the 3 Master Fobs have been tested you may now close the locker door and test to ensure it
opens using the User PIN or Master Fob
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Make sure latch and striker plate are correctly aligned and latch does not bind on any part of the striker plate. A chattering
noise indicates the latch is not perfectly by aligned with striker plate, locker carcass is unlevel, items inside the locker are
putting pressure against the door or, batteries are going flat.
When connecting or disconnecting the Keypad backbox ribbon cable, do not pull on the ribbon cables to unplug it. The keypad
ribbon cable plug has two ridges on it which must face up for correct connection.
If door is locked and PIN or Master Fobs do not open the lock, firstly insert the power bank in the side of the keypad to apply
power to the lock in event of low batteries. If lock still doesn’t open by PIN or Fob remove the power bank from the USB cable
and using a paperclip bent into a U shape, put it the two ends into the two holes on the USB plug to reset the lock externally
Advise your end user customer to instruct users not to overload the locker with private property that could apply pressure on the locker door
from the inside (e.g., backpacks, laptops, and any other bulky items) as this can apply undue pressure on the latch causing it to jam

When the lock is rst used with a User or Master Code the lock may emit a chaering noise. This is a normal funcon
of the lock and not a fault.
Check with your installer to ensure that the latch bolt and striker plate are perfectly aligned.
(Refer to Page 2 Please Note)
ADDENDUM - LOCK CHARACTERISTICS AND FAULT FINDING
Other things that can cause problems with the latch operaon are, overghtening of the screws in the backbox that
hold the keypad on. To overcome this loosen the screws slightly and test the lock with the door open. If the lock
operates normally when the locker door is in the open posion, then most problems are invariably associated with the
installaon; such as a misalignment of the lock latch with the striker plate, (either too ght, too high or too low)
causing the latch to jam, mis-adjustment of the hinges aecng posioning of the door and latch aligning with the
striker plate, movement in the locker carcass such as not being perfectly level, or bulky items inside the locker pung
undue pressure on the locker door prevenng the latch from freely operang.
When the 3071PPAO lock is rst POWERED UP it will be in factory default mode of Private User operation with preset
factory default PINs of 4321+OK as Master PIN and 1234+OK. The latch bolt will be extended allowing the door to be
pushed closed to lock without card or PIN. To Change the Mode from Private to Public, install 3 AA batteries, and reserve
a 4th battery to insert at the same time that you insert a probe or paper clip into the RESET hole on the battery backbox.
Hold the probe down as you insert the 4th battery and wait until you hear 3 beeps confirming that the lock has been
changed from Private to Public share mode.
When the lock is set in Public share mode the latch will be retracted, waiting for a share user RFID card to be presented
or a share user PIN to be entered to extend the latch. After the lock mode has been changed and when a share RFID card
or PIN is used the lock the lock, the lock may produce a chattering noise. This is normal when the latch position
internallyresets for the selected mode. After the Card or PIN is used the latch will be extended ready to close the door.
To enrol the Master Cards, enter the Master PIN 4321+ C and whilst the green LED is flashing, present up to 3 RFID cards
at the keypad/reader one after the other. As each card is enrolled you will get 1 beep. If you do not manage to enrol all 3
Master Cards at the same time, repeat the process.
When the lock has been reset to Public Mode the Auto-Open timer is enabled. If you do not want the lock to
automatically open in Share User mode you need to DISABLE the timer feature. Present a Master Card at the keypad
reader and then enter 0-0-0-0 to turn off the timer. If you do not turn of the timer the lock will automatically unlock
after 24-hours. If you want to use the timer for deterring Users taking ownership of the lockers present a Master card
at the keypad reader and then enter 4-digits that numerically represent minutes between 0001 for 1 minute and 1440
minutes for 24-hours. e.g, 0060 would be 1 hour, 0120 would be 2 hours 0480 would be 8 hours.
If you insert a probe into the reset hole and hold down the button you will revert the lock back to Private User
Mode and any master or user cards that were previously enrolled will be deleted .is chaering noise should NOT
be experienced for normal use unless the latch is obstructed or, is binding against the striker plate or, the locker
door has pressure against it from bulky items stored inside the locker prevenng the latch from retracng.

The KM-3071-PP features a low voltage alarm that will acvate when the locks baeries fall below 4V.
If the locks emits 3 beeps and 3 quick ashes of the green LED aer use, then the baeries need to be changed
immediately. If the lock is stuck in the locked posion and the baeries are at, insert the emergency power pack into
the small input located on the right hand side of the keypad reader. Unlock using either the user or master card/Pin

TROUBLE SHOOTING CLICKING OR A RATCHET NOISE COMING FROM THE
KM3071PPAO DIGITAL TOUCHSCREEN RFID LOCKER LOCK
A clicking or ratcheng noise coming from the lock is generally caused by the latchbolt being out of sync
with the gear wheels in the back box. This mainly happens when the latch bolt tries to extract but
becomes obstructed. Obstrucons are mainly caused by,
(a) The door not being completely closed and the latch not properly aligned with the striker plate or,
(b) Bulky items in the locker prevenng the door from closing and or items pung pressure against the
door from the inside and prevenng the latch from operang freely.
(c) It can also happen due to the spring loaded plunger on the striker plate prevenng the door from
closing completely and the latch hing the locker carcass or the striker plate, which commonly
happens with locks being used in locker mode and when the user enters their code whilst the door
is sll ajar.
Best pracce for assigned locker users, is to wait for the latch to automacally extract (around 3-4 sec-
onds aer being opened) and then push the door rmly closed so the latch goes into the striker plate.
Best pracce for share locker users, is to place their belongings into the locker, enter their temporary
code with the door open to extract the latch and then push the door rmly to closed so that the latch
goes into the striker plate.
When the KM3071PPAO lock is out of sync and the door is open you should perform a manual reset by
pung a probe or paper clip into the single reset hole on the back box, and holding it in for 1 beep. This
resets the lock back to factory default sengs and will resync the latch. When the lock is reset, the
Master Pin and User Pin will both go back to the default seng of Master 4321 +OK and User 1234 + OK.
If the locks are being used in share locker mode and you perform the manual reset as per above, the lock
will also default back to the assigned Private User Mode and you will need to be reset it to the Share User
Mode. Please refer to instrucons Page 2 to set the lock to Public Share User Mode.
When the KM3071PPAO lock is out of sync and the door is locked and does not respond to the Master
Fobs or the Master Pin you can perform a reset from the keypad as follows:
Using the USB -C external power cable (supplied with the emergency power bank) insert the cable
without the power bank connected, into the C-port on the le side of the keypad. You will need a paper-
clip bent into a ‘U’ shape so that both ends are exactly the same length. Insert the paperclip into the USB
end of the cable and short out the two metal contacts in the plug unl you get a beep and green LED.
Then enter the default Master Pin 4321+OK or the default User Pin to open the lock. If the lock is not
responding to the above (no beep or LED) the problem may be due to low baeries. Aach the USB-C
cable to the Emergency Power Bank insert it into the keypad and enter the known Master Pin or Default
Master Pin 4321+OK.
Please Note:
When ever you do a reset on the KM3071PPAO from the latchbox or keypad using the USB-C cable, the
lock will default to factory sengs as explained in above. It also deletes the original User PIN and the 3
RFID Fobs. Please refer to the cheat sheets in aached. If the lock connues to be problemac then
return the lock to KSQ and we’ll send a replacement. If the returned lock is not assessed as being faulty
