-If you p an not to use the UC192 D2D converter for a ong period of time (such as
when you are on vacation), remove the power p ug from the AC out et. Otherwise,
a fire cou d possib y resu t.
-If any abnorma ity occurs whi e suing the UC192 D2D converter, remove the p ug
from the AC out et. In this case first shut off the power amp ifier or turn down the
vo ume contro s and so on to avoid possib y damaging transients.
- If you notice any abnorma ity- such as smoke, sme , noise, etc. –remove the p ug
from the AC out et. Confirm that the abnorma ity is no onger present, then consu t
your dea er for repair. If you continue using the UC192 D2D converter under
abnorma condition, fire or e ectrica shock might resu t.
- If a foreign object or water enters inside the equipment, remove the p ug from the
AC out et and consu t your dea er for repair. If you continue using the UC192 D2D
converter under this condition, fire or e ectrica shock may resu t.
- If the power cord is damaged(for examp e if it is cut or if the core wire is exposed),
ask your dea er for a rep acement. If you continue suing the UC192 D2D converter
under this condition, fire or e ectrica shock might resu t.

C. Product feature:
KingRex UC192 USB to S/PDIF D2D Converter is a high-qua ity computer
transport interface for those wishing to stream high-reso ution p aybacks to an
existing DAC. The UC192 can transfer from PC or Mac at 16bit/44.1KHz to
32bit/192KHz through S/PDIF & IIS outputs. The UC192 runs isochronous with an
adaptive c ock generator to auto sync with the host. The master c ock generator is a
c assy 1ppm TXCO unit with proprietary ow-jitter drivers for Windows & Mac. Direct
Sound, ASIO4ALL, and WASAPI are a supported and run smooth y. The UC192 is
housed in an ova cross-section a uminum case with b ack hairbrush po ish. It
measures 88*82*24mm. “The UC192 ships with Windows & Mac drivers that need
to be insta ed on your computer. An externa 7.5V power supp y is provided.

E. Operation environment presentation

1. DC JAC : FOR 7.5V power input – App y a vo tage in DC7.5V. Tip is positive,
ring is negative. This input is protected against po arity inversion. 2.1mm tip jack
supp y connector.
2. Power instruction LED light - Power indicated LED. After connected power,
the power indicated LED ight wi be g ow. If the LED ight is dim, p ease
exchange your 7.5V switching power supp y or contact with your oca distributor
& dea er for after service.
3. USB port for PC signal input –Connect to host w/ a suitab e 2.0 USB cab e.
Fema e B USB connector.

4. AES/EBU: TINY XLR – Connect to DAC or receiver with a 110 Ohms ba anced
digita cab e terminated with XLR connectors. The output is ga vanica y iso ated
by a pu se transformer. XLR ma e connector.

5. S/PDIF : RCA – Connect to DAC or receiver with a coaxia digita cab e
terminated with RCA ma e p ugs. This output is ga vanica y iso ated by a pu se
transformer. Go d p ated RCA fema e connector.
6. IIS : RJ45 – Direct IIS output for connection to a board or DAC provided with IIS
input. This input is not ga vanica y decoup ed, so an externa so ution or a
ga vanica y iso ated input must be used if ga vanic iso ation is required.

Warning! This output can use by KingRex IIS cab e direct y connected to a
North Star Design DAC such as Mode 192 or Extremo!
CAUTION : AES/EBU & SPDIF CAN NOT BE USED AT THE SAME TIME. PLEASE
CONNECT ONLY AES/EBU OR SPDIF FOR STREAM OUT THE SIGNAL TO YOUR
DAC.

F. Connection to the host
Connect the USB-B p ug of a 2.0 USB A-B cab e to the USB connector (Figure 1, 3)
of UC192.
Connect the USB-A p ug of the cab e to a 2.0 USB port of your computer.
Connect a power supp y connector (7.5V switching adaptor) of UC192. The power
indicator wi it.
Some PC OS wi insta the Basic driver of UC192 automatica y.
NOTE: If you want to avoid the automatic driver insta ation, p ease connect to the
computer after manua y insta ing the driver.

UC192 USB TO S/PDIF & IIS D2D CONVERTER DIAGRAM
KingRex UC192 designed by isochronous. Inside the main chipset, it has buffer area
for temporary storage stream data which he ps to decrease the jitter and signa ose as
we . The adaptive c ock generator here is for synchronous mode of audio bit stream.
The c ock frequency wi be adjusted automatica y to be synchronized with host. The
adjustment wi be done in a manner that the c ock variation wi have minimum
impact to the audio performance. Master c ock generator is a c assy 1ppm TCXO w/
proprietary driver ower jitter.
Working environment suggestion:
OS:
Windows: XP, Vista & Win7
Mac : 10.4 10.5 & 10.6 (SOME OLD MAC COMPUTER 只有 USB1.0 界面,所以它只
能使用到 UC192 的44.1K IIS OUTPUT)
P.S. In most of condition, the Windows XP and Mac 10.3 wi sti workab e with KingRex
UC192. But in some setting, the computer wi has interna conf ict to be work with
UC192. Our suggestion wi be updated OS system at first! Most of prob em wi be
so ved after renew OS system to Window Win7 & Mac 10.6.

H. Instruction for how to operate the UC192
Driver insta ation
Obtaining the driver
The drivers for UC192 are avai ab e on the CD-Rom.
Insta ing the driver on a Windows-based PC
1. Automatic (guided) insta ation.
App y power to UC192 and connect it to the PC. Fo owing the negotiation process,open
the driver fo der se ect “SETUP(SETUP LUNCHER) the driver insta ation wizard is
automatica y proceed as in Figure 4.

2. C ick on the button to proceed. A window apprears as show in Figure 5:

3. C ick on the b ank space. Press “Next” for next step.

4. Choose “Continue Anyway”(as recommended) and proceed to next step.

from XP to Vista to Windsows 7.
Manua y uninsta ing the driver on a Windows-based PC
Connect UC192 to the PC.
Go to the contro pane and aunch the “System” uti ity, then se ect Hardware tab. Open
the periphera management window (see figure XX).
You wi find UC192 isted under Audio, Video, and Game contro ers.
Insta ing the driver on a Mac
As Mac OS wi automatic insta the driver ( No more extra driver to be needed)!

I. Configuring the computer to UC192
Configuring a PC with Windows XP
A PC with Windows XP can use UC192 in two different ways: Direct Sound (DS) and
ASIO4ALL.
Configuring a PC with Windows Vista or Win7
A PC with Windows Vista or Win7 can use UC192 in two different way: Direct Sound (DS),
ASIO4ALL, and WASAPI. DS is suitab e for p ayers which cannot operate WASAPI or for
Internet streaming. WASAPI(Windows Audio Standard API) is a standard interface for
audio p ayers which a ows to get the same performance of KS with app ication which
cannot operate in KS mode, at the cost of higher CPU oad.
Configuring a Mac audio output devices
Go to system preference and se ect sounds. The fo owing windows as shown, p ease
se ect UC192and ope the “AUDIO MIDI SETUP” for output samp ing rate/bits rate se ect
for output as indicated Figure 10

Open contro Pane and se ect Hardware and Sounds. Under Audio, c ick to open the
Manage Audio Devices window which wi show KingRex UC192.

As happens with ASIO4ALL, press the “configure” button setup the ASIO virtua
devices.
