II.Caution for handling
1. Precautions against static electricity.
• Keep the hard disk in an antistatic bag while
transporting it or storing it.
• When working in places where static electricity
tends to accumulate, such as on a carpet, dis-
charge electricity from your body by touching-
any metallic portion before handling the hard
disk.
2. Do not touch the contacts on the hard disk with
your hands, as that may result inpoor conductivity.
3. Do not physically damage the hard disk by drop-
ping it, bending it, etc.
4. When handling the hard disk, hold the circuit
board by both sides so that no pressure is applied
to the circuit board face or the top cover.
III. Installation procedures
1. Turn off the machine’s sub and main power switches,
and unplug the power cord from the outlet.
2. Remove the back cover(6 screws).
3. Remove the board cover (4 screws).
4. Install the hard disk unit.
(1) Set the dampers onto the board cover and
hard disk support material.

(2) Fix the hard disk support materials (two places
each) from the front side of the board cover
using the shoulder screws. (Shoulder screw: 4
pcs.)
(3) Fix the hard disk to the hard disk support mate-
rial. (Shoulder screw: 4 pcs.)
(4) Connect the flat cable to the hard disk.
Note:
When connecting the flat cable to the hard disk
connect so that the red line on the flat cable is at
the #1 pin side.
5. Connect the flat cable connector to the system
board and install the board cover to the main
body. (4 screws)
Note:
Be careful of the direction of the connector when
connecting the hard disk flat cable to the system
board. The red line should be on the top.
6. Affix the cushion to the position shown in the fig-
ure below on the back side of the machine Back
cover.
7. Reinstall the back cover(6 screws).

1. Turn on the machine's sub and main power
switches.
2. Press the “Utility/Counter” key.
3. On the [Utility/Counter] screen, touch
“Details” and press the keys in the following
order [Stop]+[0]+[0]+[Stop]+[0]+[1] to enter
[Service Mode].
4. Touch “System 2”.
5. Touch “Option”.
6. Select “Installed” of HDD and touch “OK”.
7. Turn OFF the Sub and Main power switches.

V.HDD Formatting
Step
1. Turn on the machine's sub and main power
switches.
2. Press the “Utility/Counter” key.
3. On the [Utility/Counter] screen, touch
“Details” and press the keys in the following
order [Stop]+[0]+[0]+[Stop]+[0]+[1] to enter
[Service Mode].
4. Touch “State Confirmation”.
5. Touch “Memory/HDD Adjustment”.
6. Touch “HDD Format”.
7. A prompt will appear to format a HDD or not.
Touch “Yes.”
Note:Do not turn the power OFF during
HDD formatting.
8. When the formatting is completed, make sure
to turn OFF and then turn ON the Main and
Sub power switches.
