CO2 Sensor Calibration
TheBAC-13xxxxmodels(withT6613modelsensors)
donothaveacalibrationwithgasoption.Ituses
AutomaticBackgroundLogic,orABCLogic™,apat-
entedself-calibrationtechniquedesignedtobeused
inapplicationswhereconcentrationswilldropto
outsideambientconditions(approximately400
ppm)atleastthreetimesina14dayperiod,typi-
callyduringunoccupiedperiods.WithABCLogic
enabled,thesensorwilltypicallyreachitsoperation-
alaccuracyaer25hoursofcontinuousoperation
ifitwasexposedtoambientreferencelevelsofair
at400±10ppmCO2.Thesensorwillmaintainac-
curacyspecicationswithABCLogicenabled,given
thatitisatleastfourtimesin21daysexposedtothe
referencevalueandthisreferencevalueisthelowest
concentrationtowhichthesensorisexposed.ABC
Logicrequirescontinuousoperationofthesensorfor
periodsofatleast24hours.
TheBAC-14xxxxmodels(withT6615modelsen-
sors)haveacalibrationoptionforapplyinggas
tothesensorformaintainingmaximumaccuracy.
TheBAC-14xxxxhasadualchannelsensor(aCO2
channelmeasuresgasconcentration,andareference
channelmeasuresthesensorsignalintensity).Self-
calibrationsareperformedapproximatelyevery24
hoursusingthereferencechannel.Duringtheself-
calibrationthesensorPPMreadingisfrozenandwill
notreacttochangingCO2.
Iftheunithasbeeneld-calibratedsinceleavingthe
factory,informationaboutthelastcalibration(date,
elevation,andppmofreferencegas)willbedis-
playedinthelowerpartofthescreen.
Calibrationshouldbedoneinanareawithstable
spacetemperature.Thereshouldbenosignicantair
drasortemperaturevariationsduringthecalibra-
tionprocedure.
TocalibratetheBAC-14xxxxmodels,aKMCHTO-
1103andaGETelaire2075(orequivalent)kitand
gasarerequired:
1. FollowtheinstructionsintheGETelaire2075(or
equivalent)calibrationkitandgas,availablelo-
callyorfromvendorssuchasinstrumart.com,tes-
tequipmentdepot.com,grainger.com,calibration-
gas.com,and/orbuycalgas.com)foraachinga
regulatorandtubetoacylinderofreferencegas.
2. OntheFlexStat,turnthehexscrewsinthebot-
tomandtopclockwiseuntiltheyclearthecover.
3. Carefullypullthecoverawayfromthebackplate
(mountingbase).
4. Aachtheadapterplate(withaachedpower
cable)fortheBAC-13xxxx/14xxxxFlexStatfrom
theHTO-1103FlexStatFirmwareUpgradeKitto
thebackofthecover.(SeetheHTO-1103Instal-
lationGuideformoreinformation.)
5. Removetheprotectiverubbercapfromthepower
adaptorcable’stwopinsandinsertthepinsinto
the24VACpowersection(Comand~onlower
right)ofthewall-mountedterminalblocks.(Keep
thecaponthepinswhennotinuse.)Allowthe
unittowarmupforseveralminutesbeforepro-
ceeding.
6. Removetheprotectivecapsfrombothofthecali-
brationtubeingsonthebackoftheFlexStat
board.
