L-Acoustics 5xt Ceiling Mount Instructions
Step 1
Lay the 5xt on its back and remove the grill using a T-15 Torx bit and driver. Retain the screws for use
with the ceiling mount.
Note: Do not remove the spacers that are under the grill. The grill screws also hold the driver into the box.
Step 2
Place the ceiling mount on the 5xt with the dog ear assemblies facing down. Carefully align the holes
with the 5xt driver mounting holes. Using the grill screws, attach the mounting plate to the speaker.

Step 3
Using a T-30 Torx bit and driver, remove one of the side mounting screws and attach the safety cable.
Step 4
Cut a 9 1/2” hole in the ceiling or ceiling tile. Place the speaker
assembly in the hole. Using a screw driver or power driver,
turn the mounting screws located on the bottom of the
mounting plate. This will cause the dog ears to turn and clamp
the assembly into the ceiling.
Note: Be careful not to over tighten the clamps when using a
power driver.
If ceiling tile reinforcement is needed you may use an Atlas
FA81-8 Tile Bridge
Step 6
Attach the safety cable to a structural point and connect the audio cable to the speaker input.
Step 6
Place the grill on the speaker being careful to align the grill studs up with the friction insert holes in the
mounting plate. Gently tap the grill onto the mount until it is flush with the ceiling. Sit back and enjoy
an amazing sounding speaker.
Note: The grill is removable, but it will require a fair amount of effort. Gently pry the outside edges
until the grill is free.
