Warm and Cold Starts
CAUTION
During a restart, the analog outputs go to zero,
and relays go to their normally open state. A re-
start is a process that lasts around ten seconds,
and it may result in several changes of state
for an output, turning equipment off and on
abruptly. Before resetting the FlexStat, manually
override equipment as needed. If a large fan
is controlled by the FlexStat, for example, set
a minimum off time. See Fan Setup on page 6
(built-in, selectable applications with compres-
sors have a default programmed minimum off
time of 300 seconds).
Awarm startdoesthefollowingintheFlexStat:
• (Aer zeroing out objects during the restart
process) restores present values of objects to
their last values before the restart (untiltheyare
updatedbytheFlexStat’sprograms).
• Restartsthecontroller’sControlBasicprograms.
• Leavescongurationandprogrammingintact.
CAUTION
If the checksum test in RAM fails during a warm
start, a cold start is performed instead.

• (Aer zeroing out objects during the restart
process) returns all object values to their relin-
quished defaults(untiltheyareupdatedbythe
FlexStat’sprograms).
