► Ensure that the baby monitoring units and power cables are out of reach of babies/children, i.e.
they are at least one meter away.

► Always treat batteries with due care and attention and only use batteries as described.
► Never use standard and rechargeable batteries together. Never use rechargeable batteries or

INTENDED USE
The baby monitor serves to monitor a baby/child in a room. The transmitter unit, located near the
child, transmits noises made by the baby/child to the receiver unit. Any other use is considered
unintended use. Unauthorised modification or reconstruction is not permitted. Under no
circumstances open the devices or complete any repair work yourself.
iThe devices are not intended for medical purposes. Warning and signal tones from respiratory
or heartbeat monitoring equipment are not transmitted.
USE ONLY IN SUITABLE ENVIRONMENTS
Observe all local directives and regulations.
Prevent excessive exposure to smoke, dust, vibration, chemicals, moisture, heat and direct sunlight.

PUTTING THE RECEIVER UNIT INTO OPERATION
Inserting batteries in the receiver unit
► Slide the battery compartment cover on the
rear downwards and remove it.
► Insert the batteries in the battery compartment,
paying attention to correct polarity.
► Close the battery compartment cover.
Charging the batteries
Connect the power adapter plug to the power adapter
socket [15] on the receiver and a properly installed mains
power outlet and insert the receiver unit in the charger.
iThe batteries must be charged for at least 8
hours before being used for the first time.
Switching the receiver unit on/off
► 5 sec. [4] ➥Receiver unit is switched on.
► 5 sec. [4] ➥ Receiver unit is switched off.
Operating and charging indicators on the receiver unit
Operating/Charging indicator [2] lights up ➥ The receiver unit is switched on.
Operating/Charging indicator [2] flashes ➥ Batteries are being charged.

PUTTING THE TRANSMITTER UNIT INTO OPERATION
The transmitter unit can be powered either by the mains power supply via the power adapter plug
[21] or by 4 rechargeable or standard AAA batteries.
Inserting the batteries in the transmitter unit
The batteries for the transmitter unit are not included with the equipment supplied.
► Loosen the screw holding the battery
compartment cover [24] using an appropriate screwdriver
and remove the battery compartment cover [23].
► Insert the batteries (4 x AAA) in the battery
compartment, paying attention to correct polarity.
► Replace the battery compartment cover [23] and
tighten the screw in the battery compartment
cover [24] with an appropriate screwdriver.
iThe transmitter can be operated with 4 “AAA”
batteries (not contained in the material supplied) or with rechargeable batteries of the same
type. Please remember that the batteries cannot be recharged directly in the device. A
commercially available charging unit is required.
Connecting the transmitter unit via the power adapter plug
► Connect the power adapter plug to the power adapter socket [21] on the transmitter unit and
a properly installed mains power outlet. ➥ The transmitter unit is switched on automatically.
Mounting the base on the transmitter unit
Insert and tighten the screw in the thread [22] in the base on the rear side of the transmitter unit.
Switching the transmitter unit on/off
The transmitter unit continues to transmit even when the receiver unit is switched off. The signals
can be received by other devices.
► 5 sec. [19] ➥ Transmitter unit is switched on.
► 5 sec. [19] ➥ Transmitter unit is switched off.
Operating indicator on transmitter unit
Operating indicator [17] lights up. Transmitter unit is switched on.
Registering/Deregistering transmitter units
► 5 sec. [4] ➥ Operating indicator [17] flashes quickly.
► 5 sec. [20] ➥ Operating indicator [17] flashes slowly.
iAfter about one minute, the operating indicator [17] lights up continuously - the transmitter
unit is registered on the receiver unit.

The equipment has a range of up to 300 m. The range can be reduced by obstructions, such
as walls etc. Electronic equipment in the vicinity can also cause disturbance.

If the bars run through the battery icon, the batteries are being charged.
Talk function
➨ [10] ➥Voice communication is possible from the receiver unit to the transmitter unit.
The receiver unit cannot receive signals while the button [10] is pressed.Release
the button [10] in order to receive signals from the transmitter unit again.
Settings using the menu
The menu can be used to execute various functions and define diverse settings. All the settings are
confirmed by pressing the button [5]. Press the button [9] to skip one menu level back.
► [5] Open the menu.
Selecting the language
► [9] Language <?>
► [6] or [8] Select the language required.
Date and time
➨ Use this menu to set the year, month, day, hour and minute. It is also possible to define
whether to display the time in the 12-hour or 24-hour format.

Setting the volume
➨[6] Raise the volume.

Setting the feed alert/time
You can set a feed alert/time to be sounded at a specific time or at specific intervals.
If you set a feed alert/time to be issued at intervals, ensure that the date and time are set correctly.
Setting the feed time
Example: 12.30 p.m.

Setting the feed alert at an interval
Example: 2 hours 30 minutes

Activating the feed alert at intervals

Deactivating the feed alert at intervals

Setting the volume of the feed alert

The feed alert can be stopped by pressing any button on the receiver unit.
PAGING
If you have misplaced the receiver unit and cannot find it, simply use the Paging function. The
receiver unit then issues a loud acoustic signal.
On the transmitter unit
➨5 sec. [20] The receiver unit issues a loud acoustic signal.
The acoustic signal can be stopped by pressing any button on the receiver unit.
Voice activation
The voice activation facility (Vox function) is activated by default. As soon as the transmitter unit
registers acoustic signals, they are transmitted to the receiver unit.

The noise level indicator [1] provides a visual alert of sounds issued by the baby instead transmitting
the acoustic
signals.

iWhen the baby alarm is activated, no acoustic signals are transferred from the transmitter
unit to the receiver unit.
TEMPERATURE
The ambient temperature of the transmitter unit is displayed on the receiver unit. You can set the
temperature unit for display and a tolerable temperature range.

NIGHT-LIGHT
The transmitter unit is equipped with an integrated night-light [18].

iIf you deactivate the Nightlight<?>, the TempAlert<?> function is also deactivated.
IN CASE OF PROBLEMS
1. The transmitter unit does not transmit any signals.
► The sensitivity of the noise activation is set to too low a level. Increase the sensitivity in the
corresponding menu.
► The batteries are weak or the power adapter plug is not connected properly. Connect the
transmitter unit with the power adapter plug to a properly installed power socket.
2. The transmitter unit transmits sounds continuously.
► The sensitivity of the noise/motion activation is set to too high a level. Lower the sensitivity in the
corresponding menu.
3. The batteries in the receiver unit are discharged after a short time.
► Transmission of sounds is activated continuously. Adapt the settings to save the batteries.
► The batteries are defective/damaged. Contact your sales outlet for new batteries.
4. Short range.
► There are too many walls or other electrical appliances between the receiver and transmitter
units.
► Move the location of the receiver and transmitter units.
► The batteries in the transmitter unit are weak or the power adapter plug is not connected
properly. Connect the transmitter unit with the power adapter plug to a properly installed
power socket.
MAINTENANCE
► Clean the surface of the housing with a soft, fluff-free cloth.
► Do not use any cleaning agents or solvents.

DISPOSAL
In order to dispose of your device, take it to a collection point provided by your local
public waste authorities (e.g. recycling centre). According to the laws on the disposal of
electronic and electrical devices, owners are obliged to dispose of old electronic and
electrical devices in a separate waste container. The adjacent symbol indicates that the
device must not be disposed of in normal domestic waste!
You are legally obliged to dispose of power packs and batteries at the point of sale
or in the corresponding containers provided at collection points by local public waste
authorities. Disposal is free of charge. The symbols indicate that the batteries must not
be disposed of in normal domestic waste and that they must be brought to collection
points provided by local public waste authorities.
Packaging materials must be disposed of according to local regulations.
