1. IMPORTANT INFORMATION
This operating and safety manual contains important guidelines and
warnings. Read this manual carefully and follow all the guidelines contained
within.
This manual is intended for information purposes only and
should not be regarded as a source of law. Compliance with the
instructions does not provide exemption from the requirements
of local Health and Safety guidelines, as well as guidelines relating to fire
prevention and environmental protection. This tank is only for storing non-
potable water.
The manufacturer is not liable for any loss or damage caused by improper
use of the product and failure to comply with applicable regulations.

2. INTRODUCTION
This document constitutes the instructions for the use of a single-skinned
polyethylene rotationally moulded tank intended for the storage of non-
potable water.
Read the contents of this manual prior to first use. Also read the
contents of the other enclosed documents and follow the
guidelines contained in them. This will ensure correct use of the
tank and will ensure it is used safely. Moreover, these guidelines are part
of the warranty conditions. Failure to follow them may result in the loss
of warranty.

3. APPLICATION
The AquaBank ® is intended solely for the stationary storage of non-potable
water.
ATTENTION! Storage of other substances, specifically oils,
diesel fuel, gasoline, and aggressive chemicals, is prohibited
and may lead to explosion of, or damage to, the tank and its
equipment. Furthermore, the tank is not suitable for storing drinking
water.
The AquaBank® is a non-pressurized tank intended for use ONLY IN THE
CONDITIONS OF ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE. The tank must be properly
vented in order to prevent overpressure or underpressure during the filling
or emptying processes. If the tank is vented improperly or not vented at all,
it is at risk of being damaged.
The temperature of the stored water cannot exceed ambient
temperature. The tank may be filled with water with temperature up to
40°C as long as the water cools down to 23°C within 24 hours. Please
remember that water is subject to freezing in low temperatures and will
clog up the equipment, e.g. the valves (see chapter 6.4). When the water
returns to liquid state all devices should return to operating order.
The manufacturer is not responsible for damage and losses
caused by improper use of the tank or failure to obey the
regulations applicable to such products.
4. LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
Although the tank is intended solely for storing water, this does
not however mean that the user is exempt from compliance
with regulations relating to, for example, Health and Safety and
the site and use of the tanks.

5. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
The AquaBank® is a single skin vertical cylindrical tank. It is produced from
high-quality polyethylene using the rotational moulding process.
The tank is available in five capacity versions: 15, 20, 22, 26, and 28 m3, the
general dimensions1 and weights of which are presented in the table below.
The table below also includes a column specifying the minimum
lifting capacity required to unload and erect an empty tank.
Also listed is the weight of the full tank.
ATTENTION! Full or partially full tanks cannot be lifted or
transported.

The detailed technical specification for
the AquaBank® depends on what version
of the tank is ordered. One product
specification example is presented
below.
Single skin tank with bottom outlet:
1. polyethylene tank,
2. vents,
3. 8” inspection lid,
4. 22” inspection lid,
5. lifting and fixing points (4 points),
6. outlet fitted with 2” or 3” ball valve.
6. EQUIPMENT
The original manufacturer’s instructions covering the various
equipment items included with the product are included with
the tank documentation. Please read them carefully in order to
learn more about the equipment, because this document only provides
a review. Appearance of specific elements depends on the technical
specification of the tank and may differ from what is shown. The images of
accessories are for reference purposes only and may not reflect their actual
appearance.

6.1. Vents
There are vents regulating airflow in and out on
the top of the tank. The tank is intended for use
ONLY IN THE CONDITIONS OF ATMOSPHERIC
PRESSURE. The vents cannot be plugged or
removed, because this will lead to problems
when the tank is being filled or emptied.
6.2. Inspection lid
There is an inspection lid on the top of the tank
to allow for inspection of the tank’s interior.
During standard tank operation (filling /
emptying / storage), the lid should be closed.
ATTENTION! When the tank is
standing vertically, you can access the inspection lid with
assistance of appropriate equipment (which is not included
with the tank). Never stand or work on top of the tank. The carrying
capacity of the tank’s dome has not been established. The surface is
springy and slippery and may cause you to fall off. The user must obey
Health and Safety standards when working at heights.
ATTENTION! Do not go inside the tank as the inside
environment may be harmful. It is recommended to leave tank
maintenance and cleaning to authorized servicing partners.
6.3. Outlet
Certain tanks are equipped with a bottom outlet. The outlet can be used to
empty or fill the tank (see chapter 12). The standard version includes two
nuts and a yellow cap, which is screwed onto the bottom outlet.

Before first use of the tank, you must fit the
outlet with the 2” or 3” ball valve which is
supplied with the tank (see chapter 11.4). The
yellow cap is not watertight!
ATTENTION! Never tug, bend, or stress the outlet in any way.
If you are connecting piping to it, you should line them up to
the outlet and make sure that no tension appears. Otherwise,
you are risking damage. When in use, the AquaBank® tank may slightly
bulge. Due to the above, the connected pipes cannot be rigid. Only flexible
hoses are permitted.
6.4. Ball valve
The bottom outlets are equipped with ball
valves. These valves should always be closed
(even when the tank is empty) except for when
the tank is being filled or emptied. Always check
all connections for tightness before opening the
valves.
If the valve lever is hard to move, you must never try to force it
open. Apply a penetrating lubricant to the base of the lever and
– if possible – the ball of the valve handle. In wintertime, the
stored water may freeze and clog the valve. In this situation, pour hot water
on the valve in order to raise the temperature and dissolve the ice, which
will unclog the valve. Heating up the valve may soften the thread sealant.
Loose ball valves can be removed only from empty tanks to clean the
sealant and subsequently reinstalled according to the procedure discussed
in chapter 11.4.
Damaged ball valves must be promptly replaced with new ones.

ATTENTION! The bottom valve must be secured from being
accidentally opened or physically damaged, which may lead to
considerable leaks (see chapter 14).
If the tank is installed as a collection tank that is being filled from
the top, e.g. rainwater collection tank, you must ALWAYS ensure
that the bottom valve is closed, unless you are emptying the
tank.
6.5. Wind protection system
In accordance with EN 1991-1-4, empty or
partially filled tanks positioned vertically and
located in windy areas with basic wind velocity
exceeding 22 m/s may not be fully stable in the
wind (see chapter 11.3).
A security package is available as an extra
option in order to protect the tank from wind gusts. It includes steel lines
(guy lines), shackles, and turnbuckles (used to adjust line tension). More
information about guy line installation and maintenance is presented in
further down in this manual.
6.6. Liquid level measurement
The capacity of a single AquaBank® segment comes to approximately
2.8 m3.
Some specifications of the tank may include a level measurement device. If
such a device is installed the instructions will be included with the tank
documentation.
The relationship between the level of liquid inside the tank and its volume
are listed in the tables presented on the following pages.

7. ACCEPTANCE AND INSPECTION
When the AquaBank® tank is delivered to its destination, it is the
responsibility of the buyer and/or the buyer’s representative to inspect the
product for damage caused in transport. If any damage is identified or any
parts are missing, the buyer should make an appropriate note in the
shipping document and file a complaint to the carrier. The manufacturer
must also be notified of the above before the tank is used.
Please check if all items presented in the shipping document are delivered.
Certain parts may be delivered in separate packages.
Reports of damage caused in transport and missing parts, which
are not filed within three days of tank delivery, will not be
considered.
Please make sure that the tank code on the shipping document corresponds
to the code imprinted on the delivered product.
ATTENTION! Never drop the tank from the truck to the ground.
The detailed description of the proper unloading practices is
presented further down in this manual. If you fail to comply
with the relevant guidelines, you risk causing an accident and/or damage
to the tank.
8. ERECTING AND MOVING
ATTENTION! Make sure that all machinery used for erecting or
moving the tank is suitable for the dimensions and weight of
the tank (see table in chapter 5).
If possible, try to refrain from moving the tank in poor weather conditions
such as rain or poor light. Particularly moving the tank in strong winds is not
recommended.

The AquaBank® can only be moved when it is completely empty. Never roll
it or slide it on the ground.
The 15 m3 tank is shipped vertically without being on the pallet. The
minimum length of forks required for unloading the tank is 2.3 m.
The 20 m3 to 28 m3 tanks are shipped horizontally on a wooden pallet (see
below).

Unload the AquaBank® tank from the truck with a forklift, front loader,
telescopic lift truck, or crane and place it in the proximity of where the tank
will be located. Make sure that the forks or teeth of the lifting machinery
do not pierce the walls of the tank. The minimum length of forks required
for unloading the tank is 1.8 m. If you are unloading the tank with a crane
or telescopic lift truck, you must use at least two lifting slings: one holding
the top and the other holding the bottom of the tank. Never lift the tank by
the plastic straps securing it to the pallet. Furthermore, make sure that the
lifting slings do not snag any equipment or component elements, which may
lead to irreversible damage to the tank.
When the tank is unloaded, remove the straps securing it to the pallet and
perform all preliminary installation work, including bottom outlet
installation and inspection of connections for tightness.
The tank must be raised to a vertical position as shown in the figure below.
This must be performed slowly, carefully, and in a controlled manner.

The tank must be erected with a telescopic lift truck or other appropriate
machinery. The process must involve the lifting/fixing points moulded on
the top of the tank. You must always use the lifting/fixing points next to
each other (see figure above).
When erecting the tank, please observe the guidelines presented below:
 The operator of the lifting machinery must always obey appropriate
standards for lifting heavy loads and make sure to never lose control
of the raised tank when it starts tilting.
 The pivot point (see arrow in figure above) should be secured
appropriately with protective material.
 The tank’s bottom and the surface of the base on which it will be
erected should be clean and free from any foreign elements. If
required, they must be cleaned before the tank is positioned vertically.
 All four fastening points on the top of the tank can be used to erect it
(but only two of them are necessary). You can use a spreader bar, but
it is not required.
