•This camera is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the camera by
a person responsible for their safety.
•This camera is intended for consumer use.
•Do not expose the USB power cord to water, heat, or direct sunlight.
•Do not allow the USB power cord to overhang where it can be pulled, damaged, or
pose a hazard.
•Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the camera yourself.
•If the camera is damaged, stop use immediately and contact help.Kogan.com for
assistance.

Plug one end of the USB power cord into the power port located on the bottom of the
camera. Plug the other end into the power adapter.
From here, there are two methods the camera can be installed:
•Using the mounting brackets
•Using the round adhesive
Mounting bracket installation method
1. Align the mounting bracket onto a clean stable surface. With a pen or pencil, mark
the location of the two holes of the mounting bracket onto the surface. Remove the
mounting bracket from the surface.
2.Using a drill (not supplied), form holes on the marked locations. Align the mounting
bracket with the drilled holes, then secure the mounting bracket with the provided
screws into the holes.
3.Align and twist the camera onto the grooves of the mounting bracket to secure it into
place.

Round adhesive installation method
1. Peel off the backing from the round adhesive and stick the adhesive onto a clean flat
surface.
2.Firmly stick the camera onto the round adhesive.
After installing the camera with either mounting bracket or round adhesive, insert the power
adapter into a socket and switch the socket on. The status light on the camera will start
blinking red and the camera will emit a tone.
Note:
The camera will remain on as long as it is connected to power. It cannot remotely be
turned on or off.

Install App
Download the “Kogan SmarterHome” app from the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS).
Register
If you do not have a Kogan SmarterHome™ account, register or sign in with a verification
code sent by SMS.
To register:
1. Ta p to enter registration page.
2.The system automatically recognises your country/area. You can also select your
country code manually. Enter your email address and tap ‘Next.’
3.Alternatively, you can select ‘Register by mobile number’ and enter the verification
code sent to you by SMS.
4.Create a profile on the next page to define your location and room.

Set device in pairing mode
When the device is first turned on, it may automatically enter pairing mode (status light is
flashing).
If not automatically in pairing mode when powered on, you can manually set the device in
pairing mode by using the pin and pressing and holding the reset button for 5–10 seconds.
The camera will emit a tone, then wait until the camera emits a different second tone. The
status light will then be flashing.
Add device through network
5.Once registered, tap “+” in the upper right corner of the app’s home page to add a
new device through the network.
6.Select the product type from the list of options in the app (Home Security > Cameras).
7. Ensure that the device is in pairing mode, with the status light flashing, and tap
“Confirm light is rapidly flashing”.
8.Upon successfully confirming pairing mode, enter your Wi-Fi details. It is important
that your SmarterHome™ device and the app are connected to the same Wi-Fi
network during setup.

9.Tap ‘Continue’. The mobile device will display a QR code. Hold the camera 15–20cm
away from the mobile device to allow the camera lens to scan the QR code. Tap ‘I
Heard a Prompt’ when you hear an audio tone from the camera.
10. The device will commence the pairing process and connect to the app. Ensure your
Wi-Fi router, mobile phone, and the SmarterHome™ device are kept close until
connection is complete.
11. After successfully being added, you will have the option to rename the device and
assign it to a location. It will now be listed on the app’s home page. Tap the device
listing to enter its control page.
If you are unable to connect the camera after several repeated attempts using this method,
try connecting the camera using the AP mode connection steps outlined below.
Notes:
•The device and the app have to use the same Wi-Fi network.
•The device is only compatible with 2.4Ghz networks.

AP mode connection steps
Set device in pairing mode
When the device is first turned on, it may automatically enter pairing mode (status light is
flashing).

The camera will emit a tone, then wait until the camera emits a different second tone. The

Using AP Mode to add device
1. Once registered, tap “+” in the upper right corner of the app’s home page to add a
new device through the network.
2.Select the product type from the list of options in the app (Home Security > Cameras),
and then select “QR Code”from the top-right corner when asked to reset the device.

3.Select “AP Mode” for the set-up type.
4.Ensure that the device is in pairing mode, with the example of indicator, and tap
“Confirm light is slowly flashing”.
5.Enter your Wi-Fi details. It is important that your SmarterHome™ device and the app
are connected to the same Wi-Fi network during setup.

6.Follow the in-app prompts to continue AP Mode connection, which will pair your
mobile phone to the device’s Wi-Fi hotspot to ensure a connection.
7. The device will commence the pairing process and connect to the app. Ensure your
Wi-Fi router, mobile phone, and the SmarterHome™ device are kept close until
connection is complete.
8.After successfully being added, you will have the option to rename the device and
assign it to a location. It will now be listed on the app’s home page. Tap the device
listing to enter its control page.
Notes:
•The device and the app have to use the same Wi-Fi network.
•The device is only compatible with 2.4Ghz networks.
Note:
If the Wi-Fi hotspot does not appear on your phone in the list of available
networks, your device may not be set in AP Pairing Mode correctly. Try repeating
the steps outlined above to ensure your device is ready for connection.

Adding “SmarterHome” to the Google Home app
1. From the home page of the Google Home app, select the “+” icon to access the ‘Add
and manage’ page.
2.Select ‘Set up device’, then under the Works with Google banner, select ‘Have
something already set up?’
3.Select the search bar and type ‘Smarter Home’ to locate the Kogan SmarterHome™
service.

You will need to have set up a Google Home account prior to linking your
Kogan SmarterHome™ device.

4.Tap ‘Authorise’ to grant Google permission to access the SmarterHome™ app and
your devices.
5.From here, you will be prompted to sign into your SmarterHome™ account using
either your email or mobile phone number, depending on which method you used to
register your account.

6.Once connected, the app will display any compatible devices linked to your
SmarterHome™ account. From here you can assign them to rooms and set up any
routines.
7. Tap on any of the devices to view a list of available commands.

Adding “SmarterHome” to the Alexa app
1. From the home page of the Alexa app, select the “ ” icon in the top-right and select
Skills & Games from the sidebar.
2.Select the search bar and type ‘Smarter Home’ to locate the Kogan SmarterHome™
skill.

Note:
You will need to have set up an Alexa account prior to linking your Kogan
SmarterHome™ device.

3.Tap ‘Enable to Use’ to add the Kogan SmarterHome™ skill to Alexa.
4.From here, you will be prompted to sign into your SmarterHome™ account using
either your email or mobile phone number, depending on which method you used to
register your account.
5.Tap ‘Authorise’ to grant Alexa permission to access the SmarterHome™ app and your
devices.

6.Once connected, the app will perform a search and display the devices linked to your
SmarterHome™ account.
7. When your devices have successfully connected to the Alexa app, you will be able to
control your Kogan SmarterHome™ devices via Alexa’s voice commands.
Note:
Please note that Alexa can only control the base/core functions of any compatible
SmarterHome™ devices. To make full use of this product’s smart functionality,
please use the Kogan SmarterHome™ app.

App interface
Function Description
Playback Allows users to watch back footage captured from the camera.
Gallery
•Allows users to see taken screenshots.
•To gain more storage, insert a microSD card (not included) into
the microSD card slot. Ensure the microSD card is formatted to
FAT32.
Theme Colour Allows users to change the colour theme of the interface.
Night Mode Allows users to capture and watch footage when there is little to
no light in the environment.
Motion Detection Sets up a motion detection alarm.
Sound Detection Sets up a sound detection alarm.
Edit Allows users to edit the saved name of the camera.
