The D-NoteSeriesdigital noterecorderhasmemorythatallowsyou toinstantly
capturenotesordiagramswritten ininkon normalpaperwithoutconnecting into
yourcomputer,and then transferadigitaldataintoacomputerforviewing,
editing, orsharing byemail on Windowsplatform.

D-Notecan be deployed inanysituationswherebothapaperhardcopyand a
digitizedsoft copyarerequired,suchasminutestaking,lecturenotestaking or

Open the batteriesoftrough and change the batteries.Afterthat,closethe cover
trough and screwit on.

2.2 Install thebatteriesforDigital Pen
Open the bottomofdigitalpen’slidand takeoutthemercury battery,then
change anewone withthe negative(-) polefacing the pen tip.Screwbothbarrel
partsup until tight.
Incorrectbatteryinstallation willresultinthe malfunction of the digital
inkpen.
Important:
Removecoverbeforeinserting pen battery.
Incasetolosethe digital pen, pleaseput themintothe D-Note’strough.

The twodecimaldigitsofthe page counterareenlargedinthe centerofthe
screen,whereasthe hundreds(0-1)aredisplayed behind thehyphen in
the top rowofthedisplay.
Although the D-Notetheoreticallyhasthe abilitytobuildup about99
workbooksof199 digitalpageseach,suchabilityislimited tothe maximum
storage capacityofthe built-inflashmemory inpractically.Therefore,the
DNA500 hasastorage capacityof 32MB, whichisabout 150 digital pages,
and DLA401 isabout 75 pages.
3.2 PowerButton
1.EnabletheDigitalrecorder
Inordertostart the Digitalrecorder, press the button of POWER
about 3seconds, the LCD showson (asright picture).
2.MENU Functions
Press the button of ,and select the menufunctions.(Pleasereferthe section
3.7-- Menu functions)
3.DisabletheDigital Recorder
Inordertoshut downthe Digital recorder,press the button of
POWER about 3seconds, the LCD showsoff(asright picture).
3.3 Buildup and storeanewpage
It is stronglyrecommended tonumberdownthe sheetson your
notepad and copythe workbookand page numberon theLCD
displayeachtimeyou turnoverasheet. Thiswillhelptosynchronize
the papersheetswiththe workbooksand digitalpagesinthe D-Note’s
memory.

STEP-1 Press /createsanewpage.
Toavoidthe creation of superimposed digital pages, makesurethat the
page statusindicatoron the LCD screen displaysan emptypage before
you start writing on anewpage.
Beforecreatingnewpage orselecting theoldone,waitingfor or
comeoutforrecording data.
The sizeof the filesisdependson howmuchthe handwritten datayou
have.
3.4 Modifynotes
Whenever,you can turnthe page you wishtogo thatyou havewritten and
saved before.
Press the PageUp rbutton or PageDown sbutton tobrowsepagesand
makecorrectionsoradditional notes.
You maybrowseseveral sheetsatatimetocheck earliernotes.However,if
you wanttomakeadditionson aparticularsheet, youmustturnthe page by
repeatedlypressing the Page Up or Down buttonsuntilthe page counter
indicatesthe samenumberasthe one you havemarkedon the sheet itself.
3.5 Delete pages
Method 一Pressing the Delete button thatequalstearing offorcrossing outa
papersheet of the notepad.

Method 二Usethe softwarefunction todeletepageson Windows:
Afterconnecting yourD-Noteintoacomputer,then open the pagesfolderby
using DigitalOrganizer (Installmethod,see theCH 4.1).Checking the D-Note
dataand selecting thepagesyou wishtodelete.Inaddition,you can remember
and deletepagesfasterbyputamark “-“inthe head offilename.

3.7 DigitalInkPenTesting
Firstly,pickup the digitalpen(makesurethe mercury battery install
properly) and try towriteanything on the D-Note’sworkarea (LCD
willdisplay ) thatmeansthepen isworking fine.(ifdetectthe
pen around the working areabutnowriting action,then LCD will
display )。
If the LCD displaysthe icon or ,the digital pen isworking fine.
Ifno icon displays,thatmeansthe pen hasno action.(
Even though you
still writebyusing anormalpen,no recordoraction hassavedas
computerfiles.)
Becarefulifno icon appeared when you areinwriting a
ction.Ifnot,
pleasecheck the batteryrun outornotinstallproperly.

4.Introduction toSoftwareFunctions
The Digital Organizerallowsyou toview,edit,annotate,ore-mailonWindows.
You can download the digitalnotepadsfromthe D-Notetoyourcomputer,and
organize,rename,delete,orsavetheminmost frequentlyused fileformatslike
JPG,BMP, orPDF.
4.1 Install DigitalOrganizer
1.Turnon yourcomputerand startWindows
2.Insertthe Digital OrganizerCD intotheCD-ROMdriver.Ifyoursystemhas
the “Autorun”function enabled,yourscreen willdisplaythe setup screen menu.
If thesetup screen didnotappearafterawhile,doubleclick Mycomputer onthe
Windowsdesktop,and then the CompactDisc iconand the Setup icon in
succession.
3.Confirmthelocationofthe
destination folder(recommended)
and click [OK].
4.Toproceed withthe installation,
click [OK],wait untilthe installation is
completed,and click[OK] again.

4.2 TransferyourdatafromD-Note toyourcomputer
1.Using USBcabletoconnectyourD-Noteand computer.
Makesureyour
computerispoweron andplugtheconnectorintoanavailableUSB
porton your
computer.

surface.Coverthewriting area withasheetofpaper,orjustuse
an emptypage ofyournotepad when using the D-
Noteinpen
tabletmode.Thiswillavoidscratchesorinktraceson the
D-Note’ssurface.
