III. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
FUNCTION
The SVS2000 accepts input signals from half- or full-bridge strain gage load cells through a high resolution (up
to 21-bit) analog-to-digital converter. Resolution and gain are adjustable for optimal system performance. Weight
is displayed at the indicator and the data can be serially polled from a master device. Analog and digital outputs
can be generated from the inputs to the SVS2000 to provide auxiliary controls.
QUICK CONFIGURATION
Adjusts system parameters and precalibrates unit without special load cells.
SENTRYTM
Separates mixer and plant vibrations from weight changes. This provides accurate and reliable weight readings.
Performance for demanding applications with up to 21-bit resolution.
Simple, understandable operator messages eliminates special coding/decoding, cryptic setup and
diagnostic messages.
Displays the weight as a bar graph or digital readout.

housing. Install drip loops and seal conduit with silicone rubber product.
DISCONNECT REQUIREMENTS FOR PERMANENTLY INSTALLED EQUIPMENT
A dedicated disconnecting device (circuit breaker) must be provided for the proper installation of the unit. If
independent circuits are used for power input and main relay outputs, individual disconnects are required.
INSTALLATION
CAUTION: ONLY USE SIKAFLEX 1A POLYURETHANE SEALANT OR DOW CORNING RTV 739 OR
RTV 738. OTHER SEALANTS MAY CONTAIN ACETIC ACID, WHICH IS HARMFUL TO SENSORS
AND ELECTRONICS.
This section describes how to wire the SVS2000. Installation of sensors is described in the applicable sensor
installation manuals.

Route the AC power cable and the set point cables separate from the low-level signal cable. Doing so will avoid
electrical interference in the sensor signals and the communications signals.
1. Connect sensor wiring.
2. Connect relay output, digital output, analog output, serial output, and remote input wiring, as applicable.
3. Connect AC power.
4. Apply power and check display.
6. Tighten set screws that secure wires to the terminal boards to 8 lbf/in. of torque.
GENERAL (ABS ENCLOSURE)
against water entry. If applicable, install conduit drains at conduit’s lowest elevation(s) to allow condensation to
drain.
The SVS2000 power supply is 115/230 VAC switch selectable.
WIRING SENSORS
Refer to page 16 for details on wiring the sensors to the SVS2000. The wiring between the junction box and
SVS2000 must be continuous (no splices). Note If the voltage decreases as weight is added to the vessel during
operation, check wiring for polarity errors.
WIRING RELAYS, DIGITAL OUTPUTS, AND REMOTE TARE
Refer to page 15 for details on wiring the relays, digital outputs, and remote tare input.
WIRING OPTIONAL PCBS
SEALING OPENINGS IN ENCLOSURE
After you complete wiring installation, seal the openings in the SVS2000 enclosure to prevent moisture seepage.
Spread a generous bead of sealant around the threads of each K-M supplied plug. Screw a plug into each
opening in the enclosure not being used for wiring.
