1. Safety
Danger!
Repairs may only be carried out by a qualified electrician!
Improper repairs can be extremely dangerous for the user.
It is essential that you observe the following instructions in order to prevent electric shocks:
• The casing and the frame may be live in the event of faults!
• Touching live components inside the appliance may cause dangerous currents to flow through your
body!
• Disconnect the appliance from the mains prior to carrying out any repair work!
• When inspecting live parts, a residual current circuit breaker must always be used!
• The earthed conductor resistance must not exceed the resistance specified in the standard! It is vital
for ensuring the safety of persons and the functioning of the appliance.
• On completion of repairs, an inspection must be carried out in accordance with VDE 0701
[Association of German Electrical Engineers] or in accordance with the corresponding regulations for
your country!
Make sure you observe the following instructions:
• The appliances must be disconnected from the mains prior to all repairs. If inspections must be
carried out on live appliances, make sure you use a residual current operated device.
Attention!
Sharp edges: Use protective gloves.
Components may be electrostatic!

2. General Information
Changing the specification or attempts to modify the product are dangerous. For your own safety spare
parts should be installed by an authorised, qualified specialist. The manufacturer accepts no liability for
damage which occurs as a result of improper installation or failure to observe currently-valid regulations
for this type of application. Please read through the installation instructions carefully prior to commencing
with work.
The cooker hood requires a sufficient flow of inlet air in order to function optimally and ensure maximum
ventilation. If the supply of inlet air is insufficient the speed of the ventilation fan will rise, the flow rate will
drop and more noise will occur.
The air flow of the cooker hood will drop when the filter mats have become saturated and vapours will
not be sufficiently removed.
The cooker hood has been designed to extract vapours generated during the cooking procedure. The
hood is supplied for extraction air operation. If it is not possible to extract the air to the outside, special
accessories are available to convert the hood to recirculating air operation with charcoal filters.
With the help of cooker hoods steam and odours
that arise during the cooking procedure are
extracted out of the kitchen through a special
discharge device. Fresh air is drawn into the
kitchen through an air opening to the outside to
replace the extracted air.
This effect is generated in the suction module in the
hood which extracts the air under the hood and
leads it to the outside through the air hole. The
hood is also fitted with a control panel for the
extraction modes and a functional lighting system
for the hob. If the hood is installed professionally,
regularly maintained and the safety regulations are
closely observed, it will provide long years of
reliable service.

3. Installation
3.1 General installation instructions
Dimensioned drawing
On installing the cooker hood, the following points are to be observed in addition to currently-valid safety
instructions and the respective instructions of your country:
1. The cooker hood must always be installed above the centre of the hob.
2. The clearance may not be smaller than that stipulated for instalment.
The minimum clearance between a hob and the lower edge of the hood is 250 mm.
3. Exhaust air may not be discharged into a smoke or exhaust gas chimney which is in operation;
nor may it be discharged into a shaft used for ventilating rooms where hearths or fireplaces have
been installed. Should exhaust air be discharged into smoke chimneys or exhaust gas chimneys
which are not in operation, prior approval must be granted by the master chimney sweep
responsible.
4. In the case of extraction air operation of the cooker hood and the simultaneous operation of
heating systems requiring a chimney (such as gas, oil or coal heaters, flow heaters or hot water
boilers), a sufficient supply of inlet air, required by the heating system for combustion purposes,
must be ensured. Negative pressure in the location of a fireplace may not exceed 4Pa
(0.04mbar). This is achieved if it is possible for more air to flow in. The entire ventilation system of
a house or apartment must always be taken into consideration when assessing this.
In the case of the recirculating air mode of the cooker hood, operation can be carried out
without any restrictions.
5. The cooker hood may only be installed above a fireplace for solid fuels where there may be a risk
of fire (e.g. flying sparks) if the fireplace has a fully-enclosed permanent cover.

3.2 Installation
3.2.1 Mounting holes and clamps
1. Draw a vertical line up to the ceiling or to the top demarcation in the middle of the area onto which
the hood is to be mounted.
2. Draw a horizontal line at least 960mm above the hob.
3. Mark a dot (1) on the horizontal line 200mm to the right of the vertical gauge line.
4. Repeat this procedure on the opposite side and check the alignment.
5. Mark another reference dot (2) as described 180mm from the vertical reference line and 362mm
from the hob.
6. Repeat this procedure on the opposite side and check the alignment.
7. Drill the dots (1) marked with a Ø 12mm drill.
8. Drill the dots (2) marked with a Ø 8 mm drill.
9. Insert the dowels and the clamps (11a) and screw them tight.
10. Insert the dowels (11) into the hole (2) and screw tight.

3.2.2 Mounting the hood unit
1. Open the filter panels.
2. Remove the grease filters with the
respective handles.
3. Hook the panel out of the hood unit by
moving the lever of the fastening pin.
4. Adjust the two screws (Vr) of the clamps
(11a) so that they are only screwed in
until the thread commences (B).
5. Hook the hood unit into the two clamps
(11a).
6. Align the hood unit with the Vr screws
from the inside of the hood.
7. Tighten the safety screws (11).
3.2.3 Connections
Connection of the extraction air model
The optional “outgoing air chimney” kit, spare part no. 877 must be bought for installing the exhaust air
models.
Connection of the recirculating air model
Charcoal filters, spare part no. 603, are required
for installing the recirculating air models. A cover,
spare part no. 527678 (item 16), and a grid, spare
part no. 536452 (item 8), should be installed for
better air circulation.
1. Fasten the filter cover at the air exit with the
four screws (12c) (2.9 x 9.5).
2. Fasten the air conduction grid (8) with two of
the screws supplied (12d) (2.9 x 9.5) at the
exit of the recycling air.
3. Activating the saturation display
For hoods with a recirculating air mode the
saturation display is activated on installation
or later. Switch off the lighting and the fan
motor. Disconnect the hood from the power supply at the intermediate two-pole switch or at the
main switch. Re-establish connection by pressing and holding the T1 button. Let go of the button;
all five LEDs light up consistently.
Within three seconds press the T1 button until the T1 and T4 LEDs begin to blink as
acknowledgement:
2 blinks of the LEDs – saturation display of the charcoal odour filters is ACTIVATED;
1 blink of the LEDs – saturation display of the charcoal odour filters is DEACTIVATED.
Press the T1 button until the T1 and T4 LEDs begin to blink as acknowledgement. Two blinks of
the saturation display LED indicates that the charcoal odour filters are ACTIVATED.

Electric supply
When connecting the hood to the power supply a
two-pole switch with an opening of at least 3mm
must be inserted in series.
1. Remove the grease filters.
2. Make sure that the cable connection is
inserted in the plug of the fan.
4. Functional description
The cooker hood has the following features:

4.1 Controls

the button for 5 sec. again to switch off.

Press the button for approx. 2 sec. to activate the
delay stop function. Can be used for fully
removing residual odours. Can be activated for
any speed setting; deactivation by means of
briefly pressing the button.

High-power setting
Suitable when a great deal of cooking steam
develops. Press the button for approx. 2 sec. to
activate. After 10 minutes the fan will
automatically switch back to the previous setting.
Pressing another button once will interrupt the
power setting function.
S1 LED lights up all the
time
flashing
An LED which lights up all the time is an
indication that the metal grease filter is saturated
and that cleaning is necessary. This alarm is
activated after 100 effective hood operating
hours.
A flashing light indicates that the charcoal odour
filter is saturated and needs to be replaced. The
metal filters should also be cleaned. The
saturation display of the charcoal odour filter is
activated after 200 effective hood operating
hours.

4.2 Activating the saturation display
For hoods with a recirculating air mode the saturation display is activated on installation or later.
1. Switch off the lighting and the fan motor.
2. Disconnect the hood from the power supply at the intermediate two-pole switch or at the main
switch.
3. Re-establish connection by pressing and holding the T1 button.
4. Let go of the button; all five LEDs light up consistently.
5. Within three seconds press the T1 button until the T1 and T4 LEDs begin to blink as
acknowledgement:
2 blinks of the LEDs – saturation display of the charcoal odour filters is ACTIVATED;
1 blink of the LEDs – saturation display of the charcoal odour filters is DEACTIVATED.
4.3 Resetting the saturation display
1. Switch off the lighting and the fan motor.
2. Press button T3 for at least 3 seconds until the LEDs begin to blink in acknowledgement.

5. Accessing the components
5.1 The individual units
1. Chimneys
For uncovering the exhaust air duct with which steam is lead from the motor to the outside. They
are telescopic chimneys and can hence be extended to a stipulated length, see dimensioned
drawing.
2. Lighting unit
For lighting up the hob with targeted halogen lamps. Operated from the control panel of the hood.
3. Control panel unit
For switching the lighting and the motor of the hood on and off, for regulating the extraction rate
and for selecting electronically-supported functions.
4. Extraction area
Comprises four plates with a sound-absorbing covering.
5. Outlet
This opening can be used for the recirculating air mode and for the extraction air mode (chimneys
are not supplied as a standard.

5.2 Procedure for repairs
We recommend that you follow this procedure:
1. Inspection of the product and assessment of its installation.
2. Determine the problem and replace faulty parts if necessary.
3. Carry out a function test to assess that the corrective action was carried out properly.
First steps
• Disconnect the hood from the power supply.
• Pull out the power plug.
• Switch off the mains switch.
Remove the extraction panels
• to access the internal components.
Remove the metal filters
• to access the operating elements.
Remove the odour filters
• if the hood has been installed in the recirculating air mode.
Check
Before you carry out any repair work make sure that the "Check" steps to determine minor errors or faults
have been carried out.
Noises or unusual vibrations
• Check to ensure that the installation screws are tightly fastened.
• Check to ensure that the extraction panel of the edge suction device is properly closed.
The hood does not switch on
• Check to ensure that the plug is inserted firmly into the socket.
• Check to ensure that the power supply has not been cut off.
• Check the position of the motor controls.
Weak suction power
• Clean the metal filters or replace the charcoal filters in recirculating air hoods.
• Check to ensure that the air hole is not blocked and that it is the right size.

5.3 Changing the halogen lamps
If the lighting does not work the lamps will firstly need to be checked and you will need to make sure that
the control switch on the control panel of the hood has not developed a fault.
Proceed as follows to replace a lamp or lamp mounting:
1. Use an Allen key to loosen the four fastening
screws in order to remove the cover of the lighting
unit.
2. Loosen the two screws that fasten the lamp
mounting to the lighting unit.
3. Remove the mounting and replace the faulty part.
4. Re-assembling is carried out in reverse order.
5. Check the functions.

5.4 Replacing the transformer
Proceed as follows to replace the transformer:
1. Open the hood and remove the right-hand panel of
the edge suction device by means of operating the
respective lever.
2. Remove the right-hand self-supporting metal
grease filter.
3. Loosen the screw which fastens the transformer
support to the hood casing and remove the
transformer.
4. Disconnect the transformer connections and remove
them; replace with a new transformer with the same
properties.
5. Re-assembling is carried out in reverse order.
6. Check the functions.

5.5 Replacing the touch controls
Should you determine that the control panel circuit board is not functioning, replace it as follows:
1. Open the hood and remove the right-hand panel of
the edge suction device by means of operating the
respective lever.
2. Loosen the screws that fasten the cover of the
control panel to the inner support and remove the
cover.
3. Remove the two screws that fasten the bracket to
the casing and remove the bracket (the control panel
is attached to the bracket).
4. Loosen the screws for releasing the control panel
unit. Open the control panel unit and remove the flat
wire.

5. Replace the control circuit board with a new one with
the same properties.
6. Re-assembling is carried out in reverse order.
7. Check the functions.
Instructions for professionals
Removing and then re-inserting the control module may be difficult. Please proceed as follows
as far as this is possible:
When the two screws which fasten the clamp (which supports the control unit) to the hood casing have
been removed, you will need to lower the clamp itself into the inside of the hood (a screwdriver might be
useful here – it can be used as a "lever" to hold the module down far enough) and at the same time press
the individual buttons on the left side of the control panel, in order to release the unit.
Once the circuit board has been replaced, re-install the unit as follows:
Fasten the control unit once again onto the bracket with the two screws, in a diagonal position towards
one another, but do not screw them too tightly (this will make it easier to fasten the clamp to the casing
when the module had been installed).
Put the unit into the opening provided:
In the inside of the casing you will find a support on which the control unit lies in the casing. When re-
installing, position the clamp and the control unit between this support and the inner wall of the casing
(make sure that you do not scratch the lettering on the buttons).
Then fasten everything with the two screws previously removed and replace the cover of the control
panel and the extraction plate for edge suctioning.

5.6 Replacing the electronics unit
If the hood switches on without the start buttons having been operated (lighting or motor) or should it not
react to the controls on the control panel the main board or the line filter board will have to be checked.
Proceed as follows to replace the main board:
1. Open the hood and remove the right-hand panel of
the edge suction device by means of operating the
respective lever.
2. Remove the right-hand self-supporting metal
grease filter.
3. Loosen the four screws of the circuit board cover
and remove the circuit board.
4. Replace the circuit board with a new one with the
same properties on observation of the appliance
circuit diagram.
5. Re-assembling is carried out in reverse order.
6. Check the functions.

5.7 Replacing the line filter circuit board
Proceed as follows to replace the line filter board = interference filter:
1. Open the hood and remove the right-hand panel of the edge suction device by means of operating
the respective lever.
2. Remove the left-hand grease filter.
3. Loosen the wing screw and remove the casing with
the line filter circuit board.
4. Loosen the three cover screws and open the cover.
5. Replace the circuit board with a new one with the
same properties.
6. Re-assembling is carried out in reverse order.
7. Check the functions.

5.8 Replacing the motor
Proceed as follows to replace the motor unit:
1. Remove the four panels for the edge suctioning.
2. Remove the two self-supporting metal filters.
3. Loosen the four screws with which the main holder is
fastened to the casing and remove the holder.
4. Remove the front filter support sheet by screwing out
the six screws that fasten the casing.
5. Remove the side connections of the motor.
6. Remove the motor unit to be replaced once you have
loosened the two screws which fasten it to the
casing.
7. Instal the new motor unit.
8. Re-assembling is carried out in reverse order.
9. Check the functions.
