The plans below detail how to cut and assemble a desk that is suited for a 5-10 year old child.
Cut List: Let’s start with cut list.
For the sides: cut 2x boards at 18”x6”inches
For the top: cut 1x board at 28”x18” inches
For the bottom: cut 1x board at 28 ½”x18” inches
For the back: cut 1x board at 4 ½ “ x 28 ½” inches
For the legs: cut 4 x boards at 2 ½ “ x 26 ½” inches angled at 12 degrees at both ends
For the leg bridge: cut 2 small boards at 2 ½ “ x 3” inches angled at 12 degrees at both ends

Assembling the Box
Next we’ll start assembling the box. Drill pocket holes in the back, 2 on each side and 4 along the top of
the back. Assemble the sides and Top, and back of the box with wood glue and 1-1/4” inch pocket
screws.
Installing the Bottom
Now let’s add the bottom of the desk. Take the bottom board, drill 3 pocket holes on each and assemble
in place with wood glue and 1-1/4” inch pocket screws.
Assembling the Legs
Finally, let’s start assembling the legs. Drill 2 pocket holes on the inner part of each leg and assemble in
place with wood glue and 1-1/4” inch pocket screws.
Then center and line the legs up with the top of the box and secure in place with wood glue and 1 ¼”
wood screws.
And there you have it. Your very own DIY Kids Desk. Add varnish and paint as you wish for a trendy style.
