INSTRUCTIONS FOR
TEEPEE ASSEMBLY
Congratulations on your purchase
of the KWS Teepee
** Please read instructions
first before you erect it **
First lay all parts out and take inventory.
There should be:
• 1 round mesh fl oor piece
with 5 cutouts
• 3 round canvas platforms
• 1 top round center hub
• 3 feathers
• 1 netted cover with 2 zippered
removable doors plus 2 drawstrings
• 5 ‘A-B-A’ female connectors
• 5 ‘B-C-D’ vertical support rods –
bottom with prongs
• 5 ‘D-E-F-G’ vertical support rods –
top with 2 sets of prongs
• 1 canvas top wrap
• 30 nut caps
**IMPORTANT** Place round mesh fl oor piece where it will be erected
because diameter is 4 feet and will not  t through most doors and gates.

Always make sure silver bearings on all arcs are facing in the UP position. Slide arc ‘A’ through canvas sleeves of ground fl oor piece and connect to
pieces ‘A-B-A’. ‘A’s in horizontal position. Ball bearings on arcs should slide into holes on ‘A-B-A’ connector. Do this until all connectors are in place
and the circle is complete.
**IMPORTANT** ‘A-B-A’ female connectors should curve inwardly slightly as they will complete the  rst circle on the fl oor of the Teepee.
Now you are ready to place each of the 5 vertical support rods ‘B-C-D’. Bottom ‘B’ slides into the horizontal female connectors labeled ‘B’. The ball
bearings should slide into holes on ‘A-B-A’ connector and click. The ‘B’s should match up ‘B’ to ‘B’ and ‘A’s should match up to ‘A’s. It is important
to remember that the prongs point UP on all the vertical support rods. Repeat with all 5 ‘B-C-D’ vertical support rods.
Now you are ready to start the  rst level tier. Place each ‘C’ arc onto the prongs on the vertical support rods ‘B-C-D’ already erected. If ‘C’ arcs do
not  t onto the prongs easily DO NOT FORCE. The arc is upside down. When you are sure that ‘C’ arcs are in the correct position, slide them
through the hem of the largest of the 3 canvas platforms and set them into the prongs at each vertical support rod at ‘C’ position. Make sure arcs are
in the UP position as indicated with an arrow label pointing UP. DO NOT FORCE. If arc does not  t easily, turn it upside down and try again.
Do this all the way around. Then screw a nut cap onto prongs to secure arcs in place. Do this on all prongs and arcs on each level.

Attach ‘D-E-F-G’ vertical rods onto top of vertical rods ‘B-C-D’ already erected. ‘D’ should match ‘D’. Slip in silver ball bearings to snap into hole
and click. Add arcs ‘E’ on the second platform in the same way you did on the rst, but this time at the ‘E’ position. **IMPORTANT** make sure
the opening on the canvas platform for the cat access hole is not over the lower access hole. The access openings from level to level should be
staggered. Repeat the same process with the top platform with the smallest arcs ‘F’ and canvas platform. REMEMBER to stagger access cut outs
from level to level.
Repeat same process with the top tier using ‘F’ arcs. ‘F’ should match ‘F’. REMEMBER to stagger access holes from level to level. Place top hub
over ‘G’ on top of each vertical support rod and slide into place until ball bearings snap and click. ‘G’ should match ‘G’.
Slide netted cover over the top of
the unit. Doors should not cover
vertical support rods. Zipper
should run along vertical support
rods ‘C-B’.
When netting is over entire
Teepee, tighten with the two
drawstrings on bottom to keep
pets from escaping. Bottom
of unit should look like this.
Periodically check drawstrings
under unit to keep netting as
taught as possible.
Wrap canvas top wrap around hub at top of Teepee and secure. Add feathers.

Tips for Shy Pets
What happens if your pet doesn’t take an immediate liking to the Kittywalk® Teepee?
Sometimes customers say, “I can’t seem to get my pet into my Kittywalk®Teepee. It’s afraid and won’t go in willingly!” That is not an unusual reaction for a pet. To
familiarize your pet with the Teepee, follow these few simple instructions. More than likely your pet will take to it as his own domain and will want to spend time
there. Use the following steps to get your pet familiar with the Teepee.
• Put your Kittywalk® Teepee inside your home, but not yet assembled, so that your pet can fully inspect and get used to the new items and scents at it’s leisure.
• When your pet is comfortable near the un-ercted Kittywalk® Teepee–your pet will naturally want to explore it. Make a game of it with a pet toy if that helps.
• When your pet is comfortable near the un-ercted Kittywalk® Teepee, set the unit up indoors and let your pet become used to the newly erected
Kittywalk® Teepee.
• After he/she is comfortable playing in the Kittywalk® Teepee indoors, set it up outdoors where you can visually supervise. Allow your pet to use it for short
periods of supervised time at rst -- then gradually increase the time over the next couple of days. This way your pet will get used to being in an increasingly
familiar outdoor space.
• Go slowly. If at rst your pet still will not go into the Kittywalk® Teepee, try again the next day. Praise your pet when it makes advances.
