1.2 Environmental Information
Auto Low Power
Auto Low Power conserves energy by lowering the power consumption. The time period to activate this func-
tion can be set for --- minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes, 120
minutes, or 240 minutes. Power saving time periods, 90, 120, and 240 minutes, may not be displayed de-
pending on regions.
As default of Auto Low Power, [--- min.] is specified. Setting [--- min.] for Auto Low Power means that Auto
Low Power is disabled.
Setting [--- min.] (OFF) for Auto Shut Off automatically changes the Auto Low Power setting to [5 min.], and
then allows you to change it to another time, other than [--- min.].
When any option other than [--- min.] (OFF) is specified for Auto Shut Off, the time period for Auto Low Power
cannot exceed that for Auto Shut Off.
The highlighted indication of the time in Auto Low Power area goes dark when the same period of time as
that of Auto Shut OFF is selected. In this case, Auto Shut OFF functions instead of Auto Low Power.
Auto Shut Off
Auto Shut Off achieves further energy conservation by reducing power consumption. The time period to ac-
tivate this function can be set for --- minute, 1 minute, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes, 120 minutes, or
240 minutes.
As default of Auto Shut Off, [1 min.] is specified. The touch panel display and LEDs other than the Power Save
and Power LEDs turn off lowering power consumption of the machine.
Setting [--- min.] for Auto Shut Off means that Auto Shut Off is disabled.
The time period for Auto Shut Off cannot be shorter than that for Auto Low Power.
ErP Setting
This is a function that turns the main power switch OFF when a certain period of time elapses with Auto Low
Power activated, Auto Shut Off activated, or the sub power switch turned OFF.
The time period to activate this function can be set for none (Do Not Switch), 12 hours, 24 hours, 36 hours,
48 hours, 60 hours, or 72 hours.
If the Weekly Timer ON/OFF Setting is set to [Weekly Timer ON], the [02 ErP Setting] key will be grayed out
to show inactivity.
We recommend that you utilize the Auto Low Power, Auto Shut Off, and ErP Setting functions.

2.2 Warnings and Precautions for Roll Winder RW-101/Roll Winder RW-201 2
2.2.3 Classification of Other Indications
2.2.4 Safety Precautions
Safety precautions are described below.
-For the safety use of the machine, correct operations and periodic maintenance are essential. Read this
manual carefully beforehand. Never start printing or maintenance work unless you understand them
thoroughly.
-Always follow the operation methods, procedures and safety instructions in this manual. If you do not
follow them described in this manual, we do not take any responsibility for your safety.
-This manual also describes the items that may expose operators to danger or cause machine failures
and damages unless you follow them.
-Covers (safety covers) are installed for the dangerous driving parts of the machine and the parts where
operators may be caught by the machine. They are necessary for safety. Make sure to keep them at-
tached while the machine is operating. If any one of the covers is damaged, repair it immediately.
(Please contact your service representative or our customer engineer.) Never operate the machine until
the damaged cover is repaired.
-Do not alter or modify the machine unless we recommend to do so. When you desire any reconstruction
of the machine, contact us or your service representative. We do not take any responsibility for the re-
constructions we have no concern with.
-WARNING and CAUTION labels (safety labels) are attached to the locations where there is a risk of dan-
ger that may lead to an accident unless attentions are given. Follow the instructions on the labels when
you perform operations around the locations where the labels are attached.
-Never peel off any label. If any one of the labels has been peeled off, ask us or your service represent-
ative for a new label. Certainly attach the new label at the original position.
-When attaching a new one, remove oil and such on the location where the label goes in advance.
-Do not wipe the surface of safety labels with any solvent and such.
-When painting the machine, take extra care not to put paint on the labels.
-Clothes for operating the machine
- For the protection of your feet, put on safety shoes (with metallic protectors at the toes).
- Put on an outer wear with buttons or a zipper and always fasten the buttons or the zipper so that your
inner wears are not caught by the machine. Fasten buttons on wrists of the outer wear or tie off wrists
with bands.
-Operations without covers
- Unless there is a special hazard inside a part or component where a cover is mounted, the cover or the
door does not have any safety limit switch. Therefore, you can open it at any time. However, if there is
a hazard inside, the cover or the door that protects there has a safety limit switch.
- Those covers which have a safety limit switch have a name plate sticker shown below near the handle.
Most of the cases when carrying out paper feeding or maintenance work, you are going to open a cover with
a safety limit switch. Because it is dangerous due to existence of a drive system and it is difficult for you from
the operation panel to see such covers with a safety limit switch or the locations with a drive system (such
as the cover for the feeding shaft) on the front side or the rear side of the machine, the power supply is au-
tomatically shut down if one of such covers is opened.
