lColdWeather Starting
When the ambient temperature is below -5't: (23'F) and
the engine is very cold It the engine tarts to start after 10
seconds. turn oif the key for 30 seconds Then repeat
steps Aand 9, To protect the battery and the starter, make
sure that the starter is not oonlmuously turned for more
than 30 seconds.
lBIock Heater (Option)
Ablock heater ISavarlable as an optlon from your dealer.
It wrll assist you "1 starting your tractor when the ambient
temperature ts below -15'C (5'F)
10. Check to see that all the lamps on the
Easy Checker(TM) are "OFF".
It the lamp is sttll ‘ON', |mmed|ately stop the engine and
determine the cause.
STOPPING THE ENGINE
1. Afterslowingthe engine to Idle.turn the
key to "OFF".
2. Remove the key.
NOTE:
0It key does not stop the engine. consult your tout
KUBOTA Dealer.

5. Raise the Implement.
(see "HYDRAULIC UNIT" section.)
Move the hydraulic oonirol lever rearward
5. Select the Travel Speed.
IRangeGear Shift Lever (HI-Lo)
The range gear shift can only be shifted when trader is
completely stopped
A CAUTION
To avoid personal injury:
0Make sure the range shift lever tofully engaged
Into "H" or "L' position before climbing or
descending aslope.
IMPORTANT:
Do not force the range gear shift lever,
eIf it is difficult to shift the range shift lever lnlo
‘NEUTRAL' position.
(1) Depress the brake pedal firmly for several
seconds
(2) Without reducing the brake pedal force. shift the
range shift lever.
eIf it is difficult to shift the range shift lever into 'L'or'H'
from "NEUTRAL" position.
(1) Slightly depress the speed control pedal to rotate
the gears Insrde of transmission.
(2) Release the speed control pedal to 'NEUTRAL'
positron
(3) Shift the range shift lever.
cTo avoid damage of transmission. slop tractor before
shining between ranges
lFrontWheel Drive Lever
ACAUTION
To avoid personal Injury:
5Do not engage the front wheel drive when
traveling at road speed.
0When driving on Icy. wet or loose surfaces,
make sure the tractor Is correctly ballasted to
avoid skidding and loss of steering control.
Operate at reduced speed and engage front
wheel drive.
eAri accident may occur if the tractor I:
suddenly braked, such as by heavy towed
loads shifting fonvard or loss of control.
0The braking characteristics are different
between two and four wheel drive. Be aware of
the difference and use carefully.
Use the lever to engage the front wheels with the tractor
stopped Shift the lever to 'ON'to engage the front wheel
drive,

IMPORTANT:
0To avoid damage of transmission, when front wheel
drive lever is not smoothly shifted, slightly step forward
or rearward on speed control pedal
0Tires Will weer quickly if front wheel drive is engaged
on paved roads,
0Front wheel drive I: effective for the following
jobs:
1, When greater pulling force is needed. such as working
in awet field. when pulling atrailer, or when working
With afront-end loader
2. When working in sandy soil
3. When working on ahard soil where arotary tiller might
push the tractor forward.
4. Additional braking at reduced speed
7. Accelerate the Engine.

To release the parking brake. depress the brake pedal
again.
9. Depress the Speed Control Pedal.

A WARNING
To avoid personal injury:
0Do notoperate If tractor moves on level ground
with foot off Speed Control Pedal.
Forward Pedal
Depress the forward pedal With the toe of your right foot to
move forward
Reverse Pedal@
Depress the reverse pedal with the heel of your right foot
to move backward.
