General Information
Before using the modem it is important to read the information
provided in this Guide to avoid seriously harming yourself or
damaging the modem.
Note: for further information, contact your Distributor or send a
support request to the address support@labelgroup.com.
Important safety standards
• Carefully read all the documentation attached to the
modem.
• Comply with all the instructions and precautions contained
in this Guide.
• Only qualified personnel are authorised to assemble and
commission this equipment.
• Do not expose the modem into contact with aggressive
chemicals or solvents that can affect plastic materials or
corrode metal parts.

Disconnect the connection cable in the following situations:
• If the connection cable or connectors are worn or
damaged.
• If there is any liquid inside the modem, including
condensation.
• If the modem case is damaged or broken.
• If the vehicle battery needs to be recharged.
This symbol indicates that, based on local laws and
standards, the product must be disposed of separately from
household waste. When the product can no longer be used, it
must be brought to the collection spot established by local
authorities. Check local standards for further information
regarding waste of electronic products.

Mechanical installation
The modem must be installed on a flat, stable and vibration-free
surface.
It is recommended to follow the following guidelines:
• Do not install or place the modem near heat sources or
strong magnetic fields (motors, magnets, etc.).
• Install the modem at least 1m from an electronic device
(Personal Computer, Cell Phone etc.), in order not to
reduce the effective range.

Positioning of the connection cables
To ensure the best operation of the modem it is necessary that
the connection cables are correctly connected and positioned.
Improper positioning of the cables can significantly reduce the
performance of the modem.
It is recommended to follow the following guidelines:
• Fasten the cables securely to the modem.
• Keep the cables away from the antenna.
• Do not roll up or tangle the cables.
• Do not use cables longer than 5m.

Positioning the antenna
The modem is equipped with a SMA female antenna
connector suitable for connecting different types of
antennas.
Normally, a high performance antenna is provided
with the modem, which may be easily installed on a wall by using
the supplied bracket. The antenna is omnidirectional and, to
assure optimal reception, must be installed facing the sky on a
flat, clean, vibration-free surface as high as possible from the
ground.

Connections
How to connect the modem to i•FeedGood L
The modem is connected to the i•FeedGood L scale through a
cable with two straight M12 connectors, M/F 8 pole. The female
connector must be inserted into the J1 connector of the modem,
while the male connector must be inserted into the COM A
connector of the scale.

Installing the SIM card
The modem requires, in order to function, a SIM card enabled for
data traffic provided by a mobile phone provider. Additionally, the
SIM card must have the PIN disabled.
To install the SIM card, proceed as follows:
1. Open the case.
2. Find the slot where to enter the SIM card on the side of
the modem. The side of the modem is highlighted with
the SIM writing.
3. Make the SIM card slide in the slot with the contacts side
facing down and the cut facing the inside of the modem
as shown in the figure below.
4. Enter the SIM card until it locks.
5. Re-close the case.
How to remove the SIM card
To remove the SIM card, push it.
The modem automatically ejects the SIM card from the slot.

The modem complies with the essential requirements of RED
2014/53/UE Directive and Part 15 of the FCC Class B Rules.
As a quality assurance, the modem has also been tested in
accordance with the SAE J1455 Environmental Standards and
MIL-STD-810 Military Standards.
If the modem is not installed and used in strict compliance with
the instructions provided in this Guide, it could be faulty or cause
the surrounding equipment to malfunction. In any case there is no
guarantee of these failures not occurring in a specific installation.
Should any malfunctioning occur, contact the Customer Service
which can suggest measures to be taken to eliminate the
problems.
Compliance with Directives is only guaranteed when original
accessories and spare parts are used. Any modifications or
interventions to the modem not authorised by the manufacturer in
writing could cancel its conformity to Directives and make it
prohibited for use.

Description
Using a LABCH500IP modem connected to the i•FeedGood L
scale, it is possible, in wireless mode, to send the Daily Records
to the FarmManagerWeb or to import the Recipes created with
FarmManagerWeb into the scale. For further information consult
the “Data Transfer” chapter of the “i•FeedGood L Technical
Manual” and of the FarmManagerWeb Guide.
Note: to allow the modems correct operation, it is necessary to
set the “COM A Port”, “Send Daily Records Automatically”,
“Wireless Device for Data Transfer”, “Wireless Device
Parameters” in i•FeedGood L and the “Scales" setting in the
FarmManagerWeb in the following way:

COM A Port: Modem.

Modem Type for Data Transfer: LABCH500 modem.

Modem Parameters:

APN: sets the APN mobile operator of the SIM card.

User: sets the name displayed in FarmManagerWeb in the
FMW Cloud User field (Settings> Farms).

Password: sets the Password displayed in
FarmManagerWeb in the FMW Cloud Password field
(Settings> Farms).
!
FMW Cloud: sets “N.EUROPE” if you have activated
FarmManagerWeb.net, sets “E.ASIA” if you have activated
FarmManagerWeb.cn.
!
Send Daily Records Automatically: sets Automatic (if you want
to automatically send the Daily Records at the end of Recipes
Execution), sets No (if you want to manually send the Daily
Records).

To Settings> Scales enables the "Wireless Device" option.
Note: the modem requires, in order to function, a SIM card
enabled for data traffic and with PIN disabled.
