according to chapter 1.3.
1.2 CHECKING THE INSTRUMENT'S SERIAL NUMBER
The plate with the serial number is mounted on the rear of the instru
ment just below the heat sink.
This number must be identical with the serial number on the delivery
note.

1.4 CHECKING THE MAINS SUPPLY
The HPLC Detector 430 is factory set for 220V 50/60Hz. For operation
with other mains voltages, the correct voltage must be set on the
voltage selector (see picture below).
Possible voltages: 100, 120, 220 und 240 VAC
The fuses on the voltage selector (1) have to be adjusted according to
the mains supply.
Frequency adjustment for 50/60Hz is not necessary.

top on the selector.
- Pull marker wheel (B) and turn it
-to the-required position
- Push (B) back into position
- Pull out both fuse holders (C) and
insert the correct fuses
- Push holders (C) back into posi
tion, obey arrows
- Close snap cover (A)
- Check that the correct voltage is
displayed

1.5 INSTALLATION SITE
The installation site of the instrument should be such that it is
protected from dust, corrosive vapors and vibration. Room temperature
should be constant and lie between 10°C and 35°C. The unit has been
designed to operate in non-condensing atmosphere. Avoid draughts.
Allow 5 cm space on the right hand side of the instrument for sufficient
cooling.
The instrument must be placed on a stable, level surface.

Proceed as follows:
- Insert the enclosed alien key through the access holes (2) and unscrew
the 2 mounting screws.
- Remove the measuring head (1) by pulling outwards.
- Fit the LC cell (3) tightly onto the beam splitter block (4) and mount
it with the screws (5) using the same alien key.
- The capillaries are placed in the guide slots (8).
- Tighten the guide screw nuts (8) for greater stability during opera
tion.
- Replace the measuring head (1), match the socket with the connector
(9) in the casting and retighten the fixing screws.
IMPORTANT !
For stable operation, always connect the inlet to the capillary going to
the thermoring of the flow cell (see figure in chapter 5.2).
Be sure the cell is mounted before starting the measurements !
