4 SLICE TOASTER

When using an electrical appliance basic safety precautions should always be followed
including the following:
1. Read all instructions.
2. Ensure that your power outlet voltage corresponds to the voltage stated on the
rating label of the toaster.
3. Do not touch any hot surface. Use handles or knobs only.

toaster in water or other liquid.
5. Close supervision is necessary when it is used by or near children.
6. Unplug the unit from the power outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
7. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged or abnormal cord or plug. If the
main cord is damaged, it must be replaced by Kogan.com or a service agent on
Kogan.com's behalf.
8. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter or touch any hot
surfaces.
9. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
10. Do not use the appliance in any way other than its intended use.
11. Oversized food, metal foil packages or utensils must not be inserted in the toaster
as they may cause fire or electric shock.
12. Bread may burn, so toasters must not be used near or below curtains or any other
combustible materials and should be watched at all times.
13. The use of accessory attachments is not recommended by Kogan.com and may
cause injuries.
14. Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is in operation.
15. Be sure to take the bread out carefully after toasting so as to avoid injuries.
16. Children aged 8 years and above or persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities should only use this appliance while under supervision or
instruction from an adult or carer.
17. Children aged 8 and above should not clean or perform user maintenance on this
appliance unless under supervision or instruction from an adult or carer.
18. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged under 8 years.
19. Warning: When using any bread slices less than 85mm in length, care must be
taken to avoid the potential risk of burning when removing the slices.
20. This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or
separate remote-control system.
21. Don’t use this appliance outdoors.
SAFETY & WARNINGS

22. This appliance is intended to be used in households and similar applications such
as:
• Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
• Farm houses;
• By clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
• Bed and breakfast type environments.
23. The “Hot Surface” warning symbol on the appliance means some of the surfaces
may get hot while the appliance is in use.
24. Do not discard these instructions.
Power Outlet Plug
This appliance uses a plug that has been designed to fit the power outlet only one way.
If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, do not modify the plug in any way, it must be
replaced by Kogan.com or a service agent on Kogan.com's behalf.
Power Cord
A. A short power-supply cord (or detached power-supply cord) has been provided to
reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a long cord.
B. An extension cord may be used if care is exercised in their use.
C. If an extension cord is used;
I. The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great
as the electrical rating of the appliance.
II. The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or
tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
CAUTION!
1. Remove all protective wrappings prior to first use.
2. If toaster begins to smoke, press the Cancel button to stop toasting immediately.
3. Avoid toasting any food with extremely runny ingredients such as butter.
4. Never attempt to remove any food jammed in the slots without unplugging the
toaster from the electrical outlet first. Ensure not to damage the internal
mechanism or heating elements when removing food.
5. The bread slot is intended for toasting regular shaped bread slices. When using
irregular or round bread, extra caution should be taken to avoid burning.
6. In order to achieve uniform colour, it is recommended that you should wait a
minimum of 30 seconds between each toasting so that colour control can reset
automatically.

OVERVIEW

For the First Use
As there may be manufacturing residue or oil in the toaster or heat element, usually it
will emit an odour during first use. This is normal and will not occur after several uses.
For the first use it is suggested to follow to the below steps, except without bread, then
let the toaster cool down and begin toasting the first slice.
Using Your Toaster
1. Put bread slice into the bread slot(s).Ensure the Crumb trays are properly in place
before using.
2. Plug the Power cord into the power outlet.
3. Set the Control dial to your desired colour. There are 7 levels of colour control, the
lowest “1” is for light and the highest “7” is for dark. The bread slice can be toasted
to golden colour in the middle position.
To a s t colour for one slice will be darker than that of two slices at the same level.
If toasting continuously, colour for the latter bread is darker than that for the
anterior bread at the same level.
4. Lower To a s t l e v e r down vertically until it is latched in place, the indicator on the
Cancel button will be illuminated and the appliance will begin toasting at once.
5. Once the bread has been toasted to the pre-set colour, the To a s t l e v e r will
automatically pop up. The Toast lever can be further lifted up to help removal of
the toast.
During toasting, you may also observe the toasting colour. If the desired level has
been reached, you can press the Cancel button to cancel the operation at any
time. Never lift the Toast lever to cancel toasting.
OPERATION
Note:
The To a s t l e ve r can only be latched when the appliance is plugged in.

1. If you want to toast frozen bread, firstly press the Defrost button and the indicator
on the Defrost button will be illuminated, set the Control dial to your desired colour
and then lower the Toast lever until it is latched in place. In this mode bread will be
toasted to your desired colour.
2. If you want to warm cold toasted bread, firstly press the Reheat button and the
indicator on the Reheat button will be illuminated, set the Control dial to your
desired colour and then lower the Toast lever until it is latched in place. In this mode
toasting time is fixed. When time runs over, the To a s t l e v e r will automatically
spring up and end up the reheating process.
1. Before cleaning, unplug the appliance from the power outlet and let the appliance
cool down completely.
2. Wipe the outside with a soft dry cloth, never use metal polish.
3. Remove Crumb trays at the bottom of toaster and empty them. If toaster is used
frequently, accumulated bread crumbs should be removed at least once a week.
Ensure the Crumb trays are properly inserted before using the toaster again.
4. When not in use, the power cord may be wound under the bottom of toaster for
storage purposes.
Disposal
This marking indicates that this appliance should not be disposed with other
house-hold wastes. To prevent possible harm to the environment or human
health from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle it responsibly to promote the
sustainable reuse of material resources.
