2.Note
Please read these operating instructions before unpacking and putting the unit
into operation. Follow the instructions precisely as described herein.
The devices are only to be used, maintained and serviced by persons familiar
with these operating instructions and in accordance with local regulations
applying to Health & Safety and prevention of accidents.
When used in machines, the measuring unit should be used only when the
machines fulfil the EWG-machine guidelines.

3.Regulation Use
The model MAN-SF devices are used to display, monitor and transmit pressure-
dependent production processes in machines and plants.
MAN-SF relative pressure measurement (option: absolute)
MAN-BF differential pressure measurement
The devices comprise the following components:
4-digit display
The devices are fitted with a 4-digit, 14 mm high LED to display the measured
pressure.
4 alarm LEDs
To display the control state of limit contacts (available as an optional extra).
Illuminated dialogue display
The 10-digit illuminated LCD serves to display limit values or hysteresis.
Functions and parameters are displayed in the programming mode.
Analogue output
The devices are fitted with an analogue output. The analogue output can be set
at the factory for 0–20 mA, 4–20 mA, or 0–10 V.
2 or 4 limit value relays (optional)
Up to four programmable limit contacts can be supplied as an option for
monitoring and control purposes.
4.Operating Principle
The pressure to be measured is sensed by a piezo-resistive sensor, and
displayed by the electronics. An analogue signal is also available for remote
control. The devices are fitted with a microprocessor. The various functions and
parameters may be set via keypad at the front.

5.Instrument Inspection
Instruments are inspected before shipping and sent out in perfect condition.
Should damage to a device be visible, we recommend a thorough inspection of
the delivery packaging. In case of damage, please inform your parcel service /
forwarding agent immediately, since they are responsible for damages during
transit.
Scope of delivery:
•Digital Pressure Gauge
•Pressure transmitter (mounted in non-detachable way for MAN-SF26)
•Mounting angle (MAN-SF20, MAN-BF20)
•Ring for panel mounting (MAN-SF28V, MAN-BF28V)
6.Mechanical Connection
Before installation:
•Make sure that the maximum pressure in your process is within the measuring
range of the Digital Pressure Gauge. The measuring range is written on the
nameplate.
•Make sure that the approved maximum operating temperatures for the device
are not exceeded.
•Make sure that the electrical supply for the devices is in accordance with the
operating data for the device.
•Remove all transport safety locks.

Installation
•Ensure that the line is de-pressurised.
•The Digital Pressure Gauge is mounted like a mechanical pressure gauge.
•For standard threaded connection: sealing is with a suitable gasket
(22.5 x 25.7 x 1.3 flat gasket, or sealing washer according to DIN 16258).
•Do not screw in the device using the case, but rather by using the at hexagon
(SW 27).
•If possible, check that the connection screwing/pipe joint is sealed after
mechanical installation.

7.Electrical Connection
Attention! Make sure that the voltage values of your system
correspond with the voltage values of the Digital Pressure Gauge.
Make sure that the supply wires are powerless during installation.
•Remove the plastic cap at the
rear of the device.
•Insert the cable in the cable
gland and mount. Check the PG
fitting for tightness.
•Remove the push-on terminal
strip, and connect the cable
according to the wiring diagram

•Plug the terminal strip onto the socket of the device.
•Put on the plastic cap and tighten. Make sure the sealing washer is correctly
positioned in the plastic cap.

8.Operation
Functions and parameters are divided into three levels.
LEVEL 0 User Level
This level may be accessed by any user (a password is not required).
The following functions are available.
•Zero-point adjustment of the display (inPUt ↓ S-ZEro)
•Service (SErVicE)
•View serial number (SErVicE n)
•Enter master password to view the passwords
(SErVicE  MAStr) (see 10.3)
•Limit contacts (option) (rELAiS 1-4)
•Setpoint (rELAiS 1-4 SPt1-4)
•Setpoint hysteresis (rELAiS 1-4  HyS1-4)
•Delay time for setpoints (rELAiS 1-4  dEL1-4)
•Auxiliary functions (option)
•Scaling the analogue output (outZP)
•Scaling the display (diSPLAY)
•Setting the peak memory unit (Pdu)
•Setting the relay rotation (rotAtE)
•Setting the RS 232 interface (bAud)
All menu items in LEVEL 1 and LEVEL 2 (except the menu item service) can be
enabled or disabled for LEVEL 0.
LEVEL 1 Master Level
A password must be entered to access this level. All LEVEL 1 functions (for
LEVEL 0) may be enabled/disabled in this level. LEVEL 0settings may also be
assigned in LEVEL 1 (useful when LEVEL 0 is disabled).
The following functions are also available:
•Service (SErVicE)
•Displaying the dialog display in operating mode (SErVicE ↓SEE-Lcd)
•Changing the LEVEL 1 password (SErVicE  PA-1)
LEVEL 2 Auxiliary functions Level
(see section 12. Adjustment of the Additional Option)
Access to this level is via LEVEL 1 with password entry.
All optional auxiliary functions may be enabled/disabled in this level. Settings for
auxiliary functions may also be assigned in LEVEL 2 (useful when LEVEL 0 is
disabled).
The following functions are also available:

10. Functions Settings
Note! Each digit is individually set in the setting mode. Each digit
has a particular significance: the first digit from the right has a
significance of 1; the second digit 10; the third 100; and the leftmost
digit 1000. Please note that an overflow occurs with each digit. For
example, a pre-set value of 01.52: if the leftmost digit is
decremented with the "↓" key, the new value is -08.48, as the old
value has been reduced by 1000.
10.1. Zero-Point Adjustment of the Display
(May not be visible, if disabled in Level 1)
For correcting the zero-point. This value may be corrected up to approximately
25% of the full-scale value.

10.2. Serial Number Indications
The device serial number may be read here for service purposes; it may be read
but not altered.
10.3. Setting the Limit Contacts (optional)
(May not be visible, if disabled in Level 1)
As an option, the devices may be fitted with up to four independently adjustable
limit contacts. The following setting examples apply to relay No. 1.
Relays 2 to 4 are set in the same manner.
Select the relay menu display in Level 0. The following values may be set for
each relay:

Note:
When adjusting the set-points, remember that the hysteresis may be
above the new set-point, and may be enabled until the relay set-point is
accepted. The hysteresis is only loaded when accepted.

10.4. Access to Level 1 (Master Level)
All above menu items may be set in Level 0and Level 1, as well. This is
necessary if the menu item in Level 0has been disabled. Access to Level 1
is with password entry via Level 0. The unit automatically returns to the
operating mode after three incorrect entries. The password set at the factory
is "0001". This password may be changed by the operator (see section 11.3).

The set-points and hysteresis display in the operating mode may be set
in Level 1.
Settings:
0= Setpoint 1 and 2 are displayed beside one another
1= All set-points are alternatively displayed every 1.5 s
2= All set-points and hysteresis are alternatively displayed every 1.5 s
3= Set-point and hysteresis for relay 1 are simultaneously displayed.

12. Adjustment of the Additional Option
All following menu items may be set in Level 2. In addition, some of the
menu points respective functions can be enabled for Level 0. Access to Level
2 is via Level 0 and Level 1 with password entry. The unit automatically
returns to the operating mode after three incorrect entries. The password for
Level 1, set at the factory, is "0001" and for Level 2 “0002”.
This password may be changed by the operator (see section 11.3).

The reset time of the maximum peak memory can be adjusted with an internal
timer. Response time 1...99999 sec.
12.2.2. Specification of the Minimum or Maximum Peak Memory (PduFct)

In this function the maximum peak memory can be adjusted as minimum
or maximum peak memory.
