Please read these instructions. The
manufacturer is not responsible if an incorrect
installation and use causes injuries and/or
damage. Always keep the instructions with the
appliance for future reference.
IMPORTANT
DO NOT connect the appliance to the
electricity supply until all packing and transit
protectors have been removed.
Please read these instructions carefully to
ensure safe and trouble-free operation.
Check that the appliance is undamaged
upon receipt. NEVER install a damaged
appliance.
WARNING
•Leave to stand for at least 4 hours before
switching on to allow compressor oil to settle,
especially if transported horizontally.
• If you are discarding an old refrigerator
please ensure any door lock or latch is
disabled so as to not trap children
• Do not dispose of the appliance on a re.
The appliance contains substances in
the insulation (Cyclopentane) and in the
cooling system (R600a gas) which are highly
ammable. Therefore be careful not to
damage the appliance or cooling system.
If damaged avoid sources of ignition and
ventilate the room immediately.
• Contact your Local Council for disposal of an
old appliance.
• We do not recommend the use of
this appliance in unheated rooms or
outbuildings.
• This refrigerator must only be used for
it’s intended purpose of storing edible
foodstuffs.
• Ensure that the plug remains accessible
after installation. DO NOT USE multi-socket
adapters and leads.
• Failure to observe the installation and safety
instructions may invalidate your Guarantee
and cause harm to the person or property.
Children and general safety
•This appliance can be used by children
aged from 8 years and above and
persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities or lack of experience
and knowledge if they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning the
use of the appliance in a safe way and
understand the hazards involved.
• Children aged from 3 to 8 years are allowed
to load and unload the appliance provided
that they have been properly instructed.
• This appliance may be used by persons
with very extensive and complex disabilities
provided that they have been properly
instructed.
• Children of less than 3 years of age should
be kept away from the appliance unless
continuously supervised.
• Do not let children play with the appliance.
• Children shall not carry out cleaning and
user maintenance of the appliance without
supervision.
• Keep all packaging away from children and
dispose of it appropriately.
• This appliance is intended to be used in
household and similar applications such as:

Food safety
•To avoid contamination of food respect the
following instructions:
– Do not open the door for long periods of
time.
– Regularly clean all surfaces that come
into contact with food and the easily
accessible drainage channels.

– Keep raw and cooked food well apart
and do not let raw foods drip onto cooked
and other foodstuffs.
– Never place hot food into the refrigerator.
Allow to cool to room temperature rst.
– Allow frozen food to defrost inside the
refrigerator.
– Good food stock rotation reduces waste.
Place new products behind older versions.
• The medium temperature setting ensures
good preservation of fresh food. Higher
temperature inside the appliance may lead
to shorter shelf life of food and wastage.
• Cover the food with packaging to preserve
its freshness and aroma.
• Always use closed containers for liquids and
food to avoid odours lling in the whole
compartment.
• To avoid cross-contamination between
cooked and raw foods, always wrap or
cover items.
• A higher temperature setting may lead to
shorter storage life of foodstuffs and possible
increase in harmful bacteria.
• Store foodstuffs in the appropriate parts of
the refrigerator to maximise freshness and
longevity of food.
Energy efciency
• Most efcient use of energy is ensured in the
default conguration with the shelves evenly
distributed. Position of the door racks does
not affect energy consumption.
• Do not open the door too frequently or leave
open longer than necessary.
• If the ambient temperature is high and the
temperature control is set to too low with the
refrigerator fully loaded, the compressor may
run continuously, causing extra ice formation
on the evaporator. Set the temperature
control slightly warmer to allow automatic
defrosting and to save energy.

•Keep ventilation openings, in the
appliance enclosure or in the built-in
structure, clear of obstruction.

•Do not use mechanical devices or other
means to accelerate the defrosting
process, other than those recommended
by the manufacturer.

•Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.

•Do not use electrical appliances inside
the food storage compartments of the
appliance.
Waste Electrical and Electronic
Equipment (WEEE)
This product bears classication symbol for
waste electrical and electronic equipment
(WEEE). This product has been manufactured
with high quality parts and materials
which can be reused and are
suitable for recycling. Do not dispose
of the waste product with normal
domestic and other wastes at the
end of its service life. Take it to the collection
centre for the recycling of electrical and
electronic equipment. Please consult your
local authorities to learn about these collection
centres.

Electrical connection
•The appliance is supplied with a power
cable and moulded plug ready for
connection to a 230v AC 50 Hz supply.
•The fuse rating should be 13 A.
•This appliance must be earthed.
•This appliance must be connected to a
suitable switched socket which is always
easily accessible.
•The electrical connection must comply with
current local and national safety regulations
(BS 7671 in the UK).
•The plug and mains cable must not come
into contact with the back of the appliance.
Vibrations can damage them; which could
result in a short circuit.
•Do not connect the appliance to the mains
electricity by an extension lead or multi-
adapter.
•The appliance must not be used with
energy-saving plug devices. The appliance
will not function correctly and may overheat.
•If the mains cable or plug needs to be
replaced this must be done by a suitably
qualied person.
•Check that the appliance is working
correctly.
Cleaning and care
•Do not use any oils or grease on the
door seals, as this will cause the seals to
deteriorate and become porous.
•Do not use steam cleaning equipment to
clean or defrost the appliance. Steam could
reach electrical components and cause a
short circuit.
•Do not place electric heaters or candles
in the appliance to defrost it. These will
damage the plastic parts of the appliance.
•Do not use defrosting sprays or de-icers, as
they could contain substances which could
damage the plastic parts or might cause
a build-up of gases and pose a danger to
health.
Transport instructions
•The appliance should be transported only in
a vertical upright position.
• If during the course of transport the
appliance has to be transported horizontally,
it must only be laid on its left hand side
(when standing in front of the appliance).
After bringing it to upright position, it must not
be operated for at least 4 hours to allow the
cooling system to settle.
• Failure to comply with the above instructions
could result in damage occurring to the
appliance. The manufacturer will not be
held responsible if these instructions are
disregarded.
• The appliance must be protected against
rain, moisture and other atmospheric
inuences.
• Empty any water in the drain tray before
moving see section ‘Defrosting’ and
‘Cleaning and Care’ for further information.

• Care should be taken with the grilles and
pipework at the rear of the appliance to
avoid damage to the product and person.
• This appliance is not designed for stacking
with another appliance.
• Do not trap and damage mains cable under
appliance,
• Do not allow children to play with the
appliance or controls.
• Do not sit or stand on appliance.
• Do not operate this appliance unless installed
into furniture.

Before operating the appliance
•Remove all packaging material from the
inside of the appliance.
•Clean the interior and the accessories as
recommended, see ‘Cleaning and Care’.
•You may hear various noises coming
from the cooling system and when the
compressor starts. This is normal.
1 - Upon installation (See supplied separate Installation Instructions)
2 - Using the fridge
•Set the temperature control to the desired
temperature.
•On certain models the front edges of the
appliance may feel warm, this is quite
normal. (Designed to avoid condensation)
•Do not load the appliance immediately
after switching on. Wait 4 hours until the
correct storage temperature is reached.
We recommend that you check the
temperature with an accurate thermometer.
•Check the appliance is working correctly.
Temperature control
•Operating temperature is controlled by the
thermostat dial 0-5.
Setting 5is the coldest position.
•The average fridge temperature is
recommended to be no higher than +4°C,
Initially set the dial to 3and check the
temperature after 24hrs.
•Some sections of the fridge are warmer (e.g.
the salad crisper and the upper area), this is
normal.
•During summer the dial may need to be
turned colder.
•Frequent door opening causes loss of
cooling, so close the door as soon as
possible.
•If excess ice develops turn dial to a warmer
setting until ice defrosts and then return to
normal setting.
Important note: Ice formation on the rear wall
and its subsequent melting is normal.

Door shelf removal
Only remove the door/bottle shelves when
they are empty.
•Gently push the door shelf upwards at the
outer edges, 1and remove, 2.
•Replace in the reverse order. Ensure that it is
securely xed.
Do not let large / heavy bottles / items drop
into the shelves.
Shelf removal/adjustment
The shelves can be adjusted according to
food storage requirements.
Only remove/adjust the shelves when they are
empty.
•Lift the shelf, 1and pull forward, 2.
•Insert shelf at the desired height.
The raised edge on the protective strip at
the back must face upwards to prevent food
touching the back of the fridge and freezing
to it.
Do not let foodstuffs contact the rear wall.
Ice will form across and lead to water
deposits on shelves and in the fridge.
Salad crisper lid removal
Lift the salad crisper lid vertically away, 1.

•Defrost twice a year or when a frost layer
of around 7mm (1/4”) has formed. To
start defrosting procedure switch off the
appliance at the socket outlet and pull out
the mains plug.
•Any frozen food should be wrapped in
several layers of newspaper and stored in
a cool place (e.g. fridge or larder).
•Containers full of warm water may be
placed carefully in the freezer box to
speed up the defrosting process. Use
towels to collect the defrost water.
•Do not use pointed or sharp edged objects
such as knives, forks to remove the frost.
•Never use hairdryers, electrical heaters
and other similar electrical appliances for
defrosting.
•When defrosting has nished, sponge out
any defrosted water which collects at
the bottom of the freezer box and dry the
interior thoroughly.
Defrosting fridge compartment
The fridge compartment defrosts
automatically.
The defrost water runs to the collection
channel at the back of the fridge, see image.
During defrosting water droplets form at the
back of the fridge where the concealed
evaporator is located. Some droplets may
remain on the liner and refreeze when
defrosting is completed. Do not use pointed or
sharp edged objects such as knives, forks etc.
to remove the droplets which have frozen.
If at any time the defrosted water does not
drain from the collection channel, check to
see if the drain channel has an obstruction.
The drain tube can be cleared by pushing the
special plastic plunger, provided, down the
drain tube, see image. If there is an ice build
up, select a warmer temperature setting for a
few hours until the ice melts.

•Insert the plug in to the wall socket and
switch on the electricity supply.
•Load food into the freezer after 2-4 hrs in
order to ensure the freezer temperature is
sufciently cold.

Cold zones;
•Due to natural air circulation there
are different temperature zones in the
refrigerator.
•Cold, heavy air falls to the lower sections of
the appliance.
•The coldest area in the appliance is
directly above the fruit and vegetable
drawer and at the back of the appliance.
(Food must not touch the back of the
fridge section as it may freeze to the back
wall)
•The warmest area is at the top, in the
frontal area and in the upper door section.
Use these areas for storing butter, cheese
etc.
Freezer box;
•The freezer box is rated and suitable
for the freezing of fresh food and storage
of pre-frozen food. The frozen food
storage information on packaging should
be observed at all times.
Making ice cubes;
•Fill the ice-cube tray 3/4 full with water and
place it in the freezer box. Loosen frozen
trays with a spoon handle or a similar blunt
object. Never use sharp objects such as
knives, forks etc.

We recommend that you switch off the
appliance at the mains socket and remove
the plug from the mains socket before any
cleaning or maintenance.
Do not let any water penetrate any part of
the appliance electrics or lighting.
Cleaning water must not drain into the
defrost drain hole.
If the appliance is not going to be used for
a long period of time switch it off, remove all
food, clean and leave the door ajar.
The data plate located inside the appliance
must not be removed. It contains information
which is required if you need to call a service
engineer.
Cleaning agents
Bicarbonate of soda may be added to the
water to help remove any persistent odours.
All cleaning agents used inside the appliance
must be food safe.
To avoid damage to surfaces of the appliance,
do not use the following:
– Cleaning agents containing ammonia,
acids or chlorides.
– Cleaning agents containing de-scaling
agents.
– Abrasive cleaning agents, eg. powder or
cream cleaners.
– Solvent based cleaning agents.
– Dishwasher cleaning agents.
– Oven sprays.
– Glass cleaning sprays.
– Hard, abrasive sponges and brushes, eg.
scourers.
– Sharp metal scrapers.

Prepare the fridge for cleaning
Switch off the appliance at the mains
socket and remove the plug.
(If the interior light is still on when you open the
fridge door the appliance is still connected to
the mains electric!)
•Remove any food and store in a cool place.
•Remove the glass shelves and door shelves.
WARNING: Fridge glass shelves;
•Remove and place the glass shelves on a
worktop that is covered with a towel.
•Remove the trims from the glass shelves and
clean. Do not use abrasive pads, scourers.
• After cleaning, replace the trims.
Cleaning
Clean the fridge interior monthly and the
freezer box when defrosting.
Remove any spillages immediately to prevent
them from drying onto the surfaces.
•Clean the interior with a clean cloth or
sponge using lukewarm water with a suitable
cleaning agent.
•After cleaning, dry using a soft cloth.
•Leave the doors open to dry the appliance
and prevent any odour build up.

Cleaning the ventilation grille
A build-up of dust within the ventilation areas
will increase the energy consumption of the
appliance.
•The ventilation area should be cleaned
regularly using a soft brush and vacuum
cleaner.
After cleaning
•Replace all the shelves and accessories.
•Reconnect to the mains socket and switch
on.
•After an hour or so place the food in the
fridge.
•Once the freezer box temperature has
returned to below 0°C (c.2hrs) place the
food back in the freezer box.
Cleaning the door seals
Do not use any oils or grease on the door seals,
as this will cause the seals to deteriorate and
become porous.
•The door seal should be cleaned regularly
using a mild detergent and clean cloth.
Wipe dry using a clean cloth.
•If required the door seal can be removed for
an extra deep clean.
•Take extreme care not to damage the door
seal when removing and replacing.
To remove:
Starting at a corner, gently peel away the
seal from the channel, working away along
the door.
To replace:
Starting at a corner, press in the seal working
away and along the door, pressing the seal
into the channel.

Replacing the interior light
Switch off the appliance at the mains socket
and remove the plug.
Before replacing the lamp check that it has
not just worked loose.
If required t a suitable E14 screw cap 1w LED
type lamp, (available from Lamona spares).
Replace lamp:
•Switch off the appliance at the mains socket
and remove the plug.
•Remove the light cover 1- 2.
(For ease of access, remove top shelf).
•Replace the lamp.
• Ret the light cover.
Carefully dispose of the failed lamp.
• The main cavity of the appliance is for short
term storage of fresh food and drinks.
• Cooked dishes must be stored in airtight
covered containers and are best placed on
either of the removable shelves.
• Fresh wrapped produce can be placed
directly on the shelf.
• Fresh fruit and vegetables should be cleaned
and stored in the salad crisper drawer.
• Bottles can be placed in the door section.
• To store raw meat, place in polythene bags
and on the lowest shelf.
• Do not allow raw food to come into
contact with cooked food in order to avoid
contamination.
• For safety, only store raw meat for two to
three days.
• Shelves incorporate rear stops and can tilt for
storing bottles.
• Lift shelf to clear grooves when adjusting.
• To tilt a shelf, place the back of the shelf one
level below the front of the shelf. To remove
a tilted shelf, rst release the back off the
grooves and then pull it away.
The following guidelines and recommendations are
suggested to obtain the best results and storage hygiene
• Keep food packed, wrapped or covered.
• Allow hot food and beverages to cool
before placing them in the refrigerator.
• Do not store explosive substances in the
appliance.
• High proof alcohol must be stored upright in
sealed containers.
• Do not store food in opened cans.
• Some fruit and vegetables suffer damage
if kept at temperatures near 0°C. Therefore
wrap pineapples, melon, cucumbers,
tomatoes and similar produce in polythene
bags.
• Shelves, racks, crisper bins, dairy
compartments, drawers are all removable.
• Always wrap food using a suitable
packaging material before storing in your
appliance and avoid contact with the rear
wall.

Do - Clean your appliance regularly.
Do - Store raw meat in the lower part of the
appliance below cooked food and dairy
products
Do - Wrap and cover all items to prevent
‘drying-out’ and to avoid smell and cross
contamination.
Do - Store food as short a time as possible to
avoid bacterial growth.
Do - Keep the appliance sufciently cool to
inhibit bacterial growth.
Do - Observe use-by dates on foodstuffs.
Do - Clean salad and remove damaged
leaves before storage.
Do - Leave lettuce, cabbage and cauliower
on the stem.
Do - Wrap cheese in greaseproof paper
and polythene, removing as much air as
possible.
Do - Try not to overload the door.
Do - Ensure the appliance storage
temperatures are correct to prevent food
spoiling and waste.
Don’t - Store bananas in the appliance.
Don’t - Store melon in the appliance.
It can be chilled for short periods as long
as it is wrapped to avoid it avouring other
food.
Don’t - Leave the door open for long periods as
this will make the appliance more costly to
run.
Don’t - Store poisonous or any dangerous
substances in the appliance. (The
appliance has been designed for the
storage of edible foodstuffs only).
Don’t - Consume food which has been stored
for an excessive time in the appliance.
Don’t - Store cooked and fresh food together
in the same container. They should be
packaged and stored separately.
Don’t - Let defrosting food or food juices drip
onto food below.
Don’t - Store bottles or cans in the freezer box.
Food storage advice and recommendations to avoid waste food and energy
If the appliance does not operate when
switched on, check that:
•The plug is inserted properly into the mains
socket and that the power supply is on.
(To check the power supply to the mains
socket, plug in another electrical appliance).
•The fuse has blown/circuit breaker has
tripped/main distribution switch has been
turned off.
•The temperature control has been set
correctly.
•Freezer section is freezing / cooling.
•New plug is wired correctly if you have
changed the tted moulded plug.
•Too much ice developing:
– Door not closed properly or open for long
period of time.
– Warm food being placed in appliance.
•Vibration noise:
– Bottles/jars in appliance making contact
with each other or touching the walls of
appliance.
•Water at bottom of fridge
– Rear collection channel overowing due
to blockage by item.
– Use plastic plunger to unblock.
•Water on shelf:
– Stored item touching rear wall.
If the appliance is still not operating after the
checks, then call LAMONA Service Line.
Please ensure that the checks have been
made as a charge may be made if no fault is
found.
